i personally would only uninstall because of toxicity because i do really like this game :3

Honestly love the game but getting a bit tired of the deck getting further stacked against the power role. Gen speeds wildly out of control, second chance crutch perks and uncounterable situations. Yet my killers power is easily counterable.
And what's worse if this daft ptb goes to live there is 0 reward for the killer to play the game how they apparently want us to play it.
16 -
This is exactly what I do think it feels like most of my matches. It just feels like ur forced to play how others want you to play
13 -
It's boring. There's almost no reward for improving.
I have to play twenty matches on average until I'm challenged, unless I'm running some kind of meme build or purposefully handicapping myself.
The best strategies (tunneling, proxying and situational slugging) are all the same as they were when I started playing eight years ago. Eight years of a single meta is horrifically boring, not even getting into a balance discussion. The game actively punishes you for trying to avoid those strategies and continuously rewards you for using them, despite the fact that nobody likes to play against them.
To summarize, Killer is boring because the lowest skill strategies, which have been meta for almost a decade, are encouraged whilst high skill expression is continuously penalized. Couple that with general burnout and a lack of challenge, and you get a very bored and disappointed Killer main.

I haven't uninstalled; I just stopped playing killer. I play The Unknown mainly and everyone has said he needs a buff. When I'm not playing unknown, I am struggling with all my matches as other killers. I occasionally have to throw several matches in order to lower my MMR so I can actually enjoy playing killer but now I've just stopped altogether. My main issue is that there are too many advantages as a survivor, and I say this as a survivor player. 2 gen pop every match after first hook, constantly stunned or blinded, body blocking, DS, I get hit with almost all of it in every match. You could say I have a skill issue, but if I have to intentionally lower my MMR to get a win that's saying something in itself. If I played Nurse or Blight, I'd probably have a better time but I'm on console, so the heightens the difficulty playing them quite a bit.
10 -
— Limited mechanics
— Poor technical performance
— Inconsistent MMR
— High dependency on RNG
— Perks system is redundant and I feel should go away completely
— Lack of self awareness from devs, screwed data and lack of trustworthiness
— Disrespect to non casual players in community, even if they are actually that type of players who keep consistent online and engagement in media
— Catering to braindead style of play (I don’t call it casual, because casuals still struggle anyway because this game can’t separate, entertain in proper way, and don’t teach them at the same time, so they still left unsatisfied)
— Scam instead of skins (bugs, lazy designs, p2l skins, limited animations, old characters are not updated visually to stay in time)
— Limitation of contents in DLCs. Content is raw, lack of deep consideration
It can be endless to be honest. But this bother me a lot. If trying to keep it in one line and somehow stay respected — “I feel devs now lacking of own vision and what they actually need to do for the game, so putting it on endless conveyer to gather the max profit is their only option”

Insane surv handholding.
Remember when killers were supposed to be the power role in this game "dead" in "dead by daylight" being the operative word?
Now, with "updates by spreadsheet" by devs who never play as and don't understand the role of killer, we have a game that is essentially a "pallet break simulator" for killers. Survs run to a pallet, drop it, run five feet (because pallets are genuinely that copious and close to each other these days) rinse and repeat.
Don't even get me started on this recent mess of a ptb where killers are punished for having just about any kind of valid strategy play.
1 -
Seems to be spot on...
As someone who doesn't tunnel, slug or camp, who likes playing Pig because her RBTs give her a reason baked into her design not to tunnel... I've never known this game be harder for my killer.
Pallets everywhere, barely any tiles I can actually play my power cause people just leave tile and hold W to the next pallet every time I crouch... and there is ALWAYS another pallet in reach. Every single mechanism of putting up a fight outside of stacking gen perks to slow down the game and tunneling has just become increasingly trash... and nowadays I end up fighting my arse off every game just to get 4 hooks. Genuinely I find Trapper easier, because at least on Trapper I can shut down the god pallet chains eventually...
Like ye I can dominate scrubs, but you can immediately feel whether a Survivor is good or bad in this game, and trying to catch a good one is just such a fast track to embarrassment in so many maps now if you're playimg off meta/not playing uber sweaty.
The PTB isn't gonna change how I play, I already play that way... but it looks so unbelievably miserable... I already have to look at going balls to the wall sweaty just to not get run over with Pig now... and if I get in a bad mood from getting smoked on repeat, I have to fall back to playing nasty and going hard. Will be even worse now, since the buffs to Survivor are taking away even more lethality from my RBTs, and I'm gonna have people weaponising the anti-tunnel effects to screw me even more than the game already does with its endless scores of pallets.
Trying to play fun is just punished so hard in this game... 😒

- Entitled survivors toxic as hell.
- Doesn't matter what you do or how you play they can and will complain over anything and everything you can think of.
- Too many i see refuse to try to improve instead they just give up and complain.
- I'll gladly be tunneled myself every game as it WILL improve my looping and running skills. If i die? Don't care next game.
- Too many pallets making the weaker M1 killer roster feel horrible
- Gens fly and sometimes there's nothing i can do to prevent it.
- Giving all these hand holding buffs for survivors when killer want to rush their objective for a kill, but killers get nothing to help them out when survivors are rushing their objective.
- Some killers are left bugged for so long making them feel miserable to play as.
- I have to put in far more effort as killer than what survivors have to. Making the killer role a lot more stressful since they put up with a lot more pressure.
- Playing survivor is way more chill than killer.
- Skull Merchant being butchered and intentionally left in a horrible state for almost a year only because of the mass bitching from survivors instead of improving when she was in a healthier state. (2.0)

I was playing a bit of wolf-only Dracula for funsies but double nerfing the dog (base+addon) convinced me to wait for the anti tunnel/slug changes that were supposed to have come out.
I get drac is a top tier, but I've literally seen 0 people use dog addons lol.

I don't even think it's necessarily unbalanced, but the doubling-down on anti-fun is baffling.
The game was better when there was more busted stuff on either side, it was chaotic and you never knew what you were getting. Yeah, it could be really frustrating. But there was also way more fun to be had in a pre-MMR world.
-7 -
For players like you who ''lack'' challenge, there's already a DBD League or alike stuff where I'm sure you will find yourself entertained or end up entertaining someone else.
The way I see it, many people may uninstall the game because of match quality inconsistency and drastic balance changes / reworks that devs tend to do. Simply speaking it's no fun when one game you get 4k with no gens being done and the other game you have 4e with barely any hooks made. As for the other reason - when a killer gets ''gutted'' one way or another, some people lose motivation to play because they no longer consider dedicating their time learning / improving a certain character since at any point their experience or knowledge can become invalidated due to mechanics being either removed or altered into less effective form.
-2 -
I did dabble in competitive DBD, not sure if there's any surviving footage, but I was there lol.
I mean, if you only liked a character because they were strong, or problematic, that's on you. I enjoyed playing OG Legion, I wasn't upset when he got changed. I was upset he was dumpstered for 3 years, but I understood that he was massively problematic and needed to get changed drastically.
11 -
I still play survivor occasionally, but I stopped killer mostly due to accessibility. Tracking has always been a vital skill for killers especially, and I have problems with both my hearing and vision that have always been an issue to varying degrees. Fog vials were the last straw but then they nerfed them into uselessness outside of people like myself so now they're both too weak to use and still prevent me from wanting to even try in case they are. Changing the scratch mark color was actually a very positive change in this direction, but its not enough for me to keep up with the speed of the game, so I don't. Its not that I'm completely blind and deaf, but even minor delays in perception can be the difference between something like hitting a window vault or not, and its just too frustrating when your limitations get in the way. Things like BM just become a twist of the knife at that point, so I'd rather just play other things and avoid the negativity.
0 -
You can always play with more skilled players, just outside official MM. FaceIt and other gaming platforms do offer such experience.
As for overtunned or problematic killers - that's rather subjective view. Thing is the ''treatment'' that devs do often leaves the killer in the D ( Dumpster ) or even below tier. For players who enjoyed the particular killer or even bought a rather expensive skin too, that's a massive turn-off, for some enough to leave the game for a rather long period of time.
-4 -
Like I said, I did it.
Yes, well, that's the way Live Service games go. You can't just expect overpowered or problematic things to go unchanged.
7 -
DBD is supposedly an "Asymmetrical Horror Game" as we know. It's supposed to be power-sided towards the killer. Not a lot, like 60% to 40% This is the genre DBD belongs to. Remember other games in the same genre that got nerfed into oblivion for the killer aspects, such as Killer Clowns, for example? Evil Dead? Dead and gone games, and why? The devs catered to the non-killer side and made the "killers" in their case a joke and unplayable. There are videos online I saw on YT that show a Clowns match where the clown players were getting what could basically be called a digital swirly by the non-killer players.
DBD is following the same path towards it's own demise. Devs that say themselves they are survivor mains and some that don't even play DBD.
Some of you guys may remember years back when a BHVR dev was being interviewed by a Korean gaming outlet and was challenged to a match by 4 guys who played as a regular SWF team. This was when the flashlights had the "insta-blind" with the iridescent bulb addons that when used would instantly blind the killer, and all 4 players had it. They bullied the dev playing the killer so badly that when he left, they fully retuned and nerfed the flashlight setup almost immediately. The worst part about this was it wasn't like the community at that time had been quiet about this problem, quite the opposite, but it went largely unheard until it happened to a BHVR dev.
Sadly, it seems the devs still haven't learned and are still following the "blind-eye" mentality. If it continues along this path, DBD will join Evil Dead and KC from OS.
9 -
When I started playing DbD in Summer 2023 I played Killer and Survivor evenly but at some point Killer became so obnoxiously stressful that I started playing survivor more and only played Killer when I had a challenge to do or a new Killer came out and I was trying to get their adept. At the current day I have so much killer anxiety that I really almost feel physically ill just thinking about playing Killer and even when I play survivor and the Killer isn't getting any hooks etc. I feel so bad because I know how frustrating it is.
The biggest issue imo is the gen speed and I say that as a survivor because even when I play survivor I find the gens get done too fast, like the killer hasn't even gone anywhere yet and already a gen is done. And yes that also happens in SoloQ not just with SFWs - I got accused of being in a SWF with people even though we all were SoloQ players.
And then the "tunnelling and slugging reduction" - yeah Survivors are allowed to "rush" their objectives (Genrators) but Killers aren't allowed to rush theirs (killing survivors)???
Then the pallet update made it even more annoying on top of all the second chances survivors get (DS, DH etc.)
6 -
I’m not going to uninstall, but agree with the “handholding”. Good survivors who know how to properly loop have no problem escaping either against me when I play killer or as my teammates when I play survivor. Every game has a skill curve and it feels like all the complaints asking for killer nerfs/survivor buffs are coming from the lower end of the curve.

I still like this game a lot but i will point it out what make me want to play less:
Very stale killer meta: if i want to play to win, i need to use some form of antigen, specially on weaker killers. I really wish we could use more diverse build without the feeling that antigen perks must be on my build.
Hooks mean nothing, deaths mean everything: i feel i get punished for not hooking the same person in sequence. I really would like to have some incentive to go for chases instead of just hooking one or two survivors until the match is over.
"""""Abusable"""""" survivor perks: some survivor perks and items are super strong in coordinated teams and some of them punishes the killer for the survivor mistakes. For example Shoulder the Burden: This perk is very strong in a coordinated team and can be used against a killer who are not tunneling, making the match much harder than it should be if he was tunneling.
Toolboxes and gen perks: these items and perks require no skill and can reduce gen times by amusing amounts of time. Its ironic that their direct counter is tunneling, camping and Slugging, which everyone seems to hate.
Killer queue times: Somedays i can only play early in the morning when killer queue times are 7min+ (Much higher when 2v8 is around). I wish the play while you wait feature was added to 1v4 too.
Not properly working MMR: i have a quite high killrate according to dbd stats but i don't consider myself on the most skilled end of the MMR. Either way, I'm constantly facing winstreaks from people with 8k+ hours or some of the sweatiest teams out there. Also, i shouldn't face baby players, what happens sometimes. We should have ways to know which mmr "bracket" we are and the "bracket" of our opponents, to give better feedback on matchmaking.
Toxicity in postgame chat: althought is our choice to see the postgame chat as we can close it and don't read anything, feels bad knowing someone will trash talk for almost no reason (even though this can happen in any online game). Maybe the post chat should be removed and reworked into a props system.
10 -
Even High MMR Survivors, for whatever that's worth, are dying quite often.
As are 4-man SWF's, before anyone mentions them.

It's not that hard to reach ceiling in this game when you’ stomp majority.
I don't know Pulsar really well, but I remember he shared with his stats after their site release, and it was high. It's a bad argument to use “Then go and play” until you ain't actually sure that this person lack of experience.
6 -
I will probably win all ten. I'm not going to VPN onto UK servers, that would make it much easier.
I've played against competitive teams in pubs, plus people like Tru3, Hens and others when the MMR was all weird and matching outside of my server.
-1 -
With the way things are going (via-a-vis survivor hand-holding) perhaps they should rename the game "Coddled by daylight".
-7 -
I didn't uninstall the game but I have three general frustrations with the killer role. Killers can be over stimulating, or very high risk low reward. The recent pallet density changes made this very clear. Some of them have visual or gameplay bugs that haven't been fixed until this day.
Toxicity in general. Even if you disable endgame chat or leave immidiatly, they'll still try to contact you anyway to talk crap about your performance, I had to private my steam profile to stop getting hate comments after most matches.
And finally, the way the devs that handle the balance of this game often say very unprofessional things in most of their streams. I won't list names or go into details, but it has been very bad to see this game this terribly mismanaged and given multiple empty promises.7 -
I just wanted to add why I would uninstall the game is that its the lack of care in the devs, the invisibility they put on the Killer side.
It may not kill the game but it will put a huge scar on the game that will never heal even if they fixed the game. The damage is done.
They dont play there own game if they do it is just the survivor side sense the main game designer is a survivor main.
The lack of control of how you want to play the game is limited and the freedom of how you want to play is restricted to one way of playing (spread hooks). I like having control of what I buy and if I cant play for what I bought because the game technically says so.
The Words of every time you get a new killer/survivor when you make ur build of (fill free to experiment) Feels like a big Lie.
Why should you play DBD if the who purpose of making ur own build/Killer and Survivor is not allowed in a mental standpoint.
Thats my take on why I would uninstall the game

If you are mid tier, you arent playing against the cream of the crop consistently.
Just not how DBD works, unless you play at degen hours in a tiny region.
2 -
I've stopped playing killer due to multiple reasons.
- Most of the killers i normally play are always bugged somehow, and behaviour takes too long to fix killer bugs.
- Pallet density. I tried playing killer after the new pallet density, and it was miserable. Now multiple maps give me the same feeling as badham always gives me due to knowing how many strong tiles there is that you can join together.
- Survivor toxicity. Getting bagged, bullied and called names in endgame chat ,no matter how well or poorly you did. I know i can close the endgame chat and not see whatever is being said, but that already shows how bad the game is if you have to do that to have fun.
- Survivors getting basekit perks, while killers get 15 seconds of bloodlust and minor brutal strenght which i personally never even noticed.
- Having to use the same 4-6 perks, just to keep the game going long enough to get few kills. Can't use fun perks or have interesting builds because you know its highly likely that gens will go too fast if you don't have pain res, pop, dead man switch ..you know the deal.
- Even while having gen defense perks the gens are going by too fast.
- Sounds in game. I enjoy playing spirit, but the game has way too loud chase music, too many notification sounds that are loud and survivors love spamming them. When you sacrifice a survivor the part where entity takes them away is so loud and so long lasting i can't hear my own thoughts.
- You have to play spirit on lower fps to hear properly and even then the sounds are inconsistent.
- Playing killers like ghoul and krasue gets you insulted.
- Windows of Opportunity being in every game. This perk alone extends chases and now with the new pallet density all most survivors do is run from yellow to yellow. Chases feel boring and same all the time, and most of the time even bad survivor can extend a chase with that perk alone by finding a strong pallet.
- Killers are getting punished of playing certain ways, but instead of teaching newer or less skillful survivors and killers basics of the game or making a mode where lets say under 100 hour players can play together and learn the game, you restrict killers from doing something that can help them win the game. (I'm not talking about 5 gen tunneling btw).
There is so many reasons i stopped enjoying playing killer, but these are the main reasons for me.
edit: fixed one line.

- Toxicity - The toxicity you face when playing killer is kind of insane, both in game and in post game chat/people posting on your profile.
- Balance - A large chunk of the killers I enjoy playing are weak and in the lower tiers, and my favourite killer, Skull Merchant is so bad that she feels unplayable against any survivors even remotely decent at the game. With the game being balanced around high tier killers and updates like changes to the pallet density, things become even harder for those weaker killers ever patch.
- Gen speeds - If survivors just focus on gens and don't mess around doing totems/chests/hiding the gen speeds can often feel unmanageable, especially with the constant gen regression nerfs.
- Map imbalance - Maps are incredibly poorly balanced, even more so after the pallet density update. Some maps such as midwich are pretty killer sided but then you have maps like badham or asylum which are incredibly survivor sided.
8 -
You could say the exact same for Survivors.
The strongest strategies to play Survivor are prerunning (optimal with Sprintburst) and predropping pallets.
Both sides have really boring strategies which are way to powerful on how easy they are to pull off.
Sorry for that…
I don´t like to play Killer anymore, because my mains , Chucky, Myers and Clown have been butcherd though Nerfs, Changes or beeing hated by anyone.
9 -
Intentional "Nerf so nobody plays it" being a thing at BHVR is uninstall worthy.
Like if complaints are too much the devs will nerf everything on the killer.
4 -
My reasons for uninstalling aren't exclusive to the killer role but I think this thread is definitely worth keeping relevant.
Matchmaking is terrible. Most games I end up getting stomped by people way better than me, then eventually after 4-5 games of misery, the game decides to throw what I can only assume are brand new players at me. I slaughter them, presumably my MMR goes up just enough to then give me sweaty games again. Most games for me are either 0K or very rarely a 1K because a survivor is giving me a pity kill with a 3K w/ hatch or a 4K sprinkled in the middle. Stats wise, it puts me right where BHVR want me on kill rates but the experience is exhausting.
Usually I'm pro SBMM but DbD is the only game I've played where I actively feel like matches are rigged from the start in order for the result to fit a spreadsheet.
6 -
Yes, you could.
Stale meta is stale.

Frustration and boredom.
Game often feels like just a pallett stand off Simulator. Most players rarely mindgame cause just running from pallett to pallett is way more efficient. So many chases especially with m1 killers always feel the same. Also everything (builds, looping etc.) is super optimised on most survivors which adds to the feeling that it's always the same.
But also frustration. I really want to play every killer but I feel like with many killers I just have to be prepared to get absolutely rolled. Not talking about winning but the feeling that you stand absolutely 0 chance in this match just cause of ur killer pick and cause ur not playing optimised af
8 -
My biggest reason for not enjoying killer is frankly all the DC's and self-sacrifices. I try to play fairly as I can as killer but the amount of survivors just giving up early or half way into the match is just getting silly now. Even when I go out of my way to make things as fair as possible sometimes they'll still just give up and it makes me feel like my time isn't being respected so why bother playing matches myself? They really do need to rework the tutorial and make it better, I'd even add that they should rework the base game survivor perks into something more like Deja Vu where they help teach good fundamentals to survivors.
2 -
Survivor toxicity.
You could be playing someone like skull merchant and they will still say it needs a nerf while at the same time they will just be sitting in a locker right behind a downed survivor and save them and say it’s balanced
Or have decisive strike which literally lets you get off the killer after you get hooked once
0 -
As killer, if i was to ever uninstall the game the reasons would be…
- toxic survivors
- killer roster being redundant which is becoming the case at the moment.
luckily the only reason i havnt uninstalled is because
- i dont care about toxic survivors, they dont bother me when i win
- the solution to redundant killers that cant keep up is to tunnel
But if i suddenly became bothered by the comments people say and do and tunneling got removed without serious buffs to get the low tier killers in line with top tier then i simply wouldnt play killer at all….ever
1 -
Thank you everyone who has put ur feedback and even if its good or bad it still helps. Even Survivor pov.
Honestly i made this to allow players too have a comfortable place to say there opinions without judgement. If you want me to do a survivor feedback post just let me know. I want both sides to feel needed in this game
4 -
In short: DBD doesn't respect your time.
Q 10mins as killer… Either you get an under 5mins genrush squad or you get ppl who instantly DC. DBD is simply not worth playing anymore.
So then you play some survivor instead, escape the majority of your matches until you hit that mark where you only see Blights and Ghouls. Game gets stale as hell.

when i started playing in august of 2023 i mained killer, it was months before i played survivor on a daily basis. Everything was great i was having fun with the role until houndmaster came out and it just idk got unfun. Every patch starting from Doomed Course has left me feeling less and less thrilled to play because it just started feeling like a stressful chore with with 4 people poking me with a stick and laughing at me. Now with the gens speeds and all these freaking planks of wood everywhere the role is pretty much dead to me. I dont feel satisfied winning and i dont feel satisfied losing. I'm tired man.

I have not uninstalled yet, but I'd still like to give my two cents on what is slowly making me consider it.
I feel as if the low tier killers are more stressful to play due to recent changes and the upcoming changes. I love playing Sadako, even the current one, but the sheer amount of pallets and her power being very easy to deal with combine into a tedium that even I can't keep up with. And now, I play more powerful killers just to have an enjoyable time.
And this is coming from someone who does play as fair as I can. Spreading hooks, not spamming my power, not using the meta, and not tunneling/camping unless there's 1 gen left or it's endgame. And yet, despite all that, I'll still get insults and accused of doing things I wasn't anyway to the point where I just keep my steam profile comments locked to friends only because I just don't want to deal with the community's toxicity when DBD is only one game out of many I play.
And BHVR doesn't really seem to care about these core issues? For years I've advocated for better tutorials and even a comprehensive guide to the deeper mechanics, perk and buff/debuff explanations and so on with an in-game compendium that other games have done successfully. Imagine if you went against something you had no idea how it worked, and then your compendium auto-updates with the perks/addons/items etc that you faced with an alert so you can read it, learn about it, and formulate how to go against it later instead of waiting for the end of the match for the killer's stuff to appear or to try and find it in the shop via the info tab on each character.
But, I digress, I still haven't uninstalled but it's feeling more tempting as each new disappointing patch rolls in.
Edit: Oh and the sheer amount of perks that are pointless to run, that doesn't help. I like running weird builds, but only when there's value in running them. Not in an auto-win or make it easier argument, I mean in a way we can use combination for fun without breaking the game or feeling like it's underwhelming. This goes for survivor too.6 -
Queue times, the way killer has been treated lately, the number of useless perks, the slow loss of unique gameplay style, too may pallets, the unnecessary nerfs, kaneki, countless bugs, as well as much more in the recent years.
