A big thank you to the community
I just wanted to express my gratitude to those who partook in the grimoire and managed to bag us our first elderly woman survivor!
Nice to see that people do in fact want to expand the character roster and have different archetypes represented.

For context, these are the results, as well as the winning percentages:

I chose old lady because I figured the cute blue hair would win. 😆 This is a surprise.

Can't wait to see no one play her after the first month and have her relegated to cryptid survivor status with Quentin and Haddie
-10 -
id buy a grandma haddie skin

Just as I predicted, they just assigned the more "inclusive" character as the winner. The vote has never been real after all.
-20 -
I voted for old lady specifically because her face tells a story and she embodies the "survivor" aspect better.
Looking at the other girl made me think "This is just Kate with heterochromia..."
15 -
why would they do that tho
the pretty girl would've brought in more sales.
13 -
ngl old lady kind of looks like carol from twd, who should’ve already been in the game.
6 -
Wierd how they dont listen to us then 😭

is the killers material a hint to the next killer or lore?

It's the general colour scheme of the killer that will be coming with the survivor

Lol people were accusing them of rigging the vote the first time around for the young girl because the page formatting meant alot of people couldn't see the elderly lady and red haired guy were options. Now they're suddenly rigging it for the old lady? This community is funny
10 -
The game already has plenty of shallow gooner options. You'll be okay.
11 -
58% is cutting it way too close 😳
I can't believe so many people wanted the blue haired girl, I wonder what their reasoning is?
It can't be the heterochromia, because all of the proposed characters have that. 🤔
Well I guess the elderly lady technically doesn't, but she does have two different eyes colors.

Imma main her when she comes out, hope she has good cosmetics ! 😍

She's not gonna look as good in the game as she looks in the art, that's all im going to say.

I'm honestly kind of surprised the older lady won in then end but if you think about it, I guess it makes sense. Enough of the votes that were for the other older characters probably transferred over to her in the final round (I didn't even bother to vote in the final but I would have voted for the young lady if I had).
I'm happy for the people that wanted her to win, but I have a feeling she'll end up with a super low pick rate and barely any skins like a lot of other neglected Survivors. I'm ready to be proven wrong again. As for myself, there are enough Survivors that I never play already, so I'll probably just get her perks if and when they pop up in the shrine.
I still think it would have been a better move to add Linda as the first older lady Survivor, since she's a character those of us who played through and enjoyed TCoFS have made a connection with already. Perhaps BHVR will anyway and we'll get that Frank Stone chapter one day…

- For me, survivors are like Barbie/Ken dolls, so being an "imaginative child" I love having a Barbie with a different look than usual.😁

Unrelated to dbd specifically:
As if people with a "message" would care about profitability, looking at Hollywood and/or some game developers during the last 5-10 years.

Nice to see a more elderly character in the game. I voted for her, glad to see it go through.
🤣

I look forward to perk voting

We bagged ourselves a Gilf

I believe thats cataracts.

I am so glad she won. We needed a bad ass old lady survivor.
I'd always hoped we might have gotten one for Laurie from the Halloween 2018 movie. But that's not going to happen now.

The old lady is ideal from a lore viewpoint, and I want a character that embodies traits we haven't seen before; however, I don’t think anyone wants to address the reality that this character will be as rare as Haddie and Taurie in player use after the patch hype settles. It’s good to get an older woman, but she’s definitely not as likely to be sold or played as much as the younger one would have been.
-1 -
It seems it's now even allowed on this forum to openly insult people who voted for the other girl, as we can see in this thread. Not surprising, considering the old woman was the devs' pick. But at least now we see exactly what kind of people are going to play as her, and why it's completely justified to always tunnel and never heal/save whoever will play her.
-11 -
I don't really agree with this train of thought, as the people who voted for her generally aren't even going to play as her. The majority of the comments I've seen in favor of the old lady are spiteful and hateful towards the younger option, voting against her because she's too pretty and generic, dubbing her Sable 2.0. Meanwhile, I can’t help but see Granny as Sable but old.
3 -
I think the reality of what happened was that the younger option won the first vote out of the four options; however, Behavior, fearing the immediate backlash they were receiving in the comments with the competition being called rigged as #3 was displayed first and you had to scroll down to see the last two options, decided to rerun the vote with the two most popular options. Many voters felt jaded toward the black and blue-haired survivor because of this and voted against her out of spite.
2 -
While the voting was taking place there were people posting on here and elsewhere that they didn't realize there were two more options. They could only see the young girl and the older man. If the follow up vote was because of that feedback then I don't see the issue. We also don't know that the younger girl won anyway, only that she was in the top 2. For all we know the older woman had the most votes anyway and they always planned on a top 2 vote. No point in making more conspiracies.
2 -
If that were the case, I believe we would have seen another vote for the killer design out of the three options as well. The backlash shown in the comments on the survivor probably prompted a revote, as they were far more vocal in their anger.

People get openly insulted for a lot of opinions on this forum be they reasonable or not. If you start calling conspiracy because the vote didn't go the way you wanted, imply being inclusive is a bad thing then yeah people will take exception to it.

You continue to insist the vote was rigged and now you want players to be targeted/griefed for playing a character and you wonder why you're catching heat.
