Fix auto aim!!!!
Jesus I’ve missed so many hits as killer because the auto aim wants to focus on a wall. Ntm some survivors can just straight up abuse it on a couple of loops. Just take it off or better yet let the players be able to disable it ffs.

It's awful and has been awful for years. I was hoping they'd look at it when they put "addressing high priority killer issues" on their roadmap but that has come and gone and basically none of the issues were actually fixed so idk anymore.

with how much time they waste trying to appease survivors they pretty much neglect any basic needss for killers. It’s so blatantly obvious that I think they honestly don’t care anymore.

yes bhvr i truly want to hit the survivor on hook/being unhooked instead of the unhooker….

That wall had it coming. Jk. Anyone know when that auto aim was last updated?

Especially when you hit the air behind the survivor's back when you are on top of them. What is the auto aim logic there

I think an option to turn it off couldn't hurt. Players will either see the point of aim dressing and turn it back on (I still have no idea what it's supposed to do) or choose to leave it off.

You mean you don't enjoy lining up a hit only to whip the side and hit random piece of environment? It's hard to imagine DbD without it lol

Honestly, I can't think of a single reason it couldn't be made optional. I understand the idea is to help players on controller (which already feels prety bad on killer specifically, love it on survivor) but it has been known to cause more harm than good for many players for years. The amount of stolen hits are far more quantifiable than the ones that it secures, so an option to disable it should have at least been tested by now. Things like framerate improvements taking years to figure out (even when still not fixed across all platforms, to my understanding) have a lot more moving parts to deal with, so those types of changes can legitimately take long periods of time to figure out. Aim dressing feels like it works the way it does on purpose at this point, which makes it even more frustrating to have hits stolen by what you assume to be intentional design.
I'm just amazed we got the ability to change the color of scratch marks, a great accessibility option that was dogged by claims it would give an unfair advantage, before we got the ability to disable swings magnetizing to nearby flaming barrels and walls. Feels kinda backwards

I will be happy to have an setting to turn auto aim off

Agreed, its crazy that it is still broken, i remember missing hits all the time when the old DH was in the game, because survivors knew how to abuse the killers autoaim

Is it strange that the first thing that came into my mind while I read "Fix Autoaim" was a Post about Ghoul?
But back to topic.
Yeah these auto aim hits can be horrible, its likely the same with the bs hits through pallets and I am not sure how BHVR can fix this without breaking the code

in the nicest way possible to them, they break the code every update somehow so they might as well just try fix it anyway

The auto-aim situation is ridiculous. It should only be a feature for console, and even then, it should be customisable.
As for this, this is one of two things. Either ping or short swings. A killer's ping may misplace a survivor's hitbox compared to where they actually are, allowing hits that likely shouldn't be possible. The other thing is that at the very end of a swing, the attack's hitbox is slightly bigger, so if you short swing through a pallet and a survivor drops it on you, they'll enter the hitbox of your attack for a moment, giving you the hit.

imagine If Kanekis autoaim made you lock onto totems or breakable walls lol. so pointless
