You Can No Longer Change Your Steam Name with the Game Open
Just another bit of functionality lost for no reason whatsoever. You have to restart the game for your steam name to update in game. Can there be a priority to fix this for PC players? Thanks.

I was goofing around with my friend and we were changing nicknames during our play. I didn't notice the difference - the new name is set as soon as you go to the new match (lobby )

Pretty sure I can't willy nilly like that, being on Xbox. Something something only once a month and not free something something something.

Not really. You could only change the name before getting into a game, not mid-game.
I liked to use funny character-specific usernames from time to time.
