Road Life is one of the worst perks ever made

I just don't know how BHVR folks keep making the worst perks imaginable.

All this perk does is infuirate you, that's all it does, it has 50 000 conditions and takes ages to activate.

You need to be injured, not broken (100% chance to go against a plague when you run this) and repairing a generator. Skill Checks are RNG so good luck getting some and you need to hit greats aswell, if you miss a skill check YOU LOSE A TOKEN, I guess a perk this overpowered needed a downside on top of everything it already has.

When you finally activate the perk, you need to continuously heal, so if your teammate decides to press shift while healing or you get interrupted, you can say hello to road life because that's where you will end up after you burn your house down from frustration.

TLDR: It's trash, takes ages to activate, use Botany Knowledge instead and never even aknowledge this perk's existence.

Honestly, I think the intended use is primarily for self healing.

I think Road Life has the biggest self-heal buff potential in the game, as anything with that much Heal Speed is usually restricted to altruism only.

I had moderate success running it with a medkit, Built to Last, Deadline or either Stake Out if I'm having skill issues hitting greats, or Botany if I want even more heal speed. I do a gen while injured, and then pop the heal when it's charged, or if I finish the gen.

As an Altruistic perk it's genuinely terrible, but the fact that it applies to self heals is the secret in the sauce. It's not an amazing perk, but it's a fun build to run.

Well at least its not a killer perk like invocations

Yeah, like I said, not an amazing perk by any means. I just like making perks that are viewed as bad or useless work.

I think ditching the Injured requirement would make it kind of insane, but as it stands it'll stay an underused perk.

    • I agree, considering the existence of "Botany," this perk is simply absurd. I've never seen anyone use it (except Adept Vee). It's simply a small "bonus" (a single quick heal) but so complex and cumbersome to activate.

It's meant for fast self heals, except BHVR forgot that Self-Care + Botany is the no. 1 build in Japan and the best self-healing build.

Also, Strength in Shadows is also a thing.

roadlife should get nerfed to like 60-70% and unlock self care option so it's another self care sidegrade that you need to earn by hitting greats on gens.

It can be even self care at 100% speed and people would still take self care + botany/strength in shadows or even current boon circle of healing over that. There is way too many requirments for this perk. Injured, hit 4 great skill checks at gen and then heal hoping that killer will not found you or you'll lose value from this perk.

Also worth mentioning that inner strength is back into way better self heal perks since they nerfed pentimento
