I'm happy 2v8 got extended
If 2v8 were a permanent mode, I would never play 1v4 again. I enjoy everything about 2v8, from the challenge of evading two separate killers to the chaos of so many survivors running around and tons of stuff going on all at once. 1v4 just feels so tiny and mundane by comparison. To me, it's the closest mode that feels like a more casual experience. Because with all the chaos and fun of 2v8, I really don't care if I escape or not. So no, I'm not saying "hey, I love 2v8 because I love free wins." Because I would say that my escape rate is actually about the same in either 2v8 or 1v4. And I'm perfectly fine with that.
I still think a large portion of the fan base enjoy 2v8, but there is a highly vocal smaller part of the community (Twitter couch cough) who dislike it. And I personally wonder how much of that centers around the content creators, who dislike 2v8 because it messes with their viewership and increases wait times for 1v4. When I told my brother (who doesn't play) that last bit he immediately shot back with, "What, are they the gods of dbd? Who gives an f what they want?"
Not me, apparently, because I'd rather have 2v8 than BigDBD123 or whoever gets a higher viewership and shorter q times.

I'm glad you enjoy it, but I'm not a fan of how often it keeps coming back, at least in the current context. The only thing 2v8 iterations bring is more killers, and with Survivor being the majority of the gameplay (with the incredibly long killer queue times), having no new content on that front makes it feel SO stale.
It's got nothing to do with content creators, but I generally prefer the complexity 1v4 brings. The ability to make a build that works well together with your killer power, or a cool niche Survivor build is probably about 70% of the fun of DBD for me. 2v8 only really has 1-2 choices you can make in terms of what you choose to bring, and that makes it feel cookie-cutter.
You say 2v8 makes 1v4 feel tiny and mundane, but from my perspective, it feels like the other way around. There's far less variety and complexity and it just gets old so fast.
I wouldn't mind 2v8 coming back more often for those who enjoy it if it didn't affect 1v4 queue times so much by splitting the queue. It gets to a point where 2v8 coming back means I'm taking a break from DBD as a whole.

Only content creators and people on these forums hate 2v8, the rest of the community (which are casuals) love it and want it to be a permanent mode at some point

I really do like 2v8 but I quit playing it due to every game being Oni. It's not fun after awhile when you face the same killer over and over again.

I really didn't think they were going to do it this time, but am also glad to have a few more days to play 2v8 as it has become my favorite mode as well, though it desperately needs more survivor variety.

I'm glad you like it, but I hate it. No nuance or strategy. Every game goes 1 of 3 ways.

Well, the extension of this mode just means I will take a break from Dead by Daylight for the next week since I won't be able to get a decent 1v4 match during that time.

It's nice to see the mode continue for a few more days. It's not my favorite, but I like how easy it is to interact with everyone in the match, and how many players seem to share the same mentality. It's so different from 1v4, where we're focused on the objective and there's no time for anything else. That's the only reason I enjoy 2v8.

It's mostly the streamers that doesn't want 2v8, hate it, going out on twitter blasting the devs and the over 80% of the community that wanted the extension. Entitlement.
And all that because of the queues, they need games asap because it's their 'job'. If they don't care what the majority of the community wants, I don't care for them either. I'm super glad that got extended.

My desire to play 2V8 completely evaporated after BHVR removed my favourite Killer, so I guess I'll be extending my break from DBD for a little while longer.
It's fun for what it is, but it's also quite a bit more frustrating than 1V4 at times. I go up against more top tier Killers in a single week of 2V8 than I typically would in a whole month of playing regular DBD (except this time they have even less counter play than usual. The ones that stick to each other like glue to double team with their partner also suck the joy out of the mode).

Who are all the content creators that hate it? Everyone I watch seems to like the mode. Then again, I don’t use Twitter, so if the backlash is mostly happening there, that would explain why I missed it.
I can only assume the mode is extremely popular. BHVR keeps extending it every time, so the numbers must look good on their end. Personally, I didn’t enjoy 2v8 at launch, but it’s grown on me. I just can’t play it for much because it gets a bit overstimulating for me.

Yes, it's fun, but I also would like to play quickly a few killer matches instead of waiting 30 minutes in order to play one 😭
Playing one role over and over is getting boring for me
