How would you all feel about map hazards being added to DBD?
With the unreal engine five update to DBD BHVR can put more things on the map, like with the recent addition of two extra zombies to Nemesis in 2v8 which was stated to be too taxing in 1v4 in the old engine a long time ago. If BHVR was willing to push the envelope when it comes to map design by adding hazards to existing maps and/or new maps would you be up for it or do you feel like it maps worse to play on overall?

It'd probably make maps more interesting step on this snake and you get injured.
You run on this ice you move faster but slip around.
You move slow on this tar pit. Stuff like that

It would 100% be really miserable on Survivor, I feel. I don't believe any of the hazards would be very helpful toward regular play, but would probably help a lot with tunneling.

There is already hazzard on nostromo for the killer with the ice pipes, he gets slowed like by 50%.
Another hazzard can be counted like breakable walls when you break them as killer than can make some loops weaker but I not their big fan they cost you too much time for not that big advantage and on maps like dead dawng in main you must break them or you cant run chase in main if you killer doesnt have power to counter these windows like dracula,ghoul or wraith with action break/vault speed addons.

Turns out that the nostromo slow down can also affect survivors, or so I saw on a Slate clip

Can it? I never saw it but it procs when survivor leaves it so its super hard to get slowed (if it can slow survivor) only time will slow survivor is when like two or more are running behind the first survivor who leaves the pipe spot where the cold gas hits.

I'd be all for it, I love the portals in the D and D map, I also like the pipe idea in the Nostromo.
There is also the doors that open in the game which are cool and the inner area of Plagues Temple.

Map hazards can only work sparingly and if it can only be set up by a player. Nostromo's pipes work fine because they take time to set up and is only allocated to one part of the map. If every map had hazards at every other tile no one would ever play. Things like that could only work in unserious gamemodes like 2v8.

it all depends on how it would work, if it could be abused to give one side the upper hand, then im not sure that it would be good.

Those are for Killer. For Survivor I would expect much worse.

You can expect what you want but I dont think things like these that only benefit one side are good here and if some hazzard events on some maps were added logicaly killer is just one so his benefit would need to be better grom that hazzard event than survivors (like blood orbs areas from that one bloodmoon), so you guess it right they would be more favorable to killer because its 1v4 so even if killers effect for his benefit would be probably maybe harder to obtained he would still have better/stronger effects which would be counter productive here from the devs just adding new things that are bashed into their face by survvior player base because it has stronger effects on killer than for survivor.
