2v8 Bloodpoints Reduction (From x5 to x3)
Hello,
I wanted to discuss the recent change in the Bloodpoints bonus for the 2v8 mode, which has dropped from 500% to 300%. If playing as a survivor in 2v8 now comes with a reduced Bloodpoints bonus, what’s the incentive to choose that mode? In regular matches, players (including killers) still have the opportunity to earn 500% with offerings like Bloody Party Streamers or Anniversary Cake.
What’s the reasoning behind this reduction in the Bloodpoints bonus?

Honestly even a blood hunt would be nice to encourage more people to play both sides

I agree with this post.
Essentially, the 2v8 mode has the feel of a special event. I've waited several months for this mode, but it's somewhat disappointing that there isn't much of a difference in incentives compared to the normal mode where offerings can be used. This is not even to mention the 20-30 minute queue times for killers.
Because both survivors and killers have limited perks in the 2v8 mode, the gameplay is restricted and can become repetitive and boring. I also find myself playing a round or two, getting bored, and then turning the game off and on again.
If the Bloodpoints were 5x, I would have gladly enjoyed it. I ask the developers to please reconsider, taking the points above into account.

2v8 is such a trash mode. The blood point gains are the only reason to play and even with a 5x multiplier in the previous 2v8 killer queues were still VERY LONG. Idk what the devs were thinking reducing the multiplier, or more than likely… they weren’t thinking

Are people playing 2v8 because they like it, or because it offers more points? The only way for the devs to test this out is to lower the matchmaking incentive. If lowering the bonus points also lowers how many people play 2v8, then hopefully that lights a fire under the devs and encourages them to make meaningful changes to 2v8 (e.g. more classes).

Let me tell you, you can get more than 500% on normal mode.
Incentive in regular mode is most of the time at x2.5 - meaning you get 150% more BP.
You can get up to 5x109% (if the killer brings the cake, which they mostly do), which sums up to 545%.
Regular mode can be at 695% BP at this point, meaning almost x8.

If people wanted to enjoy the novelty of half hour queues just to kill with friends they would have stayed with TCM. I loathe this mode everytime because it ruins killer queues in the core game as well. So many players flock to this mode regardless of rewards. What are bloodpoints going to do for a crowd that comes back to this game, exclusively for this one mode, and come out with a useless currency? It's no secret that the overall player count spikes for 2v8s duration. This is because of burnout from the core game. So how are bloodpoints meant to incentivize players in a mode they cannot unlock perks, bring items, equip add ons, or burn offerings?

The claim that the total player count surges during the 2v8 mode period is not strongly supported by data—although the data is limited to the Steam platform, the chart shows that the increase is not particularly significant. Please refer to:

Additionally, even in the normal mode, matchmaking times vary by time of day, with either survivors or killers waiting longer depending on the region and hour, but there is no substantial increase overall. Please see:
The 2v8 mode, as mentioned, is event-based in nature, and it is reasonable to assume that players who have been waiting for it would expect special rewards. The current 3x Bloodpoint bonus appears to serve that purpose. Moreover, this seems to be a measure to offset the inherent limitations of the 2v8 mode—for example, the fatigue caused by fixed classes and the inability to freely customize perks. Of course, since similar bonus rates can be achieved in normal mode through offerings, the lack of the expected 5× multiplier may understandably leave some players feeling disappointed.
