DC penalty removal
I know it’s been talked about a lot but it needs to removed cause sometimes you have to DC when certain factors are out your control like really bad lag or like has happened to me a few times not many but still I have been logged out PSN randomly or straight disconnected from my WIFI randomly as well

Just no. Every time the DC penalty has been temporarily disabled in the past, the game has become literally unplayable for everyone. Every match had players DC-ing for the most minimal reasons.
If you’re having issues with your network, take care of that problem before playing PvP games. Individual network issues are no reason to ruin the game for thousands of other players.

No it should never be removed. This is always the worst suggesting right next to having ranked mode in this game.

DC penalty was disabled for years starting with the release of the game until they eventually implemented it for the first time. Does it mean the game was LITERALLY UNPLAYABLE FOR EVERYONE for several years? How did it even survive then?

It's also funny how people who defend DC penalties get angry when their teammates who want to go next throw the game and die instead of just DCing and giving the team a bot. If not for the DC penalty, you would get bots more often than just dead teammates, but causality here seems to be too hidden and complex for some.

Yep every time its been off after it was implemented. DC'd start happening in about half the matches and reason can be as petty as getting hooked the first and not to get to use Deliverance.

I didn’t play back then so I can’t speak from experience, but I’m sure nobody wants to go back to those days except for you and a handful of others who want to be able to DC for any reason

We don’t want to play with bots. We want to play with people who actually want to try. We want the people who like to DC or throw matches to not play the game at all.
The DC penalty accomplishes this in two ways: 1) if you DC, you get temp banned so you can’t ruin other people’s matches, and 2) it forces players to stay in matches, so if you’re someone who will just give up at the slightest inconvenience, you’re more likely to decide it’s not worth it wasting your time waiting out a match you don’t want to be in and you’ll turn the game off.
Both of those things deter players who don’t care if they ruin other people’s matches and make the experience far better for the majority of players who want to actually try even when the game doesn’t go perfectly their way.0 -
Except it isn’t always my internet and sometimes it’s either the servers for dead by daylight or PSN

Unfortunately, it's just not really doable, especially since Killer DCing instantly ends the game (which is, incidentally, why having the gates opened/powered can't allow the Killer to Abandon: basically no matches would ever get played to the very end as most Killers won't bother pushing Survivors out and would just abandon, making several achievements and quests borderline impossible).
Every time in the past when it was disabled, there would be at least one DC every match, often at the very beginning.
It's really annoying to get a DC penalty because of technical issues or hackers (because yes, cheaters can forcibly DC other people by crashing the server. Happened to me a few times when I managed to catch them even through their speedhacks) but unfortunately the amount of valid DC against petty DC would be minuscule.
