whatever happened to the new servers from a few months back?

i swear i remember hearing that new DbD servers were active a few months back. one of the new servers was in Ohio, USA which is much closer to my state than the Virginia server. when it was active, i seen a pretty big decrease in my ping going from 65-70 on average to 40-50 on average. then all of a sudden it seems the server is shut off because now im consistently getting my 65-70 ping matches. i checked the dead by queue website and it says that multiple server locations are offline (Ohio, California, Montréal and the UK). Is there a specific reason these servers are offline? If anyone could shed some light on this that would be much appreciated.

    Man, I would love for the Montreal server to be turned on, it would immensely help Eastern and Atlantic Canadians struggling with high ping. (BHVR HQ is in Montreal, it makes no sense that the Montreal server is turned off)

    Since they added the new ones (London etc) they've been turning them off and on - I guess they spin them up only when the demand is there.

    California is currently online right now, if https://www.deadbyqueue.com is correct.
