Questions about the Abandon Feature

Apologies if these have been asked before but I had some question surrounding the abandon feature.

According to the DBD stats tracker if a survivor abandons it counts as an escape/win for them. The massive question is Why? If your the last one left and go down why would it count as a win if you abandon? Like who thought that was a good idea.

As it counts as a win for stats does this also mean it raises your MMR?
Hypothetically does this mean that according to the stats tracker i can play a brand new survivor. play stealth to be the last survivor left always, throw myself at the killer to go down and abandon and have a 100% win rate?

I get in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter but as a killer if i abandon it counts as a loss for me.
Classic example of this being unfair is i had 4 DCs 2 minutes into a game yesterday (not going into that here) and i abandoned as i don't wanna go against 4 bots as its pointless. My stats shows a loss for me, loss for 3 of the survivors and a win for the last one as they got to abandon.

It does not count as a win on the stats tracker, it counts as a void match. no win, lose or draw, just void like the match never happened. This is why on the recent matches list, if you abandon it should just have a blank space where the result should be.

This means the escape rate is not accurate as out of 10 matches where a survivor abandons 9 times but escapes 1 time has 100% escape because it counts 1/1 escape not 10/10 escapes.

Due to the match being void and not a win or loss, it is neutral MMR. The only info we have had on this matter is that BHVR internal stats or different to the stats tracker we see….and a previous comment from a mod stating that abandons dont effect MMR.

It is true, the abandon feature for survivors pops up when survivors are about to lose while it pops up for killer when they are essentially winning…but thats why not many killers abandon.

This is what i mean by a void match, escapes will say escaped, loss will say sacrificed but abandon will be blank on the portrait.

Thats interesting. When i view my stats tracker it shows as an escape for the survivor.
This game was 3 dc then a abandon (1 hook and 1 gen done not sure why teh rage quit)
