Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Needing some advice for going against certain killers

This is mainly those I'm seeing a lot of and I've still not seen about half of the cast so potentially there might be more. There is three I'm really struggling with and have not had a single escape with. Granted partly this is also just from the others doing literally nothing when I am being chased.

  1. Myers (Shape) is one I genuinely cannot understand how to deal with. I know he relies on stalking but even when I shouldn't be visible (Far away and crouching behind something), he still gets his one shot. It also sucks because I feel I should be out of range but instead I still get struck when he attacks.
  2. Deathslinger is the next one and I genuinely cannot figure out at times where they are landing the hits from. Even when I do manage to break free from the chain, it doesn't take long for him to recatch up and land another snipe. Perhaps this one is just more so needing experience against him but it feels rough, especially when what should be a wall is in between us.
  3. Springtrap (Animatronic) is… so frustrating to deal with and it isn't even the axe that's causing the problem. I find it so difficult to deal with him because he always seems to sneak up so effortlessly and when it does get to needing one more gen, none of them are safe as there is a door right next to them so he can easily show up and force us away or kill us.

Any tips for these three specifically? So far had 8 matches against Myers, 5 Deathslingers and 5 Springtraps with no escapes from any of them.

All of these killers have decent antiloop so it’s understandable why you are struggling especially with the poor matchmaking probably putting you against experienced mains .

    1. Myers antiloop is too strong. he often has the advantage in chase. Your best bet is good game sense and avoiding him altogether. Try playing more careful and stealthy and i recommend sprint burst in case he sneaks up on you. If you get into a chase with him, try to run to the closest strongest part of the map with sprint burst to waste his time. Fillers are very unsafe against him in tier 3.
    2. Deathslinger’s biggest counter is breaking line of sight constantly. For this i recommend exhaustion perks that give you distance such as overcome, lithe. The hitbox on his chain is tiny and it is designed to hit survivors through holes so this is probably how he is shooting you when you least expect it. The pallets are useful against him but only in medium to long sized loops. Do not predrop against a slinger unless it is a safe pallet because sometimes he can chain you and walk around the loop for a hit anyway.
    3. Springtrap has different audio cues for what he’s doing. He has a distinct warning audio when he enters a door. If you hear this be careful especially if you’re near a door. It may be smart to slowly walk away from the gen early and play it stealthy. Also recommend sprint burst against him.

For Springtrap, pay attention to the little number panels on the front of the doors (especially if the door happens to be facing toward the generator). If you see it start to flash, that means somebody is about to come out through the door (usually the killer). You can use this to get a head start getting away or potentially hide. The flashing starts as soon as he selects the door to teleport to, so you basically have 3 seconds from the moment you see that until he'll be fully through the door.

Myers, he still is a stealth killer.

So if you cant hide while hes stalking, you already lost the game.

If your teammates cant do that but you get targeted, the next best thing you can do is loop properly and hold w whenever you can, even when charging. Ideally to another tile incase he catches you.

    -

Slinger, hes a 4.4 killer, his only power is his gun which takes alot of time to get you, never get normal m1'd if you can, risk getting shot is more than m1 to a m2 combo. More time if you get shot.

If he lags, you honestly just play without bothering to chase. They will hit you no matter what from experince.

    -

Springtrap make sure you check your surrendings, listen closely if hes approaching you with his footsteps and watch the door if you can. If it blinks, run.

If you are in chase, try your best to dodge the axe as much as you can. Hes a powerless killer without the doors and axe, so once you deal with that, you got no problem struggling.

Remind yourself if he has the axe, he's slower than usual, if he doesnt he's 4.6.

With myers early on you need to keep an eye out for him. More so than most stealth killers because other stealth killers will try to get hits, even ghost faces usually try to get close or they'll telegraph their mark while miles away and give you chance to make distance. Meyers will just stand there watching.

once he hits tier 3 do your best to hide, prevent him getting those quick downs. In chase when he's powered up looping him is incredibly risky, best just to make as much distance as possible and predrop pallets to try and make it to the end of his tier 3 timer. His thing is he's weird because he spends much of the match not chasing but building his power with brief bursts of aggression when he hits tier 3. It's a very odd pattern.

Deathslinger is a killer I play a fair bit. First off you need to watch that terror radius, you really want distance on a slinger to make his shots harder, bear in mind a lot of slingers (me included) run stealth builds for easy shots so don't rely too hard on the tr, keep your head on a swivel. Be careful of vaults and pallets, if he has a loaded shot they are a golden opportunity for an easy hit, fake out and if he misses that gives enough time to drop the pallet or vault through before he can recover and m1. His shot is relatively easy to dodge with a bit of practice, he takes a moment from ADS to being able to fire, and that is the point you want to disrupt his LoS, a bad slinger will go for snap shots so if you see him ADS just jink, my favourite trick as slinger is to mindgame ppl with the ads to make them evade and lose distance to me, then M1 them or get an easy shot at close range. Use the environment, solid cover and objects are your friend, open areas are a nightmare, make sure he doesn't have a round in the tube before you try to transfer to a new tile. Looping him can be punishing if you get it wrong, but high walls are a god send and if you crouch at low walls he struggles to spear you. If he misses a shot he must reload and this slows him so take the opportunity to get that distance back. Another thing to remember about slinger is he suffers a similar issue to legion, if he can't reel you all the way in for a free hit, the spear can only injure and deep wound you, not down you, keep a solid pallet dropped loop between you and him and he can't get the hit. Conversely some slingers will simply aim to tag you in a chase and break the chain to get the free damage. Basically his biggest weakness is his single shot mag. The rythmn of his chases is bait the shot, if he misses make distance, if/when he does hit you

Springtrap I havent seen very much of but his mechanics seem very similar to alien and demo. Watch those doors, and keep a wary eye out while you are working gens, as you should with any stealth based killer. Listening helps, it can be hard to hear them moving over the sounds of working a gen particularly one with the pistons going, but you can still hear audio cues (I think he makes an audio cue when using a door, not sure, like i said not too familiar with him) and watch the player list if he's chasing someone then crank that gen, if he stops and you don't know where he is, take a moment, hide, check the area and the closest door or try and spot him across the map. Info against any mobility killer like springtrap is invaluable. If you swf make sure everyone calls out his locations so you know when it's safe to work gens.

I feel like the only one I can give advice on is deathslinger, because he is one of my favorite killers to go against. The trick is the same as going against huntress, which is understanding how to abuse POV in chase. (POINT OF VIEW) As soon as I know I'm being chased, I dart behind every single obstacle on the map to keep him from getting a reliable shot. I will also dart from sharply to one side when I know he's about to make a shot, which I'm fairly good at predicting based on time of animation reload and sound. Also, as soon as you throw a pallet, run off to one side, in case he tries to aim over it a second later. (This is also good advice when pyramidhead tries to get you with trail of torment after you throw a pallet.)
