Base Generator Regression Feels Too Weak
Lately, base generator regression has felt extremely underwhelming in matches. When a killer kicks a generator, the regression is so slow that survivors can often leave and return with little to no consequence.
This creates a situation where:
- Kicking gens is often a wasted action
- Regression perks feel mandatory instead of optional
- Killers are punished for interacting with objectives instead of chasing nonstop
If base regression were slightly stronger, it could:
- Make generator control more interactive
- Reward killers for successfully interrupting repairs
- Reduce the pressure to always run the same slowdown perks
This wouldn’t necessarily mean longer matches or excessive slowdown. A small base increase could shift regression perks into an amplifying role rather than being the sole source of meaningful gen control.
What do you think?

It makes gen rush or constant chasing meaningless. I think BHVR should make tunneling meaningless rewarding killers with something different which would benefit them keeping survivors safe, and killer's status quo. There would be a reason to play for both sides. If no then we have situation like "hope you'll get better nonetheless what you think you will get in the end". I don't want to play weaker or yield to survivors. They probably don't want that too, if so anti anti everything makes this game silly and unenjoyable at all. If survivors try to gen rush and escape most of the chases, I would want to kill at least one, SO I need to tunnel that one and then focus on 3 remaining survs.
And if would able to kill two of them, then game turns into something middle between run-and-laugh or hide-and-seek.
If I have a meme build ("Agitation" and "Iron Grasp") I could chase one surv with another on shoulder. I had such case it was funny. But it what occurs with casual survivors. WIth somewho's "smart" it turns into hide-and-seek or whatever to make this game as much unenjoyable as possible. There is no thought about how to make this game enjoyable with less than 4-3 survivors.
I forgot to mention 2vs8 mode - it's still sucks no way I would play it seriously. But it definitely better than 2vs4 just because of roles and no perks which you should to grind for over 1k hour or more.

Killer's slowdown without regression perks comes primarily from injuring, downing and hooking survivors thus forcing the survivors to perform actions other than repair generators. Killer's ability to regress generators is not meant to be powerful without perks, it is simply a mechanic to allow killers to punish survivors abandoning generators that have progress, if survivors return to a generator after you've kicked it that's not abandoning it and the inital regression granted for kicking the generator is simply so that the time spent kicking the generator gives you an immediate effect to make it so you haven't completely wasted your time even if the survivors get back on it. Quite frankly except on very weak killers only 1 or 2 slowdown perks is enough against most survivor teams, and on very strong killers you don't need any slowdown at all against 90% of survivors teams.

They should make the regression accelerate the longer the gen regresses, so that it would be worthwhile to protect a gen.

There's so much variance between the viability of the current killer cast that a broad general change like base regression affecting every killer is a mistake imo
Doctor, Ghostface, Bubba, Pig, and a bunch of low tiers might benefit well from a base regression changes without breaking the game.
The obligatory mention of Blight, Ghoul, Nurse? Could be far nastier. Even strong but balanced killers like Spirit or Dracula could become a bit much depending on how big the change is.
To summarize, I think the solution currently is case by case killer changes rather than buffing general mechanics.

Overcharge kinda works like that but its not really a good idea. Its like the old CoB/Overcharge-Meta. The killer stalls the game without making progress (hooks). With the anti-3-gen mechanic its not forever, but it is still a boring playstyle. And in the end survivor will still win, just 10 minutes later.

Case by case would be the perfect solution, but we have over 40 killer now. That will take forever.
But some outliers should be prioritized. You cant give basekit gen regression if a Nurse gets full aura-build and gen regression.
On the other hand you could implement basekit gen regression with anti-tunnel-changes, maybe it balances itself out.

They should make a weaker version of pain res base kit. Could be 10% regression without scream and then adjust pain res to be 15% at tier 3. It’s necessary at this point. You lose so much time just finding then downing a survivor. Maybe blight and nurse don’t need it but everyone else does imo.

They really need to change something for gen regression so don't feel forced to use 1 or 2 gen regression/stall perks.
Survivors on the other hand getting more gen speed perks so with the right set up and to boxes just 2 survivors can complete a gen from zero within 20-30 seconds. That shouldn't even be allowed killers can't even end a chase and never notice any progress on that gen before it suddenly pops.
And they complain why so many killers are tunneling. 🙄

love losing 1-3 gens because i didnt bring on hook regression as a 110% killer

I dont disagree completely but to go case by case killer rating implies every one is of the same skill level which isnt at all the case. One blight is 90% going to 4k every match where the other may struggle to get a down. Making this change almost impossible.
