Camping and tunnelling is skyrocketing recently
For the past week 9/10 matches I would have a killer either proxy camp or hard tunnel a survivor out, despite having 4/5 gens left. And it's not like they are against bullying squad or super well-played team.
anti-camp and anti-tunnel perks does not help much.
And Iridescent Button Legion abuse. I'm getting tired of it.
Is it just me?

Iri's are annoying on both sides, I feel like they could be kept out of event modes and I'd never miss them. With how easy it is to get BP's now they are everywhere.

Yes. It's ridiculous. It's like every match. Why get good at the game when you can just use cheap tactics instead?

The anti-camp meter needs improvements. Even on a small map like Haddonfieled it's easy for a killler to proxy camp.

We Have OTZ to thank for that he legit does it every game so people just going to copy what he does

My favorite is the comeback for every unhook. I call them, the come backers. They always come back.
7 -
All they have to do is back up a little and just wait. Bar doesn't even fill. Its worthless.
6 -
Or they can stand right in your face and let you unhook yourself, and then hit you as soon as your feet touch the ground, eliminating the endurance, and then tunnel you right off hook, rinse and repeat.
So yeah, anti-facecamp doesn't do jack.

I wish when people posted things like this they came with proof. I have a very hard time believing 9/10 killers you played against tunneled every single game.
-11 -
It doesnt need improvement as its doing it's job fine. it's anti-FACE camp not anti camp.
-12 -
looping has sky rocketed since day one. looping can be highly efficient but it can also fail. just like tunneling.
-4 -
You shouldn't be able to force someone into second stage because the hook is positioned in such a way that no one can get past you standing just outside the radius. It's the same exact problem as face camping, you're just a little further away.
8 -
That is VERY rare nowadays. You can more often than not trade on the hook.
-4 -
that’s weird you say that. Because objectively speaking, ever since the dev update got announced at the end of August for the September ptb, before the ptb even hit killers started to tunnel and slug a LOT more than in recent years. I think the main reason is because they know eventually bhvr is going to take action and implement some sort of anti tunneling and anti slug so they’re trying to abuse these tactics before they’re gone or not as effective. I promise you that if you’re somewhat decent as survivor to go play survivor for a full day and you’ll see how much slugging, tunneling and camping has risen.
7 -
This has happened more than ten times in my survivor games in the last week or two. I myself went second three or four times. It's not that rare if the hook is in a strategic spot and the killer knows it. They may even put you there with the intent to make it happen.
6 -
I haven't seen much tunneling and camping in normal queue but the event queue is unplayable.
5 -
What's the point though? They'll raise their MMRs to an unmanageable level and it'll be even more difficult if those things are taken away. I agree there's been an uptick, but the reason I can't fathom. It honestly feels more like pettiness. "You wanted changes? Well sucks, you didnt get them. Now kiss the floor for two minutes." That's the vibe I've been feeling as of late.

Yeah so that hook actually takes coordination to save which is fine. Being able to blindly run in solo and trade is very dumb.
-5 -
If it's VERY rare why would you expect a great play to occur, since the survivors don't see it that much? An if this was soloq, how are they supposed to coordinate, if our party couldn't even manage it? Treating a first hooking like an end game scenario shouldn't be the norm. The killers were not interested in budging until they forced the second. Increasing the radius would help this. It's not that big of change.
5 -
If you can't coordinate a 2 man save on hook… I'm sorry but that's just a skill issue. One person body blocks until the killers in weapon wipe then the other goes for the save while the injured runs away. I've seen soloq coordinate saves before it's just a LOT of dbd players are really unskilled.
Like unless its a leatherface or billy you should ABSOLUTELY be getting someone off hook if you have 2 survivors playing it smartly. The way anti-face camp is now is fine and doing it's job as intended. IF you cant pull someone off hook solo that's FINE pulling solo SHOULD be a huge risk of not even unhooking.-8 -
Im sorry but you cant go around calling surviours unskilled when the game gives you no comms wheel / communication with the team.
Yeah if I had communication with the team we could get the hook save a bit earlier, due to being soloq everyone ends up trying to get the save because we have no idea who is getting the save which leads to alot of these situations where people go second while no gens are done.
Surviours need a comm wheel if you expect them to do cororidinated plays with each other if its still happening and we have proper team communication yeah then it's a skill issue.

They've been skyrocketing for 10 years, I reckon.

The changes are long overdue. I cannot wait. Pretty stupid when a killer can just back up and watch you on hook and the anti camp meter dont even fill. lol Great solution there.

Look I can play addonless wraith and get 2k to 3k and maybe even 4 k with strategies like sluging and tunneling but then when I spread hooks I have 3 survviors dead on hook on powered gates and sad thing is if I had basekit pop and barbecue the outcome would be as with tunneling now which is just sad part about this game and many killers cant offer to play longer path because other side wont wait for them like gentleman for lady you know they will do 3 gens when killer has 1 hook and dont wait till he gets 3-4 hooks to continue gens so now you kinda must tunnel even if you dont want to if you want to win or draw and I would rather do it the being called ez noob for just playing normaly without sweat which is so common right now. I rather take tunneling insults and tell them ok but I won gg gl next hf and move on then see ez game baby killer spawned in chatt.

Not anti-camp. It's anti-face camp which means it doesnt allow the killer to sit literally right next to hook.
-5 -
As if that makes a difference. 😒
2 -
It actually does. Anti-face camp really does make you respect the distance to hook.
-3 -
But it doesn't reduce the effectiveness of the camping, especially if you're playing a ranged, mobile, or teleporting Killer (which is what, 3/4ths of the roster now?). I know a lot of people like to bring up hook trades as an argument, but if a Survivor trades and is now on hook being camped by the Killer, then we're back to square one.
7 -
Because its not MEANT to reduce the effectiveness of camping. It's mean to reduce the effectiveness of FACE camping aka standing RIGHT IN FRONT of the hooked survivor. IF you hook trade you buy your team more time compared to someone whose already been sitting for a while. It's better to get the person off before they hit the next hook stage and give your fresh 70 second stage than to put so much more pressure on your team. You get more time to reset, work on gens if the killer is actually sitting by hook and less pressure for the killer in general. If a killer is literally sitting by the hook you get either the most free 3 out of all time when played correctly (which isn't that hard) or the game is already in a losing state for the killer.
-5 -
instead of helping survivors, they…enabled it more for some reason.
dont ask me why people queue into survivor when its the same 3 boring cycle.1 -
If you can get back to the hook so fast you may as well have been face camping then it's a distinction without a difference. The 'face' in face camping isn't the problem - if it was then you may as well just call it an anti-bubba/anti-billy mechanic because that's all it's good for.
7 -
Yeah but fact is it's not face camping unless you're sitting in front of hook. Argue all you want but its by definition not face camping if you're outside the anti-face camp range. You'd also be surprised how many hooks become way more safe to at least trade on with the anti face camp. One good example is midwich stair hooks. There's a lot of hook spawns on midwich where the killer can either block a door way or hold a really high traffic area.

Whether you camp at two feet away or twenty feet away, it makes no difference. Whether you camp at two feet away or twenty feet away, Survivors can rescue one person, and one makes the trade. Whether you camp at two feet away or twenty feet away, the result is the same: a guaranteed death for one Survivor, a guaranteed escape for the other three if they just bust out gens, and an INCREDIBLY boring match for all four of them.
Therefore, I fail to see why it's so important to point out that the mechanic is just for FACE camping every time it's brought up. Every. Single. Time.
Because the distance at which you camp the hook makes ZERO difference.

Because it's internet mechanics and rules lawyer speak. Players like that have to make that distinction to make general camping okay to do, because since BHVR doesn't punish it, therefore it's fair game.

Im starting to belive they want the killer to go across the map or have anticamp meter range for 32 meters but forget its antifacecamp meter so the killers like dracula, pyramidhead, huntress, bubba, billy just cant sit next the hooked survivor and make resuing him almost impossible or guarantee trade possibly slug folowed with tunnel. What I see lately (as survivor or killer) many survivors are saving when killers is near hook and has no chase or he is chasing someone in safe spot and chance he will come back is very high but hard to explain these insta unhookers that heal under the hook 9/10 cases, I know its meta now heal under the hook but as survivor you have to think little and read whats killer up to same as 50/50 situation in looping will he respect the pallet or wont he, same goes for the killer will survivor fake the vault or will he commit (on loops like shack and mostly weaker ones this read when done correctly can mean hit or down and faster chase which is important thing).
1 -
Well these two can do it more dirty with instadown but there are plenty killers that can get down from trade and go for tunnel on unhooked survivor which is huge slowdown for survivor team so its helping against sll killers and important thing is you must count that if other survivors are some distance from hooked survivor (Idk what distance it is but lets just say 14-16 meters) then the anti camp meter wont fill and this works with sluged survivors too.
