2v8 is not fun for killer anymore.
I don’t know if it’s just me, but 2v8 has become much less fun for killers. Survivors already have two fewer generators to complete, and with 70s repair times instead of 90s, you can't slug to create pressure, you can’t camp, survivors can heal almost instantly and there’s no way to track hook stages when there are 8 survivors... Not to mention the massive amount of pallets, with maps twice the size of the normal mode, and most killers aren't strong enough to deal with it. This manual Sprint Burst is extremely frustrating—I don’t know who came up with that idea—plus getting Blast Mined in the face all the time... So, in my opinion, 2v8 has become much more frustrating for killers. I know some of this is intentional since the mode needs to be fun for survivors. But I’m not sure if this is the best way to go, because right now the mode feels much more frustrating and unfair for killers than it was before.

And somehow survivors in my team won't repair a single generator besides me. What the fxxx is going on?

Apparently most people don't agree judging by the 30 minute queue during prime time hours.

I dead ass win more in 1v4 solo queue than in 2v8 now. I want these easy 2v8 survivor games that I keeping hear people talk about. My 2v8 teammates are the worst players in the entire game.

all these iterations and I still have no killer i want to play. drac is the only killer I actively enjoy out of the lot. and we had just lost a whole killer, resetting our variety progress.
I get the mode has to be survivor sided for the queue times, but some kinda bones gotta be thrown. but talking is pointless since any discussion is shut down by "good stop playing queues are long"

2 v 8 ran its course for me long ago, it was good but each time they bring it back it gets less and less appealing to me. Not even the event rewards are enough incentive to make me want to play 2 v 8.
Currently as killer im not interested in the mode at all.
Currently as survivor, i might play occasionally to get some challenges done which can be much easier to do in 2 v 8, but other than that, i have no intention of playing the mode at all.

- I'm also a bit bored with 2vs8, for different reasons. I just play the challenges and then go back to "normal" mode.

I wanna master countering the new killer before he goes the way of the First Vecna...not the first Vecna but the First Vecna who is the Second Vecna.

I play both sides about equally and I am probably one of the more “killer-sided” voices here. Honestly I am fine with continued killer nerfs/survivor buffs in 2v8 until the killer queue times get a bit more reasonable. Still at least 20 minutes every time I’ve tried to queue up. Clearly there are still a huge number of people (too many) who are plenty happy playing killer even with the supposed difficulties in this current 2v8 version. Also, let’s keep in mind that there are a ton of new and/or downright bad survivor players in 2v8. It’s not like killers are going up against full squads of great loopers.

I don't know about that one, chief, the half an hour queue time tells a different story.

I have nearly a 70% team kill rate as solo queue Trapper in 2v8, I'm having a good time as killer. Most matches have 3-5k, have had only a couple 7/8e but more 7/8k that make up for it. Teammates this go around are doing well herding survivors into my traps. My only issue is when I get matched with a Nemesis because zombies are knocking survivors out of my traps early instead of downing them and they keep getting in my way during chases.
As killer I'm not feeling overwhelmed/frustrated or like I need more ways to add pressure in my matches because most of my matches the killer team is winning. Maybe it's because I've played alot of survivor so have an idea of their pathing getting around the map I can use my power more efficiently or cut them off in chase. Pallets aren't really a problem when you can put a trap on the other side, pushes survivor to a new loop and catches unsuspecting survivors later on.

It's a mixed bag - some matches I've been absolutely destroyed, gens flying before any downs have even happened, all escaped etc. but also matches when the survivors are allergic to gens and end up with a 7 or 8k.
My survivor games unfortunately seem to be paired with more players that don't want to do gens unfortunately for me

I wish I could understand where the idea that 2V8 is "Survivor-sided" is coming from. To me, it's the most balanced of all the modes. Which means it's Killer-sided but actually achieving the 40/60 split that BHVR are aiming for. If anything, each iteration becomes more Killer-sided as stronger Killers continue to be added. I've Survived only 3 of my 11 Survivor games so far (In one of those Trials I decided to leave an open hatch to go rescue the last caged Survivor instead of leaving like I probably should have but still, it's clearly not Survivor-sided in my experience).
Chucky and Billy are fun I suppose but they just don't hit the same way that Legion does for me. So I think I'll probably not bother all that much with Killer until my stabby boys and girls are brought back into the mode in a way that makes them (hopefully) fun for everyone.
On a side note, I find it funny that many people argued Legion were bad for 2V8 partly because they gave Oni his power for the entire Trial. But I've yet to play a Trial when that wasn't the case, anyway. The Huntress and Wraith they were matched with fed the Oni blood orbs as effectively as any Legion could.

I played seven 2v8 survivor games today and didn't escape once lol everyone seems to stop doing gens once there's 1-2 left. I'm the only one trying to so naturally I'm the one who keeps getting found lol and I'm opting to play Scout most rounds because I don't get why the Scouts on my team never rebuild the pallets near the remaining gens. Those are the most important ones.

What makes 2v8 a little "balanced" is because it don't have MMR, so you can sometimes down some survivors in 20s or less even with all the crutches and 500 mega safe pallets. But, when you go against survivors that knows how to do the basics, it's basically impossible to win as killer in this mode. This mode is clearly designed to ensure the killers don't have a chance to win.

I win most of my games as killer, but the stress it takes for it is not worth anymore.
As long as survs keep exploiting the anti snowball and have to do only 6 1v4 gens to escape… not worthy.0 -
If the most balanced version of DBD is the one that has virtually no MMR, that says an awful a lot about how poorly the MMR system actually serves us in 1V4. I think you could make a similar argument regarding 1V4 with match ups that feature weak links on the Survivor team as being a necessary part of the Killer gameplay loop. The ability for Killers to sniff out and eliminate weak links with ease was something that people defended when BHVR trialled the tunnelling mitigation systems a few months ago. I wouldn't say that makes 1V4 more "balanced" in the strictest sense, but it does make the Killer side stronger and able to win more often. So it's not that different to the lack of match-making in 2V8 in that respect.
But yeah, having to fill a lobby with a double the amount of players (and keeping 1V4 live at the same time) is always going to negatively affect fair match-making. I never touch 1V4 when 2V8 is here because I know all my fellow casuals will be enjoying 2V8. That said, I don't think MMR is completely absent this time around. I haven't faced any day one Wraiths trying to mind game around a waist high rock and I usually get at least one of those whenever 2V8 rolls around. The Killer side will struggle if two support characters are matched together, but one or more top tier Killers can usually send enough Survivors to cages to get the job done. I've been watching streamers play Killer 2V8 and they don't lose very often.
I don't think the problem with DBD's MMR can be easily solved, tbh. It especially won't be solved so long as an MMR system intended for direct competition between two equal sides is shoe horned awkwardly into an asym like DBD. This is why I feel like BHVR are heading down a blind alley when they say they're pivoting attention away from making changes to the gameplay loop and towards tinkering with the MMR system. It's just not going to work out the way they hope it will.

My only problem with 2v8 for the killer perspective is that Escapist is still overbuffed. There are A LOT of problems for killers in 2v8, but the only thing I want to see it properly balanced is Escapist and they can't even do that. Instead they nerf the killer classes and add maps like Lery's that nobody wants.
Escapist just ruins all killers from weak to strong. There's not a single killer who doesn't get completely screwed from being able to just deny the hit. All the effort that takes to catch a survivor offguard, or zoning them into a corner, completely denied with the press of a button, and its very often you'll see half the team running this class. Its even worse now that they just completely removed the display of survivor classes in the lobby screen, so you can't even make a mental note on who has Escapist or not when starting the chase.0 -
Yeah, I agree with everything you said. This class is very overpowered, just being able to deny a hit every 20s is very strong.

I don't think that it is survivor sided or killer sided, it depends on who you get matched with. You win some you lose some. There is only one thing that is consistent and that is that I play solo and 90% of the teammates I get can't down survivors. I am sick of the amount of time I have to wait just to get steamrolled because my teammate is useless or even worse they are completely AFK!
