With so many survivors leaving the game, what would bring you back?
iv played for 8 years on and off with my friends. We now don’t play anymore, due to the games state. What would bring you back?

I think more killers are leaving the game than survivors. It's become so extremely unfun to play as killer.
-28 -
safe to say its unenjoyable for both sided
19 -
why is killer queue so long then?
22 -
Honestly at this point I think the only thing that could bring me back is a different company acquiring the game, or at least major overhaul and replacement of most of the balance and mechanics design team or several consistent years of putting out updates that the community seems high-quality and unobjectionable.
A lot of talented people involved in the art and the social media side of things, but if I spent three months coming up with a plan to address one of the key complaints about a product, delayed shipping new features for that product in order to work on that plan, and then seemingly completely scrapped that plan, I would likely be expected to hand in my resignation. My boss gets on my case when new proposed features are not available within a week. That's not to mention the ping-ponging between map balance that was apparently insanely survivor sided a patch ago, and then apparently insanely killer sided now, for absolutely no reason and in spite of feedback on what kind of changes would actually have been fair.
It's at the point where it's not even about the specific problems that still exist, anymore, the actual complaint is that my trust in BHVR has been significantly damaged. Even if today they actually implemented a fix to the problems they said they would, the fact that they delayed a bunch of content for nothing makes me worry that they will delay a bunch of content for nothing again. I love the core concept of the game, but I can no longer in good conscious support a developer that is this prone to making mistakes that hurt the experience of playing.

Maybe revert all of the gameplay mechanics and systems they've done over the past year (minus the actual content updates, i.e. characters, cosmetics, etc.).
3 -
The game is stale, and I'm not constantly wasting 10-20+ mins to find a match that lasts even less time than that. Same killers over and over, same with perks, survivors with entitlement, no new ways to play the game. Yeah no, I'm playing something else.
15 -
Revert the damn pallet changes first, thankfully it will come next week
5 -
You could stop removing things that are fun to use for starters. (Syringes, Styptics, etc.) It's ridiculous that killers get to keep things like Blight/Nurse but a few one time use items are apparently too strong. I have no doubt that toolboxes will be useless soon as well. All changes like these do is make the game more boring.
13 -
Blight's old Alchemist's Ring + insta-down, Nurse's range + recharge add-ons were fun too. I don’t get the fun in pressing two buttons, but oh well.
-4 -
If we are talking about anything, regardless of how busted it was, I would probably remove the last couple of nerfs to DH. No DH for distance, but I'd get rid of the hook requirement. It was a very strong perk (still is), but it feels like the last nerfs it received ushered in the current gen meta. Where survivors try to avoid engaging with the killer and just focus on gens instead.
The game feels more interesting when survivors are prepared to take risks, and nowadays it feels like survivors are focused on playing it safe. and just hammering gens. The game is more balanced now, but it feels less interactive than it did.

I play both sides, but I've definitely stopped playing as much as before. The only thing that would make me come back is a Terrifier chapter adding Art the clown.

I am in Germany and almost exclusively play in the evenings. My killer queue is usually a few seconds while my Survivor queue is multiple minutes.
-2 -
- Company change - BHVR does an awful job & I don't have faith in them anymore. As simple as I can make it.
- Stop extreme nerfing one side or another.
- Stop listening to content creators so much.
- Play. Your. Own. Game. I genuinely believe they do not, minus a few exceptions on the team.
- Monetization is all they seem to care about - release a new popular license, get money. Release a new broken killer, get money. Throw out cosmetics, get money.
- PTB is pointless.
- Almost no innovation in 9+ years. People still asking for baseline kindred in solo que. Maps gutted, same bloated bloodweb system, insane & overwhelming grind for new players, etc.
- Actions over words. Always.
20 -
It feels like they're running different games for each region. Playing Killer on the Canadian server means waiting five minutes before a match starts, only for half the Survivors to get annoyed by something and disconnect. Playing Killer on the Asian server means finding a lobby in five seconds, but you're constantly matched with aggressive Survivors who use DH, OtR, and DS offensively every single game.

The survivor experience isn't great and it's been relatively the same since the beginning. The tunneling, slugging and camping is obviously a big factor but also just the gameplay. I think everyone agrees that the chases are the most interesting part of the game, but a lot of the match is just survivors on a gen holding down one button or on a hook waiting… not very engaging in the long run and especially when those things are prolonged because of things like tunneling, slugging and camping or with perks destroying generator progress (Which is of course are often necessary perks but obviously that means survivors need to spend even longer just doing a gen.
But idk what could realistically rectify this, it's just inherent with how the gameplay has been set up. I enjoyed the aspect of texas chainsaw massacre that you could attempt to escape using different types of exits, but that probably only works in a 3v4 and not a 1v4 as that seems like a lot for one person to manage. Survivors just need something, anything, that is engaging. Perhaps the game should be more centered around survivor and killer interaction rather than do gen and get out.
Also perks contribute a lot to enjoyment of the game. They're meant to allow you to have more fun options in gameplay but survivors are stuck with perks that help with tunneling, or slugging, or camping if they realistically want to escape their matches as much as possible/not have a miserable time. Same with killer having to run gen perks to keep up with survivors doing gens too fast. We're all just running perks so that we can win rather than whats fun or interesting or that we enjoy because of how the game has been set up. These perks are just bandaids for the problems in the game that haven't been fixed.

SHANOA!!!!! as a legendary skin for Trevor
-2 -
Why? All anti-cheese efforts have been cancelled and pallets and medkits have been nerfed. What more is needed? Four minute gens?
13 -
So many survivors leaving the game?
And this is just off of Steam alone. So I don't really buy the whole "survivors are leaving in droves" when statistics show quite the opposite.
BHVR does need to step it up though because their negligence to bugs and game health will slowly drive people away.
7 -
My most honest answer, if BHVR were to dangle in front of me any shiny new content that's on my wishlist, then I will come back to playing Survivor once again. If we get Robin with the upcoming Stranger Things 2 chapter, I won't really care too much about the state of my Solo Q games (at least for a while until the usual frustrations begin to bite again).
If they were to revert the Fog Vial nerfs and/or give us a slither of a crumb of an atom of the anti-tunnel and anti-slugging systems they developed, that would probably get me to return to playing Survivor as well.
But since we've all been lead to believe that Killers would quit the game en masse if some kind of functional anti-tunnel/anti-slugging system was added to prevent trials from becoming a boring mopping up operation after an early tunnel out, that ain't gonna happen any time soon. So yeah, I'm not likely to be a Survivor main for the foreseeable.

Its the Map showchase. Most of the players go there to explore the new map. Im sure its going to go back to normal after the Show cases are done.

Blight/Ghoul/Nurse being brought down to Wesker's level, but I don't play as often coz I'm just tired of them lol
I can't comment on Krasue as I've not seen her for a while
Lich's buffs reverted
I'm just tired of queueing up against the same boring killers.7 -
The game is in the top percentile of active players for all games across Steam/Xbox/PSN.
People don't like hearing this, though.
5 -
we need dbd 2
-6 -
So do we actually have proof survivors are leaving on mass? Because at least queue times don't reflect this saying going around where "survivors are leaving"
0 -
Where are you seeing any evidence of “so many survivors leaving the game”, others than a few complaints on a forum? Every night I’ve played recently, I’ve had around 5 minute queues for survivors, while my killer queues have been instant. Sure doesn’t seem like survivor players are leaving from what I can see with queue times.
2 -
just ask Ai, it said more survivors are leaving to me. Plus I was going off my experience and of people I know too who don’t play anymore.. my friends list used to be booming now no one is ever online.
-14 -
When are you seeing long killer times and what region are you in? I’m in US and every night I’ve played recently, my killer queue times have been instant while my survivor queues have been around 5 minutes. I don’t get to play during the daytime very often, but I’m sure killer queues are longer during the day. That’s nothing new though - it’s been that way for years because there are fewer survivors playing with friends during the day.
I would love to see anyone upvoting this show evidence of abnormally long killer queue times outside of the daytime when historical killer queues have always been long. There’s just no evidence of the preferred narrative of some survivor-only players that people are leaving the game in droves because they don’t like playing survivor.-2 -
I'm on a extended break but i would come back to the game quicker if they just fixed all the bugs for both killer and survivor role's. But being realistic its unlikely that even 25% of the problems will be fixed by next March.
1 -
my killer queues are less than 1 minute lol been for awhile
8 -
Most people I know have dropped killer more than survivor.
1 -
Lowkey they straight up just need to chill out on new content and actually fix the ENDLESS bugs and focus on their older content, we should never have bugs that exist for more than 2-3 major patches and we have some that have been around for literal years
I want this game to feel enjoyable again, and I don’t want booting the game up to feel like penance3 -
"just ask AI" yeah ima stop right there.
12 -
I would chage this:
17 -
I wasn't sure if it was true that Survivor Queue takes longer during North American server nighttime hours, so I tried playing via VPN at a different time than usual. Sure enough, it took 7 or 8 minutes. And that was solo. After waiting this long for the game to start, it's truly incomprehensible that someone always disconnects and leaves right away.

You're killing the doompost vibe.

This, honestly. I no longer trust BHVR in its current form as a company. And I no longer want to support them in any way. Unless there is a major shake-up in company leadership at the top for the better or this game is acquired by another company with a better track record of managing and properly balancing multiplayer games, I’m done, period.
I won’t be buying anything associated with BHVR in any way in the future (including anything they publish). They could announce my most unlikely licensed dream collab for Dead by Daylight tomorrow and I wouldn’t come back. Because it’s BHVR. They’d find a way to mess it up-and the rest of the game would still be the broken, unbalanced, miserable mess that it is.
I haven’t played since the immediate fog vial nerf fiasco. I uninstalled after that and never reinstalled. Nothing I’ve seen-including small Skull Merchant buffs-too little, too late-and seeing the other half of the game that I also played (solo q) somehow being in a worse state than I left it in doesn’t inspire any confidence in me. Not to mention the recycling of events I don’t care about-Lights Out was the only non-holiday modifier I liked-and diminishing Rift/Event FOMO rewards-treating BP & Iri shards like they’re actually rare and precious IRL currency with the current login calendar.
They had cute earnable cosmetics for their Halloween event, I’ll give them that-but why would I come back to grind for cute cosmetics in a game I have no intention of ever playing again at this point in time?
I know being this critical and blunt might get me temp banned/get my post deleted-but I frankly don’t care (and this is another problem I have with BHVR-they can’t take harsh but overall respectful criticism from their majority casual playerbase). They’d rather listen to the loud minority of killer main streamers/content creators who treat the game like it’s comp and act like if they can’t have their way in 9 out of 10 matches-the game will die (the game would be much healthier without the comp crowd if BHVR has no interest in creating a seperated ranked visible MMR season queue to funnel them all into, IMHO, but BHVR has very obviously chosen their side-over and over and over again). I’m tired. And disappointed. And I’m tired of being disappointed by a game that frankly could be great-but is in actuality awful.
So, if I can’t have a fun (no tunneling, slugging, humping on the ground from killers, no hatch leech, clueless, or uncaring/troll/griefing teammates) solo q match at least 1 time out of 10, I can’t and won’t play. And when I left, I couldn’t.
This will likely be my last post on these forums anyway-I’ve been having a far more enjoyable time with other games for awhile now, I don’t need this one anymore.

I always get confused of these mass exodus an game is dying posts.
Both sides are spreading them and its always these arguments which are contradicting each other.
Example:
All X mains leave the game because BHVR listens to the other side which is crying louder.
But… your side leaves so… you are on the side which is crying louder? Because the other side seems fine because they are playing.

9.2.0 could have been it for me, tbh.
Grand, ambitious changes that actually improve the survivor experience, especially for solo’s. It wasn’t perfect, no, but man…
9 -
That'd be dope, but I think Art relies way too much in gore, idk how BHVR would make justice to the character without backlash. But I'd buy him 100%.
-1 -
this. if bhvr grew some 2020 bhvr type of balls and actually went through with the changes, i think the game would’ve been so much better. yeah the changes weren’t perfect but it could’ve and would’ve allowed the devs to iterate and make adjustments (better bonuses for killer, number tweaks on tunneling punishments and unhook protections, anti slug tweak) as the game goes based on live game feedback. now that we’ve had 2 ptb’s in a row that cancelled the tunneling and slugging changes, i fear that bhvr will just throw in the towel and never try to address these issues again in the future.
9 -
My killer que isn't long. About 90% kill rate killer on most. 100% the game is not fun for either side right now but in my opinion caters much more to survivors. Id rather have the return of 2 shack windows as opposed to the incredible amount of 2nd chance and gen rushing perks given out now.
-3 -
Armsrace made this game way to fast paced like a game for speedrunners.
Efficenty at all cost.
Got hit by the second pallet this game? Better start a new round.
Got found in an unlucky spot? Better start a new round.
There is no room for much skill show off. Make one great play and it is most likely that the other side gets stomped.
1 -
neither survivors nor killers seem to be leaving the game so you can stop that fallacy unless you got proof
And the game is in a good state for both survivor and killer even though there’s so many complaints, usually about the tunneling/camping/slugging boogeyman
A few changes here and there on the most pressing issues and it’s really fine. That’s my opinion and I know many will disagree with it but for me this game has only been getting better and better overtime
-2 -
- The game isn't dying, but it's true that management this year has been disastrous. DBD will be in full health whether I leave or you leave. Player patience has a limit, and BHVR is exceeding it.

That one image of the "Don't buy Modern Warfare 2" steam group where everyone is playing it

Sorry you're not feeling too optimistic right now.
Here's a cute birb. Enjoy sir.

Nothing really, I doubt I'll play again. This was the final straw.
3 -
Eh. It is what it is. I'm still here, occasionally posting birds.
That's all I need, really.
-1 -
I've been playing since late 2017, and this year has seen my least amount of hrs put into DBD. I know for a fact if they were able to bring in the IT Chapter (Been waiting since 2017) that I would be running to log in.

You were hindered while the Clown was under haste and already well within lunge range. What did you think would happen?
