The Point of Bully Squads

So I was thinking. What enjoyment do people get from bullying the killers?

I'm talking full on perks and playstyle just for the purpose of bullying.

Most of the time they lose the game anyway, because they're chasing around the killer instead of doing gens.

Also how is it fun to spend your game running after the killer and just crouching or flashlighting or saboing hooks? Not to mention waiting in lockers while your discord friend leads the killer into the loop.

It used to annoy me, now I'm genuinely curious, why?

The little rude gestures I can understand, people get caught up in the moment, but intentionally doing this?

It's like people forget both side of the match has human beings in it…

Can anyone shed any light, or am I overthinking it? lol

    The alternative is doing gens.

Eventually, you make your own fun in the game. Dbd is recycled content with every match. Variables being the player's perks, etc. But in essence, its repetitive.

So you change things up, and make your own fun. My fun is finding the killer and just being a nuisance lately. The generator sim really needs a change, but with the insurmountable problems needing attention, I'll just stick to chases.

Nothing new on internet really. In almost every game you have people who just want to ruin fun for others.
Then just players on power trip in general.

Comes down to group mentality and beeing better at something than the other.

If you are good at math and got some smart friends you laugh about the weirdo who gets no answer right.

If you are atheltic you laugh about the fat guy.

It is in our human nature.

Strong and better goes after small and weaker and thinks he is much bigger now.

Survivors do this even between each other.

How often I got snichted out because I did Gens before friends and such things.

Rescuing someone from the killer’s grasp is not bullying. Many people get bored of typical DBD gameplay and decide to mess around with sabo and other forms of saves because there is more interactivity with the killer.

As for people who *actually* bully killers (endgame chat and constant BM), it’s a power trip thing. The same reason people slugged everyone on the ground for 4 minutes and WSWS’d before the abandon option.

Yeah because it was a neccesary to give the Killer DS into flashband into head on into Flashbang by two people. /s

I know what you mean, getting a flashlight save isn´t Bullying and not worth crying.

why does no one ever talk about how killers just bully solo queue survivors?

Lack of mechanics from survivor perspective hurting a lot and they start avoid actual objective.

People don't want to improve in looping because ping, pallets, ect, switch time to time, it’s more about how you manage sources and it’s really hard to progress in this.

While constant M1 on gens is deadly boring.

So… ask friends, peak a usable with comms perk, and just mess around. Perks makes it funny to do whatever you want. Gonna live forever for actual anti slug? Nuh, barely see this in solo, but bully squads enjoying this.

I was in sfw for short period, and got really… unusual answer from person who promoted such playstyle in team. She was really aggressive towards killer role and said players deserves such treatment because it's simply satisfying “put power role on their actual place”. Ngl some people do it because have high ego. But majority I think just don’t treat game seriously, because there are no actual reason to escape in trial

sometimes the goal isn't to win, but to never lose.

I do not miss the unkillable Ormond shack window vacuum sabotage corner of doom. the first time I ever ran into that I so happened to be incredibly baked and decided to role play as "angry old man with cane" aka Blight with mad grit. that match proved to me that "meta" is pointless because sweaty meta loadouts like pain rez are worthless in these situations. sometimes you gotta cook to be prepared

I play killer about half the time and I have no problem with survivors trying to “bully” the killer. It just means that they’re not doing gens and it’s super satisfying when their bullying doesn’t work and they ragequit.

I am basically running light bully squad tactics lately (not full on bully squads) but I find it helps me get into chase so I can practice looping outside a 1v1 with my friend who knows exactly how to predict my every move.

Also it can lead to pretty funny interactions. Bully squads aren't actually out to make your day worse, just to mess around. Some absolutely melt when they loose, but a lot just wanna play in a funny way with friends. Been too long since I had a good bully squad.

Because the community is killer sided, and you can't speak ill of them, lest you get labeled as a whiney, toxic, entitled survivor main who doesn't understand just how hard it is to be a killer main.

I don't understand why I hear so much about bully squads in this forum. My understanding is that it's a group that keeps their MMR low on purpose in order to terrorize new and inexperienced players. I'm not a fan of assuming MMR but I'd guess most people here have some time in the game and aren't bottom MMR. I myself haven't come across anything like this since I was new and I'm a mediocre player.

However, I do come across hyper-aggressive teams. Had one yesterday. Three flashlight users. A blend of flashbangs, blast mine, background player, and head on. The fourth was a gen jockey. It was a hard won 4k but I didn't feel bullied. Is it really a bully squad, or are people calling any aggressive, coordinated teams bullies just because they're not running in terror at the sight of the killer?

Man i love coming up against bully squads. They are so easy to counter when you realise what their deal is. Going for hook sabos? Slug the orginal down and whack the saboteur. Flashy clicky spam blinders? Do pickups facing a wall, look somewhere else and that's if you aren't taking the lazy route and simply running lightborn.

Tbh I like running anti bully perk builds sometimes, especially ones like awakened awareness, anticipation etc stuff that makes you dangerous while carrying a surv. Catches them off guard.

I think there is a distinct difference between a coordinated team of survivors out to help one another and an authentic bully squad. Flashlight saves are natural and logical. Now if they teabag after every loop and have no one working gens that's more in line with a bully squad. Also teabagging at exit gates and if the killer doesn't come for them they will go to find them and flashlight them even if it literally gets them killed in the process. I just laugh when that happens.
