Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Dead by Daylight has one of the worst communities in gaming history

Both sides are equally insufferable when it comes to the other side.

Queued for 2v8. Queued killer. Played 2 games as survivor while waiting for my killer matches. In both of these games, back to back with different people as the killers, I was one of the last 3 alive and both groups of killers tried to 3 man slug for the 8k. Resulted in over 10 minutes of 3 people rotating between picking themselves up and being slugged.

I get into my killer game. My teammate is afk. Great, kind of sucks but it happens. I just play the match out. I know I'm not going to win but I don't care. I waited 20 minutes so I'm going to play it out. Obviously I don't get a kill, and 5 survivors are sitting in an exit gate waiting for me to chase them out, tbagging me along the way. One of them was a streamer so I went into his chat and asked "why be toxic and tbag me? I'm clearly 1v8 and I dont understand the point"

His response? "Because you tried when you clearly couldn't win". That's ######### insane. That's an insane thing to say to someone else trying to enjoy the game. Why do both sides do this to each other? I think I'm one of the few people left who genuinely just wants to play this game for fun. I don't care if I win or lose, but I'm never going to go out of my way to be incredibly toxic towards other people, even if I'm stomping or being stomped. It's just a game, we should be treating each other with kindness.

You're not alone in feeling that way. It sucks when you know you've already lost and people won't leave the match because they want you to see them t-bagging. I get hate/gloat messages a lot as killer, and I heart all of them because it's pointless arguing with people getting worked up over a videogame. Let em tbag, send hate, whatever will help them sleep at night knowing they're that person.

I think there are some "members" of the community who are actively seeking to strengthen the divide between players(killers vs. survivors) in order to watch the game crash and burn. Which is sad because without them the game would be a lot more enjoyable/balanced imo.

yeah thats pretty bad and im really hoping that person never gains success due to their toxicity but i do gotta apologize and say sorry about your teammate being afk as well

The developers created and nurtured such a community. They could remove stuff like in-game chat whenever they want, yet they don't. I'm sure there are some that work on the team who think that feeling of rage induced by other people is what keeps you coming back to the game. Think about that. Pretty sick stuff but again the developers are the parents. Always blame the parents.

Wild to slug in a match that doesn't even reflect on MMR or stats or anything. 2v8 is one of the few things that should just be for fun. I guess there are some scuzzy duos out there. Also wild to gloat about winning a match that was almost impossible to loose.

Have hope though, there's plenty of us non-toxics out there still. We're just not as visible.

Small ttv like this have high chance they will be toxic or annoyed by something you do and other thing is they play atleast with one friend most times or more so high chance for swf from duo to squad.

I feel you. Luckily I usually play 2v8 in duos so I can always rely on someone but it gets tough to not get angry sometimes. If some survivor bags we usually double team then double bm back. Not noticed much slugging from the survivor angle tho, besides one oni but he has no choice really. I been tunnelled a couple times tho.

But this community loves just eating itself alive. I played a game of springtrap a few weeks ago (last time I played before 2v8) and I got eyrie and had a pretty fun, fair match. I had fun chases, got fun axe hits, good undetectable plays and I used the fast break meme build with oppression. I ended up catching two and two got out, which I was kinda happy about, they played their hearts out. I said gg. They called me a pos. I never tunnelled, insta picked up, didn't camp but somehow I'm a pos after actively being weak. Next game I got called the r slur for letting an obvious baby survivor escape.

Nearly every small streamer I have played with has been toxic. I've played with most notable streamers on NA East and have never had a bad experience. Not sure what it is about the smaller streamers. Maybe there's a reason why they aren't popular

In my experience most toxicity in games comes from people putting unreasonably high expectations on their fellow players and allowing themselves to get upset when those expectations are not met.

It feels rare to talk to a killer main who has played DBD for 6+ years who doesn't think every survivor is a 5 gen chase juicer. "If you're losing to Legion in chase you're just bad."

Honey, this person plays like 5 rounds of DBD each week. You are ridiculous if you think they're not allowed to lose chase to M1 killers.

It’s sad you faced this. Sometimes people win so rare they trying to make a whole party for it.

In 1 vs 4 this clearly have to be solved by better matchmaking. But what we can do for events… I have no clue :/
