Regarding the Gooning Allegations...
As many of you already know, the new 4 survivor vote has sparked a little debate revolving one of the options:
Some amount of people are of the opinion that if this survivor wins, it will mainly be because of the so called "gooners", who they believe are voting based solely off of appearance, and not based on who might be the most interesting.
As one of the unbiased voters, I believe this to be untrue. As someone who has extensively read her lore for the past few days, I can in fact attest that I do indeed think that she, out of the 4 options, would be the best pick for the game. Based on her personality, her backstory, and the things that she has gone through to make her the courageous woman she is today I think is a perfect fit inside the DBD universe, where all survivors are yet to face their hardest challenges.

Players (men and women) generally prefer playing as/looking at attractive characters. This is basic biology not some perversion.

Sure, but you got plenty of (conventionally) attractive characters already.
Other players just want a bit more variety.

We already have a big variety of Survivor characters in the game. But people dont play them, because they dont like them. I mean, just look at Haddie for example - there was even some weird movement to give her Skins and then she got 3 or 4 Skins in a row. And guess what? Nobody plays Haddie because she does not look good and people would prefer playing a good-looking character.
Meanwhile almost every game has a Sable, since she is a very attractive Survivor.
For BHVR it is just better to create attractive Survivors since those sell better and especially sell more Skins. Sure, this also means they get more Skins, but for BHVR it is better to create a Skin for all those Sable-Mains compared to the 3 Haddie-Mains around. And as long as Survivors are not different from each other (and they should never be more than Skins), then it is better for BHVR to create a good-looking Skin compared to a bad-looking Skin. Even if the old lady or the dude with the beard looked really unique.

Not every character has to be for everyone. That's fine, I think. Haddie still has her players, and so will whoever ends up winning the grimoire vote. 'Sides, the vast majority of players has 'settled' on a particular survivor anyway.
Though, if nothing else, people get to grow some attachment to the character before the chapter release. Maybe that'll help.

The youngin is just so basic and doesnt really check off any new boxes as opposed to others who do.
We dont have an older black man other than Tapp, but I wouldnt necessarily count him since he's licensed.
Granny to me is the obvious pick since we dont have an older female survivor yet.

Especialy in DBD where most popular survivor was feng before sable was added and before feng it was nea and before her caldette so female survivors are generaly most played except like ace and adam due to their sounds that are quiter and it has some logical reason like they are shorter so its easier to hide with them they arent as tall as male survivors so it has some game advantage palying female character in DBD and as you said players mostly want to play as nice looking characters which this one has nice face and her body wont be ugly I bet so its clear winner (my guess).

Visual appealing characters sell better. We already have several unconventional characters like Haddie (I still wait for a proper face skin that doesnt look like shes been a punching bag for years) and literally none of them are played, cause lore is just "worthless" in dbd gameplay. I would think that at least 9 out of 10 players play their character cause of visual identification. Still I think we need some visual appealing MALE characters.

I voted for the older lady but i strongly dislike that people will shame others for voting for the other lady. It makes no sense to me why we should shame for liking conventionally attractive females… Just let people enjoy things…

There's quite a few of us survivor mains who play more than one Survivor because it's super easy to swap between them without having to learn new powers (and you can still use your preferred perks, if you prestige the appropriate characters). Do I buy Mikaela and Sable skins because they're cute? Sure. Are they my mains? No. I primarily play Haddie because I think she's cool and interesting, and Jeff, because he's adorable and I want to give him a hug. I would 100% add Old Lady survivor into the mix because I would dig a badass older woman who's seen Some Things.

the gooner characters aren't always the most popular; Nea used to be kinda butch and was probably the most popular survivor

I have hope the older lady will win as see seems very popular even outside forms (fb post by dead by daylight about Gilmore comments mostly want anyone other then the young chick)

That was mainly when the meta of content creation was being a "toxic survivor". No0b3 kinda started it and he just so happened to main Nea, which made her the face of toxicity.

I voted for her because she would be the only survivor out of the 4 i'd play. The others didnt look as appealing and i don't really care what people think of that its just how i voted.
I rarely play male characters and i fear the older lady wouldnt look good in DBD. Let's be honest the game needs a heavy graphic update and characters never look as good as their art form.
What i don't understand is that people are attacking people who vote for the survivor or the killer form that they would play. Isnt it better for the game to get characters that actually sell than have another texas chain massacre that couldn't keep their doors open. Let people vote what they like and would play, stop judging, blaming and attacking people because she's " a pretty white woman".

I voted her too. I think if she won she might actualy compete with sable or atleast reduce her number of players. If the old woman wins sure everyone voted for a new style of character, but you will see her as rarely as taurie/haddie/laurie once the hype goes down. The killer would end up being the more played out of the chapter.
And ill admit the 2 most common characters you see in nearly every lobby is sable and lara croft
