Tim and Tom - Exploded on Reddit
I was surprised to see this get so much traction on Reddit (now in 'best' posts with over 1k comments).
Seems a bit wild to me.
What do you guys/gals think?

The most important takeaway from this post is that Dead Cells is a REALLY good game.

I do not deny that players like that exist.

It's pretty good.
Playing Silly Polly Beast now - p fun.0 -
Remember when people told BHVR to remove the cooldown on Windows?

Tribalism is always popular, that doesn't mean it's healthy.
12 -
5.4k upvotes to 1k comments indicates that it's probably at least a bit controversial, to be honest.

Here's the top posts and how many comments they have received.
Well under 1000 for most of them.
There is some pretty good stuff there, though >:3

Oh yeah, that one gave me a chuckle.

You can make the exact same thing with the sides reversed.
1 -
It's probably a bunch of people who don't even play the game for all we know and just watch it.
-3 -
At this point with how bad Tribalism has gotten i just want yall to fight to the death with spears made of rock like actually cavemen did.

holy passive aggressiveness batman
not hard to find people who like tribalism and such on reddit. That’s a core part of their platform and has been since inception, what with up/downvotes and the app actively hiding downvoted posts and opinions. Thankfully, this forum doesn’t do that, so your heavily downvoted post is just as visible as usual ;)

Holly molly this forums are minimaly same at tribalism and downvoting to oblivion as reddit.
-8 -
It's literally just the rock paper scissors meme but the person is serious.
"I only play heckin wholesome off meta killers and build. It's the survivors playing meta who are the problem"

Forum here is survivor sided. Ofc they don't like it
-7 -
Literally proving the "us vs them" comment right
6 -
Remember when people actually finished their thoughts instead of dropping half a memory and walking away?
-2 -
It's dumb and divisive tribalism that serves no purpose except to rile people up further.
You'll forgive me if I take exception to that.
5 -
Remember when the forums were not so hostile?

The forum has been overflowing with killer-players crying about pallets, handholding, survey representation, the upcoming patch, anxiety, tbagging, and the imaginary struggle to play anyone who isn't Ghoul or Blight while acting like downtrodden, second-class citizens for weeks. It's not anything sided, it just goes in waves and reflects whoever feels like the biggest victim at the moment. The survivor wave will come if the pallets get reverted but the main buildings stay nerfed, and the next patch does nothing of value against cheese tactics.

Still, you can't deny what it says are mostly correct.
Once the update goes live, it's gonna be miserable against this type of Survivors, because it's insanely hard to punish them unless you're playing S-tier killers.

As far as I've been told, it already is.

On the one hand, that's a very compelling story. On the other hand,

So, no context to add about your Windows comment? Just vibes?

Considering there is an event going on, looking at queue times are completely worthless. In my experience the queue times fluctuate wildly depending on the time of day when there is no event, with killer queues being longer during the day and survivor queues being longer in the evening and at night.

why would an event cause looking at queue times to be worthless? if not enough people wanna play survivor & too many people wanna play killer, that's just how the distribution of players is, event or no
if survivor queues are at their longest at night; and the queue times that I uploaded at night, western hemisphere time, show that the killer queue is over a minute whereas the survivor queue is 6 seconds; surely that is further indication that the player base is currently skewing more killer-favoring

For one, a decent amount of the playerbase isn't playing 1v4 because they are in 2v8. Second, survivor players who would normally not play killer and play survivor in 1v4 play killer during 2v8 because they can play with their friends. It doesn't give an accurate view of what the queue times are actually like when the only mode active is 1v4.
It has been like this since the first iteration of 2v8. Check the queue times when the event is over when they are actually relevant.0 -
I checked the twitter account for that website (which archives the queue times every 3 hours) and for November 5th, the day before the event started, it was more individual queue slots were longer for killer, but only slightly more; but the peak times were worse for survivor; it probably evens out across all times.
I guess I stand corrected on that front; my experience contradicts that evidence but I haven't played in about 2 months so I trust the data scraped directly from the servers

Not at all the same. Very different, in fact.
On reddit, the algorithm by default sends the most upvoted posts to the front of your page and puts the most upvoted comments at the top. Meanwhile, the most downvoted comments and posts are at the bottom (meaning the average user will never see them unless they explicitly go out of their way to look), and they also minimize downvoted comments as a default setting. In comparison, this forum sorts post by most recent reply and replies by date. No matter how many downvotes I get, my words are not being hidden or filtered by an algorithm, nor are anyone else’s boosted. There are still plenty of people here with tribalist mindsets that downvote anything they disagree with, but here you don’t have to care about it because it means literally nothing. Which is why I prefer this forum way more as a place you can actually have a discussion in without the bias of the masses controlling what you see.
