I Want To See The Devs Playing This Game

For a long time, there's been a schism between Devs and Community for this game. Like, an AWFUL long time! So, what I want to see is the Devs playing this game in a stream, and not just any Dev.

I don't want Manny or another Community Manager like the Reddit Guy playing the game on stream. No, no, no, no, no! I want the actual people making balancing decisions, making the changes that matter to the game the most. I want THEM to play the game, live on stream, in front of everybody willing to watch. You don't have to look at the chat while you do it, all I ask of you is to play the game.

And I don't mean playing it with other devs in a Custom Game. No, I want you to SoloQ. I want you to play 4-Man SWFs in the live servers. I want you play any Killer that isn't Nurse, Blight, Krasue, or Ghoul. I want the Devs to go straight into the belly of the beast and play some actual NA Servers.

So Why Am I making this?

I think I can speak for a lot of people when I say this…

But I'm genuinely convinced that a majority of Behaviour Interactive do not play Dead By Daylight.

It's not even they're making missteps with balancing or with Killers, from how things have been recently going as far back as Doomed Course, it genuinely feels like the Community and the Devs are playing completely different games.

Like we're playing Monopoly and you're playing Sorry!, we're playing Go Fish and you're playing Poker. With how you balance things, it's like two different games are going parallel besides each other.

If Anything Else, Pay Attention To This

I am not making this post to degrade you, the Devs. I am not making this to belittle you, the Devs. I am making this because you have birthed a rather common sentiment that you don't play the game you made. I started playing this game around when Legion came out, all the way back then.

It was kind of a joke to say that "Hur dur, lmao, Bhvr doesn't play their own game!" but now, I'm serious. It has evolved into a genuine fear that the people who make decisions for this game, the ones who are in control, don't even know how to play a majority of the Killers, don't know how to loop most tiles, and don't know what most of the Perks in the game do.

That's why I want to see you on stream, playing your own game. Once again, Mandy, you're good! You're not the one I'm looking for! I'm not looking for the Twitter and the Reddit guy either! I'm looking for the Devs. The ones we think of when we think of "Developer."

It was funny to think BHVR didn't play their own game at first, but it's not anymore.
