They really just do not care at all.

It's been 5 months since the "health chapter" was announced we got many delays in development and all of that for literally nothing. They're just taking a 3 months vacation, that's why they pushed back the nect chapter. Not only basically EVERYTHING on the PTB is getting reverted, but we didn't even get significant bug fixes. Huntress's hatchets have been disappearing mid air for 9 months and Deathslinger's aim animation HAS BEEN MISSING SINCE JANUARY 2025.

Cheaters are rampant, and people caught up with the fact that you can use a VPN on killer on purpose to mess up vaults and other timings.

For a player's prespective, that will see this PTB that was supposed to replace an entire chapter go live, this was effectively a 3 months vacation for the devs and nothing more.

    Their M.O. is basically:

"We'll say that we'll do a MAJOR QoL year (been here before). We do basically NOTHING besides some tweaks that, don't get me wrong, are good but changes almost nothing in the core gameplay. We do not hear the complaints of both sides equally and do not make changes based on that. We panic at the end of the year and try to appease a loud majority. That backfires EXTREMELY BAD. We revert almost EVERYTHING after that really bad PR stunt. We're back at the start (again).

While that, we DO NOT hear our CONSULTANTS, we DO NOT hear our biggest streamers. We do not hear ANYONE that loves the game and WANTS it to stay alive."

I get that being a dev in a game the size of DBD isn't a walk in the park, but for god's sake, listen to the people that WANT the game to succeed, stop taking those PR nightmare decisions (WHY IN THE EARTH DID YOU MAKE A SURVEY THAT CLEARLY HEARD JUST ONE SIDE OF THE PLAYERS? WHAT DID YOU THOUGHT IT WOULD ACCOMPLISH?). Stop making everything basekit as a reward for either a bad gameplay loop or just bad decision (player's fault) and try to fix the cause, not the problem. It's CLEAR AS A DAY that, if you make some perks basekit, players will abuse it AND will bring more strong perks into the match, since they now have 1-2-3 slots available.

Imagine, for a second, if you make, let's say, Pain Res basekit. What do you think would happen? Killers will just bring a chase or aura perk? Or they'll slap ANOTHER gen regress? 'Cause the problem isn't regression, it's gen speed.

Got it? If you just treat the problem, not the cause, players will STILL have to adapt and bring strong stuff.

The same goes for the 1000 basekit perks that survivors got lately (and would get even more).

    You're just band-aid fixing things.

If you want tunneling to not be the BEST option for killers to win a match, make it so that killers don't need to get someone out ot the match asap to have a chance of winning.

If you want to stop slugging, make it so that killers are punished for doing it just for the sake of slugging. But giving BT for the rest of the match isn't the way to go.

And while we're on the topic, why slugging and tunneling (killers strategies for winning a match) are being so frowned upon, but gen rushing, builds that prevent you from hooking, builds that make killer waste a lot of time before getting a down, and then, most of the time, someone has a build to pallet/flashlight save. Builds that make killer's life miserable are not in the table?

See what I mean when you guys bring it to yourselves by NOT LISTENING both sides?

Yeah sorry for the long reply, but I guess someone has to say it.

They were ambitious thinking they will manage to fix major issues players have. But they didn't bother to use their consultants as usual…

Lot of those should not leave drawing table, but I guess devs think they know better and this is the result.

Glad to see more people getting it over time. DBD PR is usually all talk and no action.

Yeah thats what i thought too, instead they fix virtually nothing, especially when the killer side is plagued with tons of issues related to their powers and seriously needs major fixes, and we get 'operation: survivor buffs' instead. Almost as if that was the actual goal..

I give up quit delaying stuff it won't solve anything even when they have 2 months to work on things at least we'd have gotten new content to enjoy in this mess

Yeah, it’s pretty clear that the consultant program, if it even exists anymore, is entirely ineffective. So much time and recourse waste could have been avoided by simply asking experienced players “hey, is this a good idea?” for all the terrible ideas that went live and had to be scrapped.

My issue is that it's the same old song and dance. But this time it's far worse.

They run all these surveys and have their CMs fish for feedback and then they parrot it so that we feel heard. This "year of health" brought up a lot of issues players discuss often, whether anyone agrees with every individual point or not. The initial proposals were strong too, which was mostly a good sign.

However, like clockwork, every feature is canned for one reason or another and all we're left with are flaccid numbers tweaks we could expect from any half-baked chapter release. What made this year different was the promise. These were things that matter a lot to players and they were treated with the utmost disrespect and arms thrown in the air "well what can we do?" mentality we've come to expect from BHVR over the last decade. That attitude is incredibly damaging not only to the game but to their relationship with their audience. It is highly immature, insensitive, and honestly cruel. Players should feel jaded because that's the natural reaction to this degree of dishonesty.

    All my opinion, of course.

Can I ask, sincerely, what are you referring to with the idea that BHVR constantly can features shown on PTBs?

The only two examples of that happening I can remember off the top of my head are the Twins rework and the current PTB situation that sparked the conversation. I'm asking you because you're the latest person I've seen say it, but I've seen others also make out like this is not only a pattern, but a constant pattern that happens all the time.

So… what other examples are you thinking of?

I don't have a list in front of me, but I'm not just talking about things that are outright scrapped, but things that are gutted before they go live as well. Sometimes it's perk buffs that end up being perk nerfs, or reworks that end up being shelved indefinitely, or promises that end up changing suddenly or never manifest at all. Things of that nature. It always seems like they end up doing the opposite of what is wanted and/or beneficial to the game.

If I'm being perfectly honest too, even if it were all laid out for me and I saw that it wasn't technically as bad as I thought, it wouldn't replace this feeling of fatigue whenever it does happen. To think that problems that have persisted this long, that are affecting players this greatly, are being shot down so easily is very difficult to look past. And it's all cumulative.

I apologize if that's not the answer you were looking for. 😭
