How i improved in DBD

What i did was very Simple and not hard to set up.

Step 1: pick a Survivor or Killer and remove ur perks, Addons/Items and Offerings. Bring nothing

Step 2 : remove all Expectations and focus on ur Instincts and Game experience.

Step 3 : play with this for about a month.

The reason i play this way is that im not relying on anything im not expecting anything. Im focused on my skills with what I can find.

Trust me you will improve in ur games. It will take time to get used to so give it some time.

What helps is to use the killer power even if you could get a down with a basic attack. Even if its means that you lose bc you are still inecperienced.

And yes relying on clutch perks can hinder your improvement. But more gen regression also means more time to practice in a match.

One problem: if you make it harder for yourself and lose a lot (which is fine), you get worse opponents which cant counter your power. That makes it harder to improve.

The whole point of it is to not rely on these things. When you only bring basekit (meaning nothing). Ur opening so much more. Like i said it takes time to get used to its not a over night learning.

Maybe start it with a stronger killers like Blight, Ghoul or even Lich. Yes its going to be harder, yes its going to frustrating but if you turn ur expectations off then you will notice ur improving.

Ur expecting Perks to do stuff for you. ur expecting And Addon to help you win. Ur to focused on winning not improving

Everyone else is still using perks.

Why would i handicap myself and get severely punished for not using perks? (Slugging or tunneling)

Well imagine being able to Counter Tunneling and Slugging without thoughs Perks to help. I dont see it as Handicapping urself your simply removing the Crutches that you been relying to walk with.

Engaging with the Killer is what you want. When you learn how to loop The Killer then they Cant Tunnel you. If he Cant Catch you then he cant Tunnel or even Slug because he cant down you.

I do something similar. i want to see the strength of the power in its naked form, then from there, based off what I find frustrating or exciting i base my perks around.

these days i usually don't go completely naked though, I'll take things that don't interfere with how a killer functions like Zanshin Tactics.

I consider myself to be Goku practicing with the training weights on. when I remove them, I become so much more powerful.

    • Since DBD is a game and not a job, everyone chooses their own strategies and training to improve. Personally, I would recommend everyone (killers and survivors) to play for fun and without high expectations. A relaxed, fun, and at the same time "focused" attitude will certainly make you improve automatically.
