Dead by Daylight DOES deserve the labor of love award

And let me tell you why. Dead by Daylight, regardless of their plans to this that or another, has really lied to us and taken our money. They're not an MMO pump and dump scam. They DO consistently try to find ways to make people happy with the game, even though the community erupts into chaos whenever the least little change gets brought up. There are games that will do you way worse than dbd. And I still believe part of the issue with dbd is a community that gnashes it's teeth whenever the devs do just about anything at all.

Dbd has outlasted its competitors partly because it DOES keep creating new content, killers, survivors, cosmetics. They do respond to player feedback. They DO listen, even though they may not work as fast as some people want. But mostly, and I mean this exactly as it sounds, the devs continue to work on this while being faced with the hands down most divisive, frequently negative fandom I've ever seen in all my years of being in fandoms.

Not only do they deserve the labor of love award for that, they deserve a Nobel peace prize, an Emmy, a golden globe and probably literally all the medals. Just give em all the medals. I think if the Star Wars creators were given all the dbd feedback posts and tweets, they'd probably all quit and go home like the Sims 4 dude.

Labor of love means also taking care of the game both content and health. With what I've seen/heard they've done the content...not the health as much with PTBs that clearly never went through as they showed their ideas were not super thought out but also caused a few other problems. They wanted to prevent anti-tunneling cool...by making a PTB that never went through. Now many games have made test builds or ideas that never saw the light of day but usually it's when they adjust it to a new idea or simply scrap it because it might cause more problems. DBD shouldn't get labor of love because BHVR hasn't been focusing on the health aspect all that much there things that need major adjustments or simple changes...they never did that. So my vote won't be going to dbd because I'm sorry I see the labor but not the love of making the game better.

No I don't think it does until they start polishing the game more. They make a lot of bad decisions and lots of perks on both sides which are NEW are released in a useless state. Loads of Legendaries and iconic characters are still bugged or awfully representing them, like they just have been shoveling content out with no polish it just feels like they abandon each one as they are done with it.

Just because the game survived, which is admittedly a feat on its own, that still doesn’t mean it deserves it.

Nor will it receive one, because it relies on player votes, and ain’t no way DbD is winning a popularity contest rn.

Old BHVR had the problem of not listening to the community enough.

Now they listen, but it seems like they give in to every demand.

Let's be real; DBD never really had any serious competitors to begin with. It's also BHVR's only cash cow, what else are they going to make content for…
