The secret to ranking up as a survivors is . . .
Don't tunnel generators. Wait, don't go!
What I mean to say is that you don't actually need to technically repair any single generator to completion to gain emblem progress in Lightbringer. So just repair a generator to 50% repair and then go seek out other generators. This new strategy is actually great for ranking up as provided your teammates are slightly competent you'll be fine. A standard match with 4 survivors spawns in 7 generators around the level. Since normally survivors focus down generators one at a time this means that of the seven generators the killer at most needs to watch only 60% of the generators. However, by spreading out repairs across all generators you now have several positive bonuses:
- Since generators are activating slower than normal it increases the odds that someone will be caught meaning that you have an opportunity to get more Benevolence.
- Since more generators are close to being repaired across the entire map the killer will have much less power as they'll have to patrol all unfinished generators compared to the 60% they have to patrol now.
In summary, if you spread out repairs you make the game longer, which increases the odds of you pipping because you're going to get more overall repair time than if you had just stuck to 1 or 2 gens. You'll have a greater chance of being able to save an ally form the hooks to boost Benevolence, lastly, because the match will last longer it should be easier to make sure that Unbroken is at least silver.

That sounds completly counterintuitive, but ill try it today.

You know maybe if this was worked into the game's mechanics it could solve the problem of gen rush. Maybe a gen gets too hot as it is being repaired and if you don't stop for X time after repairing it overheats and you can't work on it. So then you want to work on it until it's about to overheat, then let it cooldown. Then anything that increases repair speed does so without also increasing cooldown, so you can get more repair before it needs to cooldown.
Then as a safety mechanism, every time the killer gets a hook it automatically reduces the cooldown time of ALL generators by X%. So then if the killer is doing super well and you are forced to rush gens, you kind of still can. Maybe it could even be tied to how close each survivor is to death as a means to offset tunneling and encourage the killer to pick new targets (so if they hook the same person twice in a row the cooldown reduction is greater than normal, and 3 times in a row maybe resets the cooldown altogether). I'd also say that if a gen is overheating that a killer cannot kick it to regress, otherwise it would be unfair they can regress it without survivors being able to stop it.

So I tried it now a few games and I guess it kinda worked?
Here are my thoughts:
- I think it was luring the killer into a false sence of security (I didn´t ask them), like "hey there are 3 gens left, i can take this chase" when actually there are 3 gens on seriously progressed
- at least once i noticed how the killer wasted some time where he surveyed the proximity
- I guess it should be more than 50%, maybe like 60-75 %
I just want to say thank you for this tip!

I will try this later.

Also I think you need to “win” chases also.

@PunL Wait, this worked? I am at rank 14 or so right now since I usually don't play survivor. I tried this and it worked at the low ranks so I wasn't too optimistic for you.
If you are serious then this killer main might've cracked the code on the survivor emblem system.
