Agreed, you have to scroll halfway down the page to see the actually circulating posts, it's a bit tedious.

You can dismiss pinned posts, so they’re listed like the other topics.
On mobile, you first tap this…
…and then select Dismiss. Not sure what Mute does.

afaik mute does exactly what youd think, any replies to a threat that mention you/quote you dont notify you. if youre the op, you dont get notified full stop
