beHaviour hates money
As you all know, beHaviour has released many well known games such as Deathgarden and others
As behaviour has continued to invest in new titles, it peeked my curiosity on why they didn't cancel some of these projects to invest in DBD, to rewrite it in C++ with a modular system that they can easily expand on without the risk of breaking unrelated features, so they have a healthy future for one of their best Cash Cows
But at that moment, something else has hit me…
beHaviour is sitting on an even bigger Cash Cow…
As you might've known, dbd has released many survivors over the years. With the base ones all being solid, later having some less popular ones and some more liked ones, but little did beHaviour know they had a secret genius dev cooking something big up. While benefitting from many genius designed characters from licensed chapters, little did they know they were about to cook one up themselves. A licensed character without a license… A character so good that she deserved her own horror movie…
And I think we all know who we're talking about here
I don't think even to this day, beHaviour realized how big of an IP they're sitting on with this survivor. Granted that it is possible to screw it up, if they put talent to it and being no stranger to licensing, they could have one of the greatest Netflix collabs of the century.
Sable, a personality so well designed that she could carry a movie, an entire series or an entire horror genre if beHaviour knows how to capitalize on it
Until beHaviour has realized her true value, she will just sit in our survivor's list, dusting off, living her life as one of DBD's most best selling characters, while beHaviour keeps sitting on this unutilized massive pile of gold waiting to be discovered
If only she could have been the star in The Casting of Frank Stone~

You didn't really go into detail why you think this about Sable. What is about her that makes her such a great character to you?

The sheer amount of personality she provides. All characters have written lore, but for the most part and to most players, it is irrelevant and will never be read. However, characters tell stories. Sable, without needing to read any of her lore, tells an entire story just from shining personality and depth alone. Something you can normally only get from licensed characters. Though of course, licensed characters to an extend cheat a bit. They do truly have all of that depth, either backed up by many movies or someway else
For licensed characters it is easy to be of this quality; if they hadn't been as successful and well designed, they'd never been in the game and we would've never heard about them. However somehow, DBD has managed to design a character of that quality themselves, yet may never realize her true potential
You could say it's a phenomenon of being lucky and scoring a "hit". So, for example does one of beHaviour's partners Super Massive Games have a wide range of games, like Until Dawn, House of Ashes, Men of Medan and Devil In Me, of which some are decent games, but nothing remarkable, yet having Gems among them like Until Dawn and Devil In Me. Although I think Until Dawn has pretty much utilized all of it's genius, it's shorter variant lucky hit Devil In Me has a concept and idea so great that it could've made itself to a world known iconic horror series
Similarly how Bloodborne's athmosphere and general idea and story from FromSoftware could've been a flagship Netflix series if talent had been put into it, outdoing the likes of The Witcher
When you hit gold we could only hope it's utilized. It requires luck, talent or both and one thing is for certain. Sable has the ability to compete with the big leagues as an iconic horror movie character should beHaviour find the right talent to make it happen-3
