Buff Skull Merchant

Exactly one year ago, you murdered Skull Merchant. You promised us a rework, you said her state would be temporary, that she'd be reworked in a year. Clearly that wasn't the case. But, I get it, this has been a busy year. Things come up, plans go awry. The biggest issue that I have isn't that Skull Merchant was in this state for a year, it's that she was put in it in the first place.

1 year, 11 months, and 28 days ago you reworked Skull Merchant. Most of the complaints about that version of Skull Merchant were made in the first month, so why did you wait almost a full year to do anything? If she was problematic enough to gut why was she not problematic enough to get changes earlier? During that time, Chucky was released and put in two additional ptb's. Not long after the gutting, you nerfed him in a bugfix. So I don't really buy the idea that you couldn't fit any changes in that year.

You tried absolutely nothing and ran out of ideas. You decided that it was better to nerf her into oblivion for the sin of being disliked than to try doing anything to make her feel better to play against. You took a character people paid for, and put hundreds of into and decided to nerf her so hard that no one would want to play her.

Your players, your customers, and your community deserve better. We deserve some amount of actual effort. We deserve better than to have band-aid fixes and half-measures. We deserve better than to have the things we paid for and enjoy sent to the shadow realm while you work to change it into something completely different.

The very least you could do, is buff her.

It still boggles my mind that they tacitly deleted a killer in response to people refusing to learn the very simple counterplay to her.

Funny is even prenuked version seems pathetic weak in chase compare to what we got lately…

we all know that they’re still testing skull merchant rework what’s the post of this obviously toxic and unnecessary post? I used to play Skull Merchant and you could tell players obviously had a horrible time playing against her. They didn’t do the right thing but they did what they could for the time being.

The purpose of this post is that I want them to buff Skull Merchant now, not whenever the rework comes out. It was supposed to already be out or be close to coming out. Neither we, nor the devs, know if the rework will come out when they said it will or if it will be pushed back again. This is something the devs do pretty often, they refuse to change things because they have a bigger change far in the future. Like how twins mains had to wait years for them to make the victor→charlotte switch not take 12 business days.

I don't want that for Skull Merchant, They don't have to do a lot, I just want them to do something. They could make rotor and speaker basekit so she has 2 add-on slots to play with. They could rework low-power mode into something that isn't only an active detriment. They could remove the fast-vault protection they slapped onto her when she was already too weak. Even if they did all of those things she still wouldn't be insanely strong or anything, she'd just not feel as bad to play.

I don't agree that "they did what they could," I'd say that that implies that they tried to find the best solution for everyone, and I don't think they did. They gutted her with no regard for her players, and they didn't even address fix most of the complaints people had. The only thing their changes did was make her so bad that no one would want to play her. These are the half measures I was talking about. They didn't actually fix anything, and given that they already planned on a more intensive rework, I don't think they were really trying to. They didn't seem to care about how it'd feel to play her for the next year either. So no, I wouldn't say that they did what they could, because I know they can do better. Them choosing not to even try is what the issue is.

I say, wait for it, don't rush it.

If they rush it, you will get another dashslop killer.

Dia Das Bruxas next week though, so we got that going, which is nice.

Pretty sure they went back to the drawing board with her rework previews, taking in all the feedback.

Next year they said, hope we get something soon at least

This is the only type of killer that is palatable to the community, so it's what we're getting.

It'd be hilarious if all of the nutso S tier killer drops lately were all an elaborate long haul plan to make everyone forget about Skully for her return xD
