I’m Genuinely Shocked at the Lack of Progress
I honestly don’t understand what has been happening with this game for the last three months. We were promised quality-of-life changes like anti-tunneling, anti-slugging, and anti-camping, issues they’ve acknowledged are problems. They even delayed content to “focus on player experience.” And after months of testing… literally none of it is making it into the live game. Not a single meaningful change.
From the outside, it feels like there is no direction, no roadmap, and no solid decision-making. Everything seems to shift depending on player backlash rather than clear design choices. At this point, it really does look like they don’t know what they want the survivor experience to be, because nothing ever actually gets delivered. And it shouldn’t take months of “development time” to adjust a status by a few seconds, yet somehow that’s where we are.
It’s honestly embarrassing to watch a full studio stall out like this, especially when so many fundamental issues (particularly for solo players) are still untouched. I’ve made more progress in my personal life in three months than this game has despite having an entire team behind it.
When you promise improvements, delay content, run tests for months, and then deliver absolutely nothing, players notice. We deserve better than repeated promises with no results.

I rather see them scrapping changes that would not make the game better than add them in the game and then later have to remove or dial them down because they don't do what they wanted.
Still we have no clue what is coming as we have not seen patch notes of the next patch even if they scrapped most notable stuff there could be lot of other changes like bug fixes etc.

Basically this whole QOL Initiative was a PR stunt and nothing more.
"The change is a lie."

Tbf they did think about solutions for issues many people cry about (not including me tbh).
Two PTBs of them got BOMBED BY THE COMMUNITY (I as well disliked the first anti-tunnel/anti-slug ideas as they were over the top; I did not test the second one). No one seemed to be happy with the ideas and they acknowledged that.
That's why they don't implement anything of these ideas.
So overall: They tried new things, the community said no, they listened and that's why nothing happened the last three months. It is a stalemate right now. Community cries for solutions (for - in my view - overexaggerated issues), community gets solution ideas, community cries about the solution ideas. It is only crying by now. It is exhausting at this point.
But what do you want now? Like seriously. It is not like they did nothing.
From my point of view we have two options:
- They keep bringing new ideas and there will always be backlash because the DbD community seems to be like this (crying because feelings get hurt) → this probably will change NOTHING, as seen over the last few months. Apart from the sea of tears growing.
- Scrap some issues and ideas for those completely (at least for now) and just move on with the bigger issues like bugs, new tutorial, balancing → this might actually help everyone rediscovering their enjoyment with the game.

That's what we all get when is there no competition and we all have part of the blame.
Nothing will change, all the mistakes/bad choices bhvr is doing they have no impact on them and they know it.
Where a dedicated dbd player would go? Nowhere.

Im just surprised they dropped all the changes completely instead making slight numerical changes lol. Like… idk. So many empty promises with the proposed “qol” changes.

That is just BHVR for you.
Better nuke than adjust XD
