Guesses for the Next Chapter?
There's been a lot of focus on the issues and changes seen in the most recent PTB, but I wanted to take a bit of a break from them and get back to some good old fashioned Chapter speculation.
A lot of the talk I've seen has been about a sequel chapter of some kind, with either Strange Things part 2 and another Vecna headlining it, or a Resident Evil Part 3 featuring Biohazard or Village bent content depending on the killer.
I'm going to buck that trend and instead propose a different idea, one that I feel like lines up well with the evidence we have.
The Black Phone 2 (no spoilers) ages up its leads to being 18 and has lore extremely compatible with a kidnapping from the Entity. The brother sister duo from this series would fit well with the two new survivors seen on the roadmap (not to say that RE and Strangers don't have two survivors options either, they do), and The Grabber's belt and axe wielding with a secondary Phone mechanic could make for a rather interesting power.
Two things that make me suspect the next chapter is indeed the Black Phone is its timing window and the involvement of Blumhouse with BHVR.
- Had the new Chapter not been delayed, it would have been revealed and on PTB at the time Black Phone 2 hit theaters. Could be a coincidence, but my hat wouldn't be tinfoil if I believed in those.
- Fnaf movie assets present on the map were likely licensed not just from Scott Cawthon but also in collaboration with Blumhouse, with definite confirmation Blumhouse licensed the Yellow Rabbit skin for them.
With such a large push at Blumhouse for characters like The Grabber and Megan to be seen as horror icons, I find it hard to believe this conversation with BHVR hasn't taken place, although whether it has led to The Grabber being the next killer, we'll have to wait and see.

Stranger Things 2 would get me reinvested in DBD.

same here. i also find it very hard for it not to be ST 2 since the final season is about to release and they are really going all out with the collabs and promo for it. multiple video games are getting ST collabs like fortnite, minecraft, brawl stars, etc. they also have multiple collabs with food like kfc, chips ahoy, mcdonald’s, etc. they even have a collab with Tide the laundry detergent. With them wanting to go all out with collabs, i find it hard to believe they would forget about DbD, one of if not their most successful video game collab.

Apparently Stranger Things pulled the license again from dbd the chapter is gonna be no longer for sale again so my geuss is it ain't stranger things and more likely Jason

that’s false news. the chapter just went on sale for all platforms for the first time in many years. also, the dbd twitter post about Stranger Things Day says “Here’s to many more chases in the Hawkins Lab.” I doubt they would say that line if the chapter was going to be removed again soon.

Aside from all the likely part 2's like stranger things, dungeons n dragons, silent hill, resident evil part3, my guess is the Thing. Due to having a the thing themed map last year with houndmaster for no reason. And how she just got shoved into the game with no announcements or teases or anything.
The thing 2 is also apparently in the works with james cameron making it again so the license is still active.
Itd also be the least expected big license and would be a huge suprise like Chucky was the previous november

New Predator movie out, so that's a possibility. We got the Alien license so it's only a matter of time. Stranger Things could also be an option since it's the final season, so best time for everyone involved to cash in again on the franchise. Other than those, I'm drawing a blank.

I could see Predator for sure, I just struggle to imagine who the second survivor would be. There is support for Dutch and Naru, and a double chapter with them and the Jungle Hunter (with a Feral Predator skin) sounds fire, but idk, it would be a bit weird to add two characters together from entirely separate time periods.
It does seem like Stranger Things is lined up for the next chapter, although my only caveat is that I'm not sure BHVR would want to make new deals with them after the first fiasco. Definitely seems like the people's choice (which is tough competition when RE is on the table)

I feel like if it was Predator then there would have been a bigger push by Disney for it to come before the movie to increase publicity and interest.
Being they are more welcoming of anime and video game additions, there are a lot more possible areas than there used to be.

Possibly. We know it was originally supposed to be out this month, which would have made sense timing-wise. I think once a license has been sold though that it's no longer up to the license holder to have any sort of say, it would simply be down to when it suited BHVR (could be wrong). But the new timing - January - puts it around the final ST episode (New Years Eve i think it is?) so I'd probably lean more towards that.

Is the next one licensed? I'd still like to see The Predator, The Thing, Candyman and Jason but I don't think it'll be any of those yet. I do think the popularity of Terrifier has probably made Behaviour consider adding Art at some point

ST Vecna is just Temu Freddy. I don't know why anybody would want this other than the usual license hype without considering how it would fit into the game.
Predator would be fine. Wraith with a tri-dot laser blaster, optional thermal vision and spine-rip mori. You could even give him a unique end-game collapse with a self-destruct countdown.
I can't imagine anything less interesting than Bland Phone or any other Blumslop.
Although after Ghoul and Krabby Sue, I'll take anything as long as the gameplay is fun.

Silent Hill f or Silent Hill 1 would make for excellent sequel chapters. I hope this is something the game explores more of, although it might be risky to tie so much content to 1 licence holder.
We're in for a full on Double Survivor, Map, and Killer licensed chapter next. I think we'll definitely get Art at some point, although he doesn't have a solid choice for a second survivor imo (maybe the brother that dies off screen)
Looks like whatever we are getting is going to be a big one in expectation, which is probably what prompted it to be delayed.

My best guess is a Stranger Things Part 2. I feel like it's now or never for a second chapter and it definitely has enough content for two more Survivors and another map. BHVR's relationship with Netflix also seems to have repaired itself somewhat, plus there are the recent sales and Hawkins Lab changes. Of course it could also be Predator as well, since that neatly lines up with the new film release and Naru and Taabe from Prey would make a good pair of Survivors.
That said, I think there may be an outside chance for it to be Gremlins. One of the few chapters I can think of that can support two Survivors (Billy and Kate), a map (Kingston Falls) and be aiming for a release around about Christmas time. They might want to hold a Gremlins chapter back for when the third movie comes out, though.
But honestly, I really have no idea.
