Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Did the Quality of Life initiative accomplish anything gameplay-wise?

So far, many people will agree a lot of the changes that were brought by the Health initiative of the game has mostly been relegated to the menus or backend of the game, like mass spending of blood points and the removal of map offerings' ability to assuredly send you to a realm, instead making it a light chance. Maps and keys have been reworked in an attempt to spice them up a bit since they were so stale in their past iterations. The fog vial was created, then immediately nerfed to uselessness in what was one of the worst patches ever devised for the game, with the giant support beam in the offering screen being somehow the least offensive issue.

In the end, what are we left with? Many killers (Huntress, Deathslinger, Twins, Knight and Houndmaster just to name a few) have had lingering bugs that affect them and still aren't fixed somehow. The developers bring forth "initiatives" that no one ever asked for and show a complete lack of understanding of their own game (like extra palette density). In a second attempt to try addressing tunneling and slugging, the devs miss the point even more than the first time, discarding every good idea that was brought forth the first time (like giving certain killer classes higher/lower bonuses depending on how strong/weak they are). A lot of players feel like the future of the game is more drenched in doom and gloom than ever, mainly because we have lost faith in the development team. We know they don't play their own game or at the very least just play against bots. Almost every patch this year have come with major issues, like chases not even starting. Mindbreaker has been disabled for almost a full month without any ETA for its return, the same way some perks like Last Stand also were disabled for a long period of time before they would finally return.

So, did anything even good come out of the Health initiative when it comes to playing the actual game? I'm genuinely at a loss here and I'm getting closer and closer to no longer wanting to play this, since that there aren't actual good news to look forward to. The way I perceive it, most of the changes of 9.3.0 will not go through and the devs will give a third shot at fixing tunneling and slugging that will somehow be even more misguided than the last two. The game will remain super bugged out, nobody will enjoy playing it anymore and maybe we'll get an update for something no one asked for instead of tackling actual issues. Behavior is too arrogant and full of themselves to ever admit they are not doing the right thing; they only apologize after having doubled down on a bad decision, thus leading to a giant uprising of outrage, and only then they go "sorry", do the right thing and then the cycle repeats anew.

Sorry for the frustration, but I've about had it.

F no. It's always a publicity stunt with DBD. It's like that partner in an abusive relationship that swears up and down they'll change their ways, but obviously never will. BHVR is very lucky they've garnered the amount of people, revenue, and licenses they have thus far, because an actual AAA company would be getting slammed so much harder if they F'd up as much as BHVR does with the majority of things they take part in.

I don't agree with most of your post, but I do think Behaviour are their own worst enemy. A complete shakeup of staff might do the trick. From the Devs to the community managers.. fresh blood.

    i mean kinda

it's pretty rare to see people just offing themselves on the hook anymore. lol

also, you can exit matches faster with the abandon feature and that's kind of nice at times.

I was matched with a random 3 SWF team. One of them brought a luck offering and after one got found, downed and hooked by a Blight within 8s of the game, he commit on hook to go next and the rest soon followed.

Blight gave me the hatch afterwards and told me he felt sorry. The rest of the teammates told him things no normal, sane human would say to a stranger outside of their basements. Of course they were cowardly enough to leave before Blight or me had the chance to respond back to these clowns. What's more cowardly is their profiles on Steam were set to private.

I don't know what's going through the mind of some people these days. I hope they get the help they desperately need.

Normal entitled swf if things dont go as they want to then they will throw the game and be toxic, I bet they would be toxic even if they would all escape calling killer bad.
