What’s the point in the PTB if they’re not gonna use it?
I thought the whole point of the PTB was to test out changes and decide if those changes will be rolled over to the live servers?
First the devs massively nerfed M1 killers with ‘pallet density update’, a patch disguised as “quality of life” but was really a nerf to already weak killers
And now they’ve massively nerfed survivor with the new changes, making a lot of loops incredibly short and unsafe
My question is why? Why not just revert the initial change? And why wasn’t any of it tested in the PTB first? We could have avoided this entire headache if the PTB was actually utilised and the devs could have seen that neither pallet density change worked

that’s asking too much from this company

true, and fair enough a lot of things tested in the PTB don’t end up making it to live, but given how pallets play a HUGE part of the game and their location and amount determine the outcome of chases, you’d think something like this would actually be tested first
The fact that it wasn’t and was instead just labelled a “quality of life” update shows the devs don’t actually play or understand their own game

I've said it a few times, but I still believe the PTB client needs to be it's own separate thing under the Tools tab on steam for this reason. Give people 2 weeks to test things, maybe longer when it comes to changes like this.
I seriously think the PTB is underutilized by BHVR aside it being used to hype up new DLC, with the recent changes PTB being fine for testing the antitunnel/antislug until they made these drastic changes that weren't in it.

The PTB for it to be more impactful needs to be able to have console players have access to it.
More people to test changes.

It Was full of easily adjustable changes, but no, we're gonna cut half the content and now we're still behind on QOL and Health Initiative for when ST2 drops

I thought the whole point of the PTB was to test out changes and decide if those changes will be rolled over to the live servers?Conceptually, yes and no.
It should be to fine tune changes, not make radical adjustments. A few days of testing, on top of testing multiple things at the same point, is not nearly enough data. Radical changes should be extremely rare, an indication that the company badly messed up in anticipating what would make a good game, instead of being the expectation that we all have now.

At least they did get a lot of bugs fixed in this update. However, there are still so many bugs they have to fix, especially issues for killers with their powers.
I fear they will also be behind when the new chapter hits. Houndmasters intro clipping is STILL bugged after a 3rd fix…-1 -
A quality of life change, at this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country localized entirely within BHVR's PTB?

Seymour! The game is on fire!
No mother it’s just the midchapter update

they need to rename the PTB to PTW (Public Time Waster)

😂 It's funny 'cause it's true

I don’t understand the point of the PTB either. Countless times we’ve seen broken things that lots of people in the community were complaining about go live into the game anyway.

My guess it wasn't tested during the PTB, because it wasn't ready. Though adressing pallet densitity was an urgent change, though it was pushed live as quick as possible. I wouldn't be surprised if we see some adjustments within the next hotfix patches.
