2v8 Disaster Match Making
I don't get this. Literally for me since yesterday, when I play as a survivor, I've only escaped twice. That's because all the other times, my whole team, as usual, won't do gens, they hide, etc. Oh, and I did have a shot at the hatch once. It spawned next to a window, literally, and an Oni was behind me. Did I make hatch? No! The game thought I wanted the window instead! Smacked and killed by the Oni.
When I've been able to play as the killer, the survivors finish the gens in minutes, flashlight save, have time for tea bags, all of it. This is ridiculous.

It doesnt help that they have both the ptb and 2v8 on at the same time, which splits a lot of pc players from the event

I play on PC and have had pretty good luck with 2v8 survivor teams so far by avoiding lobbies with too many console players and also checking people’s play time if they are PC on Steam. Sometimes you gotta take matchmaking into your own hands 😉

I won’t lie Dracula 3 pounce wolf is the most least skilled ability I’ve ever seen in dbd
5 -
On the other hand you can doge it in open because his flicking from third camera is quite hard compare to weskers first person.

I mean, I prefer the mode having no SBMM, it's the most fun I've had in ages, just enjoy yourself, you don't need to win it's broken fun thats the point.

If it makes you feel any better, the same thing happens in normal 1v4 matchmaking

That's what I'm hoping for. Queues should indeed get better after this lackluster, disastrous PTB ends this Tuesday.

I'm calling it, there's bots, there is absolutely bots in some of the Surv matches. It's either I get real human beings while playing and we do gens, or I get a lobby of bots who just stand around. I got hooked earlier and watched as every single other player was just sitting in a corner, real human beings don't play like that lol

Probably very likely.

I've had a shockingly good experience as survivor so far and I usually hate 2v8. Played 12 matches, 8 were escapes, teammates are doing end game saves, looping well, and rats and potatoes have been rare. A lot of killer players are clearly using killers theydon't have a good grasp on, particularly Pyramidhead. I don't feel like it'll last but I'll enjoy is while I can.

The downvote ninja is certainly having the time of his life right now lol

Legit has to be, because I'm seeing a lot of privatized accounts and I've been watching A LOOOOOT of those do the double vaults in the Killers faces like what we often see the official bots do. They also leave gens the millisecond there's a heartbeat or don't unhook if the Killer is around but occupied with someone else. Bots
They had bots in the past iterations, this iteration is during the worst time of DBD in tandem with the PTB.

This mode is a farce, and the amount of sweat/bots is over the top. I just waited 22 minutes for a killer match, and like I said above, the killer must have been a first-time player, a Huntress, and the survivor team finished in minutes. I truly, truly think BHVR is trolling us, because as they said themselves, they are themselves survivor mains.

Yea just like 1v4 except double the players and im still the only one doing a gen most of the time 😭
2 -
They need to remove PC from crossplay completely, in all gaming, its ruined multiplayer. PC takes no skill compared to a controller.
-1 -
2v8 is honestly straight trash. Even more now since the genius devs decided to reduce the blood point multiplier for survivor to 3x instead of the previous 5x.
Chases are boring, since you constantly get pincered by the two killers.
team mates don’t do generators.
what about killer? Have fun in 20-30 minute queue.
straight trash mode
2 -
Yeah pretty sure Dracula and PHead are free to play for this iteration, so probably alot of folks still trying to learn their powers
1 -
Oh yeah, true, they are. I'd like to try Pyramidhead but I don't want to to ruin some other killers match by bumbling about. Too bad the trial doesn't extend into 1v4.
3 -
my first match of Triangle Man I got paired with a Trapper. don't worry about it
4 -
It's pretty bad for killer side too. It kind of sucks waiting for 20 minutes to get a console player who has no clue what he was doing. Just had a baby trapper who didn't place traps and didn't get a single cage
-4 -
Nothing anyone will say can convince me there arent bot survivors in this mode. Legit survivors who will stop healing or repairing the gen the second a flicker of a terror radius is heard. I also don't understand why no one is on a gen but simultaneously I'm watching team mates die on hook. If you're not on a gen, saving anyone, or in a chase, then what on earth are you doing lol
2 -
I had a match where my six remaining teammates were all healed, had one or no hooks, weren't on gens, weren't in chase—and I died in the cage while watching them stand, crouch, and tbag.

Sounds like the games i was having. Had one where I did 2 gens on my own and then had to run around unhooking everyone because there were 4 caged and one died before i could get to them. I assumed since I was the only one on a gen that one or more of the other 3 would be taking care of unhooks/heals but they were nowhere to be seen until I was on hook and saw them hiding. When I died on hook I spectated and saw one even had 2 crows and was still crouch walking corner of the map lol it reminded me of why the only event i like is Chaos Shuffle. I only put up with this one to get the event rewards.

I kind of felt the same way with Dracula since I don't own him and saw they didn't let you load into custom bot matches with them to practice. I ended up biting the bullet and playing him in a few to knock out some rift quests that required playing as him but didn't need perks and did alright. You should try Pyramid Head out, I'm sure you'll do fine with him.

Before Nov 9th, my teammates were pretty good. The last 2 days however - awful.
From people being left on hook for entire stages, people not doing gens, saving people off hook right in the face of killers not once but twice, unhooking but not healing, etc.
IDK what changed but something definitely has, at least for my match experiences.

There absolutely are, I see it as Killer and Surv. Survs who double vault windows and pallets infront of Killers like what the bots do, Survs running into corners doing nothing, Survs not getting on gens if there's a whisper of a heart beat, Survs following you for a heal instead of going 4m over to where someone was unhooked to all heal so I can keep working on the only gen we have going, Survs not rescuing eachother off of hooks.
There's bots in the matches.

Dracula is hella fun. I'm not big on buying all these licensed killers but just the wolf and the memeing was worth the money.
I guess I'll give PH a go, but I'll do it in anon mode lol

PC takes no skill compared to a controller
Controllers nowadays are literally made to be easier to use than KB&M. Controllers are by design less skill-intensive to use than KB&M.
This should also be obvious as controllers have much more limited input options and less precision options, especially with joysticks compared to a mouse, so they have a lower skill ceiling.-2 -
Yeah I'm not a fan of this mode either. There's no strategy, just chaos. The matches are so one-sided. If you get decent players it's super fun and being silly at the gates with 5 or 6 other survivors is charming as all hell, but then there are these bizarre matches where it seems like everyone is playing for the first time ever and they think the point of the game is to hide. I had a Ghostface as killler one match who had almost 13,000 hours and I was teamed up with people who had like 200. What are you even supposed to do there?

Hot take, Trapper is goated in this mode and barely anyone realizes it.
You can 3-gen (or 6-gen actually) really well on most of the maps, and if your teammate is getting downs at least here and there, you should be able to have a tight net that no one can get through.
That said, if he pairs up with Ghostface or Deathslinger the odds are not as great.

A bad player is a bad player, regardless of platform. At least the console players are a hell of a lot less likely to be hacking.
As one of these console veteran survivors, I do a lot better than most other players in my matches 90% of the time.

Trapper can be a lot of fun here, but it depends so so much on who your killer partner is. Usually I see a ton of baby Ghostfaces and Dracula players that you can tell aren't familiar with either. Last night I was paired with 4 GF's in a row and all 4 were just crawling around trying to mark survivors and we obviously lost all 4 times.

I don't mean to downplay poor Trapper he does have his merits despite his obvious shortcomings; I just feel he is like Legion in the sense that he really needs to bounce off his partner. Ghostface and Legion for example are at odds with each other. in Trappers case, he needs somebody to shake the hornets nest to get people moving in a panic and PH is too cumbersome for that job.
I won't play him blind but paired with a faster killer like Hillbilly he can be a nice anchor tbh. it's just a shame about the Shadow class, I feel he was the killer most dependent on hiding his aura from those pesky scouts. anytime my random teammate took Shadow(usually Wesker or Legions) I knew I was in for a rough game. have you played Trapper on this 2v8 with the new Shadow? I've been a Lil afraid to try yet

Well the chaos element is an attractive part of all of it. I do believe there can be strategy. For example I play drac so I use my bat form to get to gens quickly. I'll damage the gens and get survivors at least injured for the other killer, that way the gens pop slower. Also it is fun herding survivors to the other killer. Survivor can be a lot of fun too. I love going on saving runs just outright bursting to the cages and save as many people as you can.

I guess I mean the strategy part for survivors, unless you have a big team on comms. In 1v4, I try to keep track of what gens people are doing so I can balance out what I do and keep us from getting 3genned. It's impossible in 2v8. Everyone is just doing whatever and even playing as a Guide I just can't keep up as likely the only person in the whole match thinking about gen spread.
Killler, yeah, there's more strategy. I played an 8k match with a Huntress and we 6genned them, and each of us patrolled half. They had no chance, even with most of the team still alive.

I already tried him and it was as big of a disaster as I expected. Maybe worse. Be glad you weren't duoing with me because I'm sure that random Blight was pissed.

No worries here.
I don't mind having my duo trying new things in 2v8.0 -
hillbilly is absolutely disgusting in 2v8 and needs nerfs immediately. This killer gobbles pallets and chainsaw sprints throughout the map 24/7 with undetectable sometimes too. I think any killer is good with him tbh, he carries so hard.
