SCP in Dbd and it's challenges.
The SCP games were my first introduction to horror, and I really believe it has not only an interesting world to be explored, but also characters/creatures that could fit into DbD.
Here is the main issue: Most of the anomalies that are worth choosing (aka not a spoon that kills you when you think about it or something like that) are insanely busted and not well translated to DbD gameplay. SCP 106 would just walk through walls and invalidate every loop, meaning you just don't do anything against him or hold W the whole match. 047 would just be Plague but infects you on M1 and basically starts a timer that kills you everytime. Meaning he'd have to be an m1 killer with a slowdown ability (you're not Sadako bro). 173 would just get held in place by two survivors while the other two work on gens, otherwise they'd die in seconds. and 097 by himself would be harmless unless provoked. You see the issue here right?
So here is the big issue with all of them. One SCP is managable. They discourage interaction, both in their own game/universe, and also in dbd's. They're worse when they work in conjunction with each other. As in, that's what makes them scary. Imagine this, one you can't look at is coming you're way, followed by the one you have to look at. What do you do? Nothing. At least you get to pick how you're going to die, if you're so inclined.
I've played with the idea of an scp chapter so much in my head, because it is a real challenge. So here's the ground rules:
- Scps work in groups, not alone. You would have to introduce at least two that interact with each other in ways that put you in precarious situations
- They need to force interaction, yet still have some form of either avoidance/de-escalation.
- Chosen SCP cannot realistically end the match instantly.
So here's my proposed idea, but keep in mind this is just brainstorming and making examples. Not an actual balanced full scope kit. Might be breaking rule 3 a bit, but bear with me.
My best idea I could manage would be Scp-079 paired with Scp-096. Why? Lemme explain.
In a very short summary, SCP-079 is an AI that has nothing but contempt for humans. He is extremely intelligent, can access the facility and take control of it if freed. SCP 096 is a tall, lanky and pale entity with elongated proportions. If ANYTHING sees its face, it cannot be stopped until it kills what looked at it. Doesn't matter how much of it you see, how far away you are, what the circumstance was, nothing. It want's you dead.
So here's the idea. 079 would have monitors around the map, and try to flash images of 096's face to any survivors coming near. He can be disabled (aka contained) for a while, but not forever. That or some kind of penalty for a pick your poison kind of character. Meanwhile 096 would build "enraged" either from proximity to survivors, being stared at too long (even if face is not seen). A player getting flashed with the face would instantly flood enraged to build up to max. Starting slow then growing exponentially. Survivors can tell how enraged he's becoming based on how much he flails around and screams. Just generally showing signs of getting more agitated. Once enraged, it'd be kind of like a combo chain. You want to spread out your damage so more people see your exposed face, thus rebuilding enraged again. So basically a snowball character. Otherwise 096 would just be a 110 movement speed killer who's inefficient at chasing. His heart's just not in it. Undetectable until enraged is activated, with the exception of a very large radius non-directional lullaby of his crying.
This design is very flawed, but that's why it's a concept and not anything I'd put my name on.
Also no skin potential dead on arrival womp womp

They have unfortunately confirmed that SCP will likely never come due to it not being an actual licensed property so they would not be able to monetise the chapter and that there is no one sole ownership to work with - 176 and 096 would be the same process as talking with two different license holders (unless they have the same creator but I don't know enough about SCP to know if this is the case or not)

Since Scp is a collection of tens of thousands of people that made what it is they unfortunately can't monetize or add it to the game

049 could be added, but better off as a plague skin.
