''Hook 15 survivors in the void''

Yeah, this challenge is beyond impossible, nobody is entering the void, neither survivors or killers, this challenge has to be reviseted since it's not on your control to complete it, you have to rly on others to do it, which is stupid.

Just be friendly or dissapear with instadown killer they will look for you and they will find you, which gives you few hooks per game better than nothing and if you feel bad at loosing i think this even has no mmr because Im getting survivors that are way bellow my level but hard to say if its luck or no mmr or bhvr moment.

I feel like this one is to make you play killer in this gamemode. If not it I would be long ago playing surviwor.

It's not impossible, but it's pretty miserable. Best bet is to stay in the void. Always have haunts. You can get two hits in quick succession as long as you have a haunt ready to send out. (Without a haunt then a hit, it's likely the survivor will make it through a portal because of the successful hit cooldown.) It's boring.

The killer challenges suck. It should've been hooking on Void hooks, not in the Void. And kill 3 survivors? Why kill? Why not sacrifice?

People go into the void left and right. Stop whining instantly while the reality is clearly different.

I don't have a source for this but I vaguely remember reading somewhere that MMR isn't enabled for event lobbies. I could be misremembering something though.

To make this easier, you should be able to enter the void while carrying a survivor. (Wiggle does NOT pause) but it will at least give the chance especially if you down near a rift

    Yeah it's ridiculous.

I agree, I was lucky to get one lol. I mostly play survivor and we arent really using it much :/ I tried to give a killer a hook in there; pointed at it but he downed me before we could go in. This challenge is really hard.

I just finished it, after hours of play on my killer main.

The key problem is that there just isn't enough reason to go into the void as a survivor. It also doesn't help that it takes close to a full bar to get a crystal, and that for both killers and survivors it's a slow start to get going. If the match is happening fast, you don't even get a chance to do anything related to the event.

It's also been a heavy survivor night. The 1.5x bonus for killer has been up for a long time, and if you're hitting a SWF (which seems to be about every 4th match) they'll have the game done before you can blink.

I mean I kinda played the event for an hour - then like 4-5 hours normal queue.

I don't enjoy ghosts free hits and quick breaking.

Teammates not being efficient are not helping either.

I got the 15 hooks in about as many matches. People are going in the void injured. Sometimes they're panicking and trying to extend the chase. It was easier than I thought it would be.

They have been but with this one at least you have the entire life of the Rift to get in done.

So it is actually the challenge then. I had to double take reading that, yeah, I'll do it when I do it. My best bet is to just be friendly and hope they understand my challenge so I can just hook everyone twice in the void realm. lol That's a challenge I don't see myself completing normally. I'm not seeing anyone go in the portal.

It is for holiday events, just not things like Lights Out, Chaos Shuffle, 2v8, etc.

Just spend like 8 matches with ghostface or bubba and I have done it, some survivors called me toxic or lame go touch grass but challange is done and I recomend slowdown build with some endgame like bloodwarden to spice things up but my whole point was get this challange so I didnt care for kills just void hooks.

what's different from past years? I used to rely on the void a lot as a survivor.

  • Munky

I used Ghostface and camped the void… sucks but thats the way to do it.

  • BloodBird
    BloodBird Member Posts: 252

Its not that hard, it literally tells you as killer when someone enters the void and if they do it injured they are broken, it also takes them twice as long as killer to obtain their rift item from the void.

Why is everyone treating the quests like they need to be completed in a day, you have like 2 or 3 weeks, just play the game and you'll get it done. I have 10 void hooks already cause every now and than when someone goes in it, i just pick a random void, enter it, find them and down them.

True. They're bound to have more Void challenges at least, but it is really terrible.

I've found lots of Survivors go into the void, especially if they are winning. Play an instadown Killer and you should at least be able to get some of them off guard in there. I managed to get this challenge done over 2 play sessions.

It is a little bit grindy, but at least it's not the gen repair Survivor one. I'm not gonna bother with any Survivor challenges this Halloween because the event is so Killer sided (played one game and was instantly reminded why I don't play Survivor much anymore by a back to the hook tunnelling Nemi).

I’ve got 9 after playing for hours last night, but survivors rarely go into the void once they’ve finished their quest I feel.

The most puzzling for me was the 3 kills which I did but felt awful doing it as it doesn’t count sacrifices. I never want to slug for the fourth especially in an event, but the alternative was bringing a Mori into the event which just feels even worse.

Yeah I was thinking something similar. I might just play as Trapper, hang out and be friendly in the void, and try to get people to step in my traps and then hook them once or twice and then let them go.

Yeah, chasing a survivor in the void makes no sense, it's a throw, especially if they're in full health and you play an M1 killer. You hit them and they're out of the void.

I played 3 games as killer and few survivors entered the void while I was in chase or end game. 0 hooks. Okay if you play killer for hours you'll get the hooks but I'm not a killer main. Not a big deal though, it's for 50 rift fragments, the thing is the devs aren't thinking like the players do when they make some challenges.

I been going to the void to get crystals put on gens. It doesn't do much because the sweat Killers don't seem interested in anything other than a 4K.

  • Abbzy
    Abbzy Member Posts: 2,120

That can work too, I had just one girl friendly but mostly survivors doesnt trust you so instadown killer was best for my option and sometimes I sneaked as ghostface there or played little normaly as ghostface to build some stalk or as bubba and then left to the void and some will look for you like dedicated sable mains these are the types that can sit few minutes and leave they want the thrill of the chase so few hooks for game but if you make like 2-3 survivors friendly then you will get it faster than me.

I played as trapper with the bring all your traps addon. Made a big minigame out of placing traps all around the middle. They came in and got hooked lol but i didnt leave the void. Or in other cases you can stay at the middle and then try to communicate that they can take the crystals but have to leave the void through hooks lol

The hardest part is the games where absolutely no one goes in. I have to slog through an ordinary game lol I could do that in normal mode. Then the survivors who do go in, typically do so once I've started a chase with someone else. So I have to abandon chase to try and quickly catch them in there, and most have grabbed their prize and dipped by then.

I managed to get three void hooks in one game with Bubba.

I don't even play Killer much.

I realise my MMR on Killer is low but holy crap, I'm face stomping newbies.

Last one gets hatch if they don't DC, ; )

I played 3 matches this evening. During those matches only had 1 survivor per match ever went into the void and if you don't stop chasing immidiatly and insta down him then and there, there is no way you are doing this. So currently I am at 1/15 and realised you NEED this quest for the 20/20 Completed Quests… UNLESS, the but in more quests towards the end, or actually patch or better remove this quest. It has nothing to do with "challenging" and everything with bad design.

I think the biggest issue for many people is, in the past you could skip certain quests and still finish the event and gell all the items. But most people struggle HEAVILY with this quest, making it nearly impossible to complete for a lot of people.
But since you need all quests done these days to even get all the loot, they feel miserable, because of that.
They should lower each requirement for event and tome completion to 80% instead of 100% … that would more or less be on the same note as it used to be with the old tome system.

There is one extra quest in the Haunted by Daylight event (the kick 50 pumpkins quest). So, at the moment, there is room for disregarding one quest. However, we don't know if there will be any other horribly designed challenges besides the "hook 15 in the void" one.

I've managed to probably get 100 hooks in the Void at this point. People are going in quite a lot. Probably to do the survivor Quests, which I don't know how I'm going to get done. Craft ten crystals? Are you kidding? I can't even live long enough to make one. I will have to throw all my matches to try and do this.

    It's true.

It's not nearly as difficult as one might think at first.

It just takes a lot of time, since may people avoid the void like a plague.

I’m noticing that a lot of survivors are using the void, but it has the exact same problem as Springtrap’s security room and Pinhead’s puzzle box, where survivors are waiting for the killer to be committed to chasing someone else (or waiting until the killer picked up a survivor) before running into the void.

I know that I’ve wasted a lot of killer time by running into the void and then immediately hiding, because some killers want to chase survivors in the void so badly that they will spend 1-2 minutes just searching the void for a survivor.

Show the survivors you want to farm, lead them to portal and once inside hint the hook it's easy got that in a few games.
