How you would change Hatch system?
People have very different opinions on this matter, so I'd like to know which is more popular. Would you like to completely change this system? Make it more guaranteed or just remove it?
Personally, I like the gambling factor, but I would still make it so that the hatch spawns with a 25% chance
- at gate A
- at gate B
- at the shack
- at the main building
I would also like to remove the offering, clearing blood web. And, of course I would like the hatch to close automatically if a survivor haven’t used it for 90 seconds, and also give the last survivor to receive a 50% speed boost to opening gates. Just to make the problem of them spawning too close to each other less frustrating.
So, what’s your opinion on hatch system?

It would be better to rework hatch mechanic completely
hatch as a whole is outdated. what was once a mechanic used to prevent matches lasting forever is now a case of slug to prevent it spawning and last 2 hide hoping the other dies so someone can get a free escape without doing gens or the gate. both boring an unfun. instead of hatch it should just be egc…maybe a slightly longer one than normal so people can still do gens and actually earn the escape. at most the hatch should be sacrifice pit that the survivors can jump into, no one should be able to do 0 gens, 0 saves, dont nothing in the match then just walk out the hatch.

I still like some gambling factor in this game, so want hatch stay. It’s just interesting for me — playing who is gonna be faster, me or survivor. It doesn’t influence on MMR, it doesn’t influence on win condition, so I think hatch should stay, but changed. While wins should be reconsidered and works around team and not personal kills and escapes

the issue is that the hatch doesnt count as a loss when the survivor hasnt done any gens, hasnt unhooked anyone, just been floating around the map potentially being toxic to their team mates by body blocking, take a hatch offering to spawn at shack and its easy escape and they maintain the same mmr for failing the objective of doing gens. Thats my issue with it currently…and it encourages hiding and slugging.
in some ways i do think the win condition should be team based not personal escapes, however, i think it would make escaping soloq matches worse. i like that as a soloq player although somewhat technically reliant on my god awful team that DC and makes silly mistakes or go next, these people dont really effect my games as much because im going for my own escape and i play accordingly. i dread to think if my win condition was based on the team as a whole with the type of team mates i get matched with lol.

It should stay random, but be adjusted to prevent camping
I personally like the hatch mechanic, I just think the biggest pain with the hatch system is that sometimes it just spawns in the weirdest spot and neither you or the killer can find it. I can't count on two hands how many times I've tried to give hatch and just haven't been able to find it so I just let the survivor run around for several minutes and find it. I do think that the hatch does need to be changed in a way where it doesn't make the survivor feel like they've won, because the amount of times I've been bmed just because a surv got hatch before I could close it is silly.

Don’t really understand BMing on gates even. Maybe some tbag after really good loop play is acceptable for me and I love such cheecky survivors, they are usually have fun personality
But is it really possible to be changed? I feel people if want so would be able to find a way to taunt by everything what is possible in game if it matches their personal view of winning. Like people BMed me for ties or when last survivor was able to open a gate. I don't know is it issue of the system or people behaviour

I don't realistically seeing anything happening about it but it's nice to put your thoughts out into the world you know. There are always going to be people who are toxic or whatever.

Toxicity, whether it’s in the frame of the game itself or getting out of control and becoming personal feels like a main character trait of this game. Somehow I managed to get used to this and being tired at the same time.
There were times when maybe I was toxic myself. I bet I still can do sometimes. Now I try to just call myself out every time I feel this game starts to feed on my negative feelings like entity itself

I don't mind trying out your idea.
In my opinion, hatch exists primarily as an anti-bottleneck feature. When the trial slows down, we need something to tip it forward. Pre-nerf, hatch was good at doing that. Post-nerf, it's almost completely negligible.
Personally I'd like to see the old formula brought back (hatch appears when completed gens = # of remaining Survivors + 1) but make it so that it is only eligible to spawn when there are 2 Survivors left. It spawns closed just like it used to and only opens manually with a Key or automatically when 1 Survivor is left.
To me, that creates an ideal system where it functions as it should while also preventing some of the issues it had in the past. Granted, you'll still have scenarios where a duo sacrifices the solos and leaves through hatch, but I'd rather see how it plays out before pre-emptively considering that that makes it a waste to even try.

I may not personally wanting to see something close to old version of hatch, but literally made a post to see what people actually desire so every version is really welcomed and I find them valid on its own
I starting to feel, the thing that makes people keep playing DBD over and over despite frustration may be a gamble factor from this game. So I’m curious is my theory is right, and how actually this thing is in demand. And I feel hatch may be a good example of this
The issue is this gambling gonna be something you can play around or not. Now it feels redundant. Killer either slugging, or survivor bringing perks, keys and offering. And… for what reason on both sides? Artificial stats? Personal feel you did something important? Some “justice” thing, like do specific side deserves points to win over nothing or what? Me personally wasn't caring a lot about hatch on both sides and I just giving whatever should happen with it.

I want something changed but I don't know what I want.
Most of my survivor matches have killers slugging for the 4k so hatch is a rare sight. Until the devs either make the self-recovery possible or allow for fast bleedouts, it's a mostly suppressed mechanic and thus useless. I also don't like that it's an out for rats. Not just an out, but one that keeps their MMRs low, so they can feel accomplished by an inflated ER while never actually becoming skilled or going up against serious opponents.
As killer, I like the dash for hatch, but I usually avoid the best looper in the match, making them the last man standing. So if they get the hatch, at least I feel the person who deserves it got it.

its too easy to predict it because its already most likely at shack or main and if not then just search structures/hills and you will find it

Final chase would be far more interesting. Render an entirely separate arena or something, and it becomes a game of skill rather than chance. Survivor has to run out the clock, Killer has to catch the survivor.

Who cares? Honestly? The majority of hatch games are a cesspool of Killers being so toxic and unfun that they're often camping/tunneling/slugging at 5 gens. I just had a match of the event against a Kaneki with a wussy build, but even worse were the Survs I was paired with. Not even 30 seconds into the match and all three were downed with two hooked, so now I'm just supposed to play prison simulator since I'm being held in a match where nothing but hook trades are going to get done? No.
I parked my butt right in a locker and waited for the hatch and the Kaneki raged as did the awful Survs who were all down within 30 seconds. If BHVR got rid of DC penalty, I would have given them a bot and honestly they deserved a bot, not an actual human on the other end, but BHVR doesn't support positive gameplay.
Hatch should spawn with two Survs left, plain and simple. Then one Surv get's the hatch or the Killer closes it and forces gates at which point one of the two Survs have a chance at opening the gates. Enough of this toxic lame ass gameplay of slugging the 2nd to last or enticing Survs in SoloQ to rat on eachother while breaking literal game rules. BHVR needs to step up.

Where's the option to leave it as is?
If anything the only change should be to adjust hatch escapes so that they count as a win for that individual survivor instead of a draw.

It seems you can’t really edit polls, and I realised about this option too late

if hatch spawned at 2 survivors left no one would bother doing gens at all or going for saves and there would be 0 team work at all. 1 person dies….3 left. only 1 more needs to go before hatch, i know what i would do in that situation, hide and wait it out. i wouldnt be doing gens and i wouldnt be saving people because the less of my team there are the better chance i have. not sure you want to experience a match like that over and over.
its strange that people hate the killer slugging for 4k but these same people have no problem with hiding for hatch. i do what you do in that situation, go for hatch. but even i know i shouldnt be able to escape even though i havnt done anything in the match. But i dont have an issue with the killer slugging either.
"the killer is so petty and toxic for slugging trying to stop last survivor escaping via hatch"
"survivors are so petty and toxic for avoiding gens and hiding" (which is actually reportable as per game rules)
Both sides do equally boring and "toxic" things.

I’m a huge advocator of having more objectives. The hatch should be another objective. It should spawn immediately on the map, and require a special key that needs to be found. Once opened, only one survivor can escape through it. That would really give more dynamic to the game.
Less gens, more objectives.
