This Has Got To Stop BHVR

Seriously, why are all five players, yes, ALL FIVE PLAYERS!!!, ending up on EU servers when everyone is NA-East? How does this even happen? Genuine Question

It happens because 1) the matchmaking system is trash and 2) they don’t care that people are abusing VPN to get on servers outside their region.

It’s pointless to ask BHVR to do anything about this. It’s been asked many times with no response or action from BHVR. Limiting this would mean fewer players and no way BHVR is going to do anything to reduce player count, even if it means a worse experience for everyone else.

I have been on the NA servers with friends from the region, but I have often ended up in a lobby where everyone had super-high ping (my normal ping on US East is 120 ms), and my own ping was around double that of the other people on there (>200 ms). Are we getting sent to south American servers? I have seen this a lot of times, and it is all too common on the NA servers.

And no, we are not getting sent to EU in those scenarios, because my own ping would be in the 40's then.

This doesn’t happen to me often but it does confuse me as to why I am in Europe Servers at times. Are there really no lobbies available for me to play in within my region?

id think that's the case, cus everyone in that lobby was east. It's some bug with the servers

It has nothing to do with either of those. Matchmaking never puts you in the wrong server, and there's never too little players for it to need to do that anyway. VPNing to another region doesn't affect the survivors, only your own ms. This is a bug with DBD's servers that seems to happen when one player is further from their server and clos-ish to another one. The killer in the screenshot would be on 70ms if she was on east, I could tell because average ms for your home host is 50, and when east players are put on eu, your average should be 130. The Nurse was on 150, so potentially she was the cause of us being put on the wrong server because she lives closer to it than her normal server (NA-East)

If you want to test this for your own, look at your ping towards Sao Paulo and Frankfurt (on speedtest.net) and see which one is closer to your in-game ping.
Pretty sure the games where I have seen 200+ ping are those where we are sent to the South American server, for some unspecified reason.

From my own testing (I'm living in Norway, far north), my ping towards the usual server locations is the following:
    Frankfurt (EU Main): 36 ms
    London (UK Main): 36 ms
    Dublin (Ireland): 47 ms
    Cincinnati (Ohio): 117 ms
    Ashburn (Virginia): 118 ms
    Los Angeles (California): 172 ms
    Portland (Oregon): 161 ms
Sao Paulo (Brazil, SA Main): 236 ms

There are steam guides but block every amazon server expect your own in firewall (in this case NA) A bunch of aussie had to do this when BHVR refused to adress them being put in aisa servers. The game pshically cant put you in the server if its blocked in your firewall.

This will stop you personally ever being put in a bad server, wont stop vpners and other bad ping users tho.

I would block the server if i didn't actually have EU friends and did DBDRanked. I need to play on other servers some times
