With so many survivors leaving the game, what would bring you back?

Bro I win every game as a killer, what do you mean?

I'd play if my friends came back.
They all left because when the average match isn't fun, and you find yourself chasing a "good" match that happens once every blue moon, you don't really enjoy the game anymore. Even my friend who got into DBD during the Anniversary event this year has quit.
DBD has a massive turnover rate. New players come in to replace old players (and buy more skins). Veterans are thrown under the bus, because they know BHVR's song and dance by now and are unlikely to spend the kind of money a new player would.

Winning =/= fun for some people. Just because you played against people who couldn't hold a single loop doesn't mean it's fun.
-4 -
MMR not being dogshit in soloqueue
13 -
this proves they are losing players period. It’s in the red more than green and any gain is lost in two months
1 -
do you know why people tunnel specifically ? its cause the gens are way too fast . if your not playing blight or nurse . you can basically guarantee 2 gens before 1 hook
-19 -
that is just simply not true. there are multiple ways to get a down early on in the match (lethal, blood favor, crowd control, good mindgames on filler pallets) before the first 1 or 2 generators get done. also, you’re not going against team eternal every time you load up as killer, there will always be majority of solo q players in your game that just simply aren’t that skilled. yeah there will sometimes be a really good player you find first but that’s one of the skill expressions on killer: knowing when to drop chase and go for a weaker link.

These are just from my last session:

>jesus CHRIST Stephen2 -
You realize that's basically normal game flow right? Survivors are supposed to be stronger and more efficient when the trial begins because there's plenty of gens near them many of which are far out reach and every pallet is available to them. In the later game after some gens have been completed and killers have gotten some hooks, the game becomes more favorable for the killer because now there's less gens to defend, less pallets to throw, and more hook stages on the survivors which means you'll be closer to getting a kill if you haven't gotten one already which can immediately change the entire outcome of the match.

Probably nothing, but I would seriously consider it if BHVR actually took a hard stance towards solving all the ways that players use to unnecessarily BM each other. I would be able to tolerate a lot of game bugs and instability if they ever once made it clear that being abusive towards fellow players was entirely unacceptable. Many of these stem from unhealthy design decisions, many from a complete lack of balance. And this goes on both sides. Neither side should be able to end the game in three minutes, regardless of the mistakes one may have made, but it's especially egregious when the game doesn't even actually start for all players simultaneously.
There are so many things that would need correcting, including a complete rework of the entire endgame because both sides are given virtually unlimited latitude to grief and taunt the other once the game is effectively over. The absolute lowest hanging fruit that I cannot believe that they haven't addressed for half a decade is everything around the hatch. Slugging for the 4k, and hiding because of it. Literally nobody likes this mechanic or the gameplay that it promotes. It makes the end of the game miserable for all players. And yet, zero efforts have been made to fix it at all. It's not even on their radar, which doesn't matter because the things they supposedly put the last 8 months into improving have only been made worse.
The only thing they've provided is a way to fast-track people back into the queues out of only the most egregious griefing, which has obliterated all meaningful stats, with only their completely untrustworthy word that they have their own secret data that says it doesn't. No, you can't see it. Trust us. We're not making it up this time.

idk why survivor mains are crying. there’s still plenty of strong loops and if you mess up there’s plenty of second chance perks the game offers you.
-16 -
are u trolling? it didnt meant this specific scene, it means overall the bs hits u get in this game which legit exist.
4 -
Then why undermine their argument by showing something that isnt relevent to it? Show a genuine "BS hit" if there's plenty of them and not a hit as they throw and waste a pallet for no reason because the killer was already in their hitbox hitting them lol
-8 -
Do we actually have real proofs that x side leaving game more likely? Beside personal experience and dbd q that actually talks only about time zones and regional differences
-2 -
if they actually bothered to pull the trigger on these changes that they said,
they were doing months ago.
its like key-dangling a new kaneki killer, the ptb is promising
the patch rolls out and its the complete opposite.
but instead we might have to wait until 2028 until bhvr pulls themselves out of their content rush.1 -
I'm in England and I experience the same thing
2 -
Yep. I'm one of those who have dropped killer. Only play survivor now
-7 -
So the bs stuns when survivor just runs through pallet but jumps into it like 1,5 meters from behind it and does drop animation, there are bs things on both sides one thing is hitboxes and ping plus bugs just like vault priority you can prerss it as fats as you want even if holding space would work then you cant still beat someone who has 20 less ms than you or even more thats just one of magic things that are bad or hitting invisiable wall with your chainsaw when you were just few inches from survivor or just breaking pallet with your power (blight, billy, bubba, mayers) when survivor is on it or right in start of vault of animation and his tibox should be still behind the pallet but the magic is strong here, or not getting vault with wesker from inside of shach window because you did it right after survivor vaulted and it pushes you to wall very funny indeed and there is more things like this but his short can be just the hinder+ haste thing and maybe little of ping because survivors hitbox behaves in some ways and animation of their body isnt where they are in reality (call it matrix or whatever but their body is just hitbox behind them so when they run you should aim on their but and not head this is something many huntress, slinger mains or any other range killer knows, thats why as trickster its better to spawn knifes more on legs which is compleaty different that in reality where legs are smal and bad as target but in DBD its legs and butts not heads and chests, when survivor is droping pallet his hitbox is in that pallet stuck so if she was hindered and clown was influenced with haste then this yould be possible same with survivor vaulting speed when they have haste they vault faster its just game thing that was there from the start and then add some ping difference like 20 ms vs 80-150 ms and you get even more mind breaking things like hatchets that have like 4 meters hitbox, I got even hit through droped pallets I droped like 1-2,5 seconds ago by wraith with 274 ms).

Same survivor ques are fats in day time and killers are longer and then in evenings survivor ques reaches like killer ones in daytime even longer (because everyone plays with their friend/s so thats one of main reasons) and killer que is few minutes to even seconds and I had like few days ago two nights 1,5 blood points bonus on killer and I could do catastrophic doom post about how killers nubers are decreasing.
-3 -
If they announced dbd 2
0 -
Yes because it's a horrible experience. I used to get 4ks no problem, and today all my games I'm lucky if I get one kill. Nothing but try hard games one after another. It just simply is not fun at all.
-12 -
the only thing that will bring me back is a post stating that the company is cleaning house with their management and dev team to hire new people that KNOW how to balance the game and care for the health of it instead of greedy practices.
Edit: no dlc no matter what it is will bring me back at this point. they failed me for nearly 10 years now. A killer always feeling neglected, always feeling robbed, always feeling unappreciated of dumping money into their game while getting no gratitude in return.

Nothing at this point at least to bring me back to survivor. I still play killer but i haven't really played survivor since before knight was released
7 -
only thing that would bring me back is if bhvr made all perks available for purchase with irishards in a shop and not locked behind new char purchases. having op must have perks releasing every few months where if you dont have em your 100% ######### is just not ok. this goes for killer and surv and the shrine of secrets is not good enough for obtaining perks when the % chance of finding perks you want is near impossible. this absolutely kills the chance for new players to join the community because if you dont have over 1k hours in dbd you dont stand a chance. you will never catch up unless you spend an obcene ammount of money to buy all the characters with the best perks im talking like 100+ $ USD to catch up and thats not counting the 100s of hours to grind each char to p3 or p1
1 -
Idk what region you are in. But since 2v8 ended it's gone back to normal and killer is always at 150% blood points for me.
-2 -
Completely agree. My games have become so sweaty. One tiny mistake can mean the game is over for me.

I tell you what, after all these years of fast killer/slow survivor queue times in the evening, and slow killer/fast survivor queue times during the day, it still surprises me to see people think that is evident of something other than the norm

some soloQ qof changes.
2 -
2vs8 as a standard option
3 -
Yep. Never changes except for events. Yet people come here daily to say the game is dying because the queue was five minutes.
4 -
People should also remember that the majority of the playerbase doesn't purely play one side. If a player is 75% survivor and 25% killer, they play survivor three times as much as killer, so would presumably be taken as an overwhelmingly survivor player. But for actual parity between the pools, their playtime split should be 80% survivor and 20% killer. So this ostensibly primarily survivor player quitting would cause the killer queue to become more starved, not the survivor queue.

The only thing that would bring me back to dbd is the games state of 2022, where the game was about having fun
3 -
I personally have longer queue times on survivors… by a lot
I play only evenings tho.

Bring back stealth.
Either make Distortion useful again, or nerf NTH, Lethal, BBQ, etc. etc. etc.

I haven't quit the game yet but while I love DBD I just feel like I'm forcing myself to play at this point. I've been playing Outlast Trials now and enjoy that game a lot more. I also don't really believe many are actually quitting DBD however a lot of players are unhappy with the state of the game and seem to play purely out of FOMO / addiction to some mechanics this game has.
I think a lot of my negative feelings about DBD are amplified quite a bit as I've played since 2016 so I have higher expectations. It's noticeable every time certain things with the game or company happen updates have a lower quality. There's a lot of things I could pin the current state of the game on but I really feel like in this very moment there are two things I'd account for.
- I really don't feel like the people working on the game play it too much because there's a lot of nonsensical changes
- I feel like when BHVR laid off a lot of employees it heavily affected this game - I feel like there's not enough skilled people working on this game. I'm not saying the current people are unskilled - but there isn't enough of them. Otherwise I can't explain why every other update breaks some things to where a killswitch is almost guaranteed on something each update. At least eventually things get fixed.
There are so many issues with this game though that I feel a sequel or rebuilding this game from the ground up is the only solution to a lot of foundational issues the game has. I also just don't really trust BHVR at the moment. I don't blame the individuals working on the game but why does almost every single update for the past few years just break something that isn't even being added or seemingly altered. It just feels like the game is a mess. Not a lot happens very quickly anymore and I just feel like this game can't handle any more new content.
I personally don't care about new content, licenses or skins but I know most do. As a player whose been here for almost 10 years now I think my main gripe is the lack of any foundational changes and seeing the same issues occur over and over. Many many changes that are long overdue to be revamped take literal years. It felt like an eternity before BHVR came up with a solution for hatch standoffs for example and I feel that was the biggest QoL change the game had in a while.
I hope the game gets better in the future - I don't really care either way as I'm just tired of watching the us versus them arguments this community has.

That ship has sadly sailed.
People for some reason hate if survivors survive by hiding and just complain that every time you hide = rat.
Which sucks for soloq, but kinda ironic that they only help soloq by nerfing ######### that no survivor really wanted anyway.
People still rat without distortion and killers have so many perks and powers to counter distortion, its gutting served no purpose whatsoever, especially considering they killed wake up for no reason.

I stopped playing survivor when over half of my matches ended up being against Blight. I only play for challenges with loot locked behind them. Other than that, I pretend the role doesn't exist and am a pure killer main. Kneecap Blight and I may come back.
4 -
I want to see less bugs. I'd like half baked aspects like the forest in the FNAF map and the entire Walking Dead map reworked. I'd like for more minor perk changes to be made more frequently for variety to keep the game and its years of content fresh.
After all of that, if possible, I'd like some killers with unpopular powers to get Addons adding a new ability in exchange for another so more players get the chance to fall in love with them. Nemesis with the Rocket Launcher, Axeless Springtrap, Crawling Unknown, Uncrouched Xenomorph.
Creating alternate play styles of these killers could easily make them twice as popular, like Myers mirror add-ons giving him aura reading instead of his ability or Lock of Hair letting him play with Slaughtering Strike.
1 -
sucks because stealth is the only surefire way to combat mobility, especially mobility with aura reading. Lights Out kept mobility killers in check by being able to actually use the geography to your advantage.
not that stealth is dead entirely, OoO still works but that's a veteran metagame option and not really viable for the entry level gamer just wanting to be able to breathe the first 10 seconds of a match without running the risk of spawning in a dead zone vs Lethal Pursuer
4 -
isn't there a bug with slinger where you shoot someone and it won't count?
0 -
It is its called hit validation I think and huntress has it to for years its issue.
0 -
Nah its more a bug…
The hit validation shouldn´t go nuts when your shot hits the middle of the Survivor.

Game live long past its prime, new players wont be able to enjoy it due to the amount of sweats currently playing the game, yea if ur a 5000h or more player then u will consider 1000h players are casuals, but the coming waves of new players will get stomped by the 1000h players, the game take far too long to master, to require legit high skill level it takes over 3000h, and to archive mastery of the game it takes over 7000h which include playing custom matched with comp players, 3k hours comp players will stomp majority of players with 10k hours, depend how u want to play the game the choice is urs, at this point there is only 1 solution for dbd to survive for a long time ahead, the solution is this, separate sweaty games from casual games, how u do it tho? simple, make rank mode and casual mode, in the casual mode make maps bigger, longer games, and more side quest games where u get rewarded and exploring etc, meanwhile in rank mode keep it the way it is now, balance things out a bit fix the servers, and give proper ranks and rewards, and fix the anticheat, u can do it, if u do it then ur game will last for another 5 years or more.

This.
I don't think its voiced enough, but I don't know why Vecna of all killers was getting buffed

decided to play a round after a few months.. camped to 2nd stage then eventually caught after tunneling me from hook…. So fun… got off immediately.
