Should we have more events rather than chapter releases?
Just hear me out: BHVR announcing the delay of chapter releases to focus on quality of life changes a while back got me thinking. There are so many characters and perks in DBD at this point I don't feel like we need a new chapter every couple of months. However, BHVR still needs to keep the playerbase engaged and coming back frequently, right?
What if, for maybe 2 weeks at a time, they had a mini event, where players would have 2 weeks to complete some small quests or whatever to earn a featured, limited time cosmetic for a character? Maybe they could even have a couple of paid shop cosmetics to go along with it? That way, people would want to keep coming back and spending money, so all good things for BHVR.
On top of that, maybe they could bring 2v8 back more often. Everyone loves 2v8.
My point is, having less chapter releases going forward would take a lot of work off the dev's shoulders and allow them to focus on game balancing and quality of life stuff going forward; designing a few cosmetics is much easier than a chapter, and, at the very least, it would keep me coming back to the game.

Reusing the same events without making some big changes will not work longterm.
And after what I saw for the last few months, operation health doesnt rly work so far either.

Problem with events for me is it's literally just the same thing as base game.
Fix gens (with extra steps), or hook survivors (with extra steps), gets boring very quickly. I just end up wanna get the quests done and gtfo so I dont have to deal with whatever bs gimmick the event is running that just makes the gameplay loop more miserable than usual.
events should be mechanically different to the base game, they're events, they're supposed to be something SPECIAL

I don't think that 2v8 being more often would work out - killers can't play normally because of this.
I will remind you, that killer queue are broken 2v8 is out - 8-12 minutes of waiting is just too much. This means most of the time we wait for the match more than we get to play.
