Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

The normal 1vs4, 2vs8, another of the time-limited modes or even a special event mode?

Chaos Shuffle. I also enjoyed the anniversary event but that was back when they were generous with the event offerings

    Chaos Shuffle

It is nice to get away from the meta but they need to fix some game aspects since you can´t bring either gen regression nor second chance perks.

Probably Chaos Shuffle. Regular 1v4 is a close second though.

Chaos Shuffle. Will be even better without the possibility of Map Offerings or people bringing the busted stuff. This was the only thing I did not like about Chaos Shuffle and glad that they changed that.

Second would be the regular 1v4.

And I absolutely hate 2v8 with a passion, especially because it always kills queuetimes. And Lights Out is just super boring.

Chaos Shuffle would be the most entertaining once they make the items and addons random. 2v8 is a good middle ground, as you avoid the Ghoul entirely. 1v4 is probably the worst, as they never correct the truly busted addons and perk combinations on killers and survivors, and tile generation has been awful lately.

Did you enjoy it only bc of the event offering (i played them a lot to collect the offerings) or did you also enjoy the gameplay changes?

2v8 is my favorite - if it became permanent I don't know if that would remain true. I don't think it reaches the heights of 1v4 in terms of 'amazing' matches, but it has a lot fewer and less frequent lows, which at this point are more of an issue to me.

Chaos Shuffle. Makes me and everyone else play with perks people arent as familiar with and every match doesn't look the same. I'd love if they make it fully chaotic. Random survivor and random killer as well. Everything random. Oh and random item for survivors.

2v8 lost its shine after the first one. I loved the first one..now with the changes i havent enjoyed it as much.

Honestly 2v8. Fast survivor queue, fast trials, fast unhooks, very casual, just wonderful. The cons about it is the lack of perks and limited killer selection.

Now that i think about it all the game modes which don’t fundamentally change the game are fun to me and my preference changes. So anything but lights out or my little pony.

2v8 is my favorite. I enjoy the simple casual feel to it. I take long breaks from DBD so coming back for 2v8 where I only need to catch up on changes to a small killer roster and not hundreds of perks is nice. In the majority of my games tunneling, camping, and slugging happen much less than in 1v4 and overall losing in 2v8 doesn't feel as bad/frustrating as 1v4 - maybe because it takes more than 1 weak teammate on survivor to bring the team down. I will say I don't enjoy it as much now as I did the first and second iterations but out of all the modes it's the only one I come back for.

Chaos shuffle I wanted to like but only the perks being random didn't make it feel like anything special, especially when people could still bring whatever items/addons/offerings they wanted. I'd be willing to give it another shot if they removed being able to choose items/add ons/offerings. I'd like it to be real chaos by making everything random including the character selection but that's probably asking too much.

For me it is Chaos Shuffle, though it should have been updated to also include random add-ons and items.
A truly randomized mode would also be really cool, where everything is randomized, including the player characters, and even the role, so that one random player got selected as a random killer for example. Pretty sure that would have been a really fun and entertaining mode, where you got to play different characters. Truly something that took you out of your comfort zone for a change.

Legion-free 2v8 was also not so bad.

2v8 use to be but with the removal of legion and now adding in free flashlights and flashbangs with no counter, probably not gonna play it anymore.

Lights out is my second so we will go with that.

Surprised to see so many others on the forum also prefer Chaos Shuffle over 2V8. Definitely thought it might be the other way around.

I do like 2V8 as well, but I've realised the main attraction for me is the Killer side of the mode. The Survivor side became stale for me a few iterations ago and at times I've found 2V8 to be the worst Survivor experience out of every version of DBD.

But the Killer has to feel different when compared to 1V4 to appeal, otherwise I just take a break when it's live. 2V8 was the most fun you could possibly have playing as Legion. But Billy on the other hand is far too much like his 1V4 iteration to bother with and sadly didn't do it for me in the last iteration. I'm hopeful that 2V8 Chucky will be able to fill that Legion shaped hole but who knows…

Both. But a big part was of it was everyone coming together with their offerings and we all walk away with stacks of bp at the end of it. Just the icing on the cake. And then being able to still continue that once the event was over because we all had heaps of offerings to go around. It felt more like a community.

2v8 is my all-time favorite modifier. I think at some point the devs seriously should consider making it either permanent or semi-permanent (every weekend or limited to specific times of day)

My second favorite is Lights Out. It's not a perfect mode by any means but I've always wanted a more hide-and-seek focused mode in Dead by Daylight and this is the closest I can get. I wish the mode would scrap the concept of generators and hooks and make it more like a hide-and-seek mode where you simply wait out a timer for the exit gates to be powered and get killed if you're found.

    Chaos shuffle.

People say its been bought back too many times, but for me its the only mode bhvr didnt fumble because they havent changed it.

Every other mode is extremely unfun or killer sided.

Like last years halloween, zero reason to go into the void or use it. Lmao.

2v8 because its chaotic and less people care about results or are toxic beyond saving, than chaos shuffle that can be now more as random mode without map offerings that were guarantee map which killer the uniqueness of that mode and other thing people might find bad here is gen rushing or higher genefficiency and from killers side slugging and tunneling these strategies are way more used here because both sides are from their save enviroment of perks that help them a lot and must more rely on their skill and these strats thats just thing people must accept when they decide to play this mode.

Lights out was kinda more killer favored mode but it wasnt tragedy, my little oni or what was is called (4 super small survivors against one titan oni) was kinda fun and event modes are sometimes good and sometimes garbage like blood moon where one with those blood areas like boons gave buffs to killer or survivor depending on who set them and than we had blood moon with blood gens that was super survivor favored and kinda unfun from both sides due to short play time and no solid bp bonus or gain as blood moon event before, aniversary is fun.

Chaos shuffle because its the only real way to add some variety to the game.

I also quite enjoyed Lights Out 2.0, the atmosphere was great.

2v8 100% should be perma with few matches per day until all the killers are added, and it's better if they add 3 of them each interation even with bugs)

    2v8!!

I dont think 2v8 is higly killer sided, same as chaos shuffle which is now more random so no guarantee maps or two addons which is good change tbh.

Lights out was more killer sided with some events like halloween (void was waste of time and survivors crystals werent that good), bloodmoon with blood gens was super survivor sided, anniversary is probably for both like killer has beter effects but he is just one and survivors arent bad too compare to halloween even (blocking windows, making one use pallets, being quiet for short time, killer hooking from carrying to random hook, destroying pallets that are droped and getting endurending for short time).

Still 2v8 is best and chaos shuffle follows because it breaks everyones guarantee perks and makes games more spicy.
