In 2v8 when there's 1 gen left, the game grimes to a halt

Has anybody else found this happens? The first gens fly, then the next ones go gradually, then nobody touches a gen and everybody dies.

Yeah, it's always like this for me in 2v8 lol game slows right down at 1-2 gens. The killers have less gens to patrol and too many players run at the hint of terror radius (consequence of loose matchmaking)

Only when half of the survivors are dead otherwise that last gen will fly as fast as the first

Usually it happens because the survivors 3-gen themselves, or the killers start patrolling very carefully.

This happens quite a lot because some gamers have apparently forgotten all about the miserable 3-gen strat that Skully brought with her. They just do all the gens in 1 corner / 1 side of the map and forget all about zoning and getting 3-gend. So having to break it takes more time.

In the final 1 gen they gotta do it's more extreme because I believe survivor has 5 gens? Available to do around the map?

2 killers can guard these gens fairly well especially if there gens are close together with the quick regression you can puppy guard these gens fairly easily and prevent survivors from getting on them.

I wouldn't mind some sort of basekit Corrupt Intervention in this mode, not to help the killers, but to stop the survivors all hopping on the first gens they see and cleaning one side of the map.

It's like every game I'm standing there in disbelief thinking "You idiots did it again, didnt you…"

Yeah exactly. The Regression is better in 2v8 and even if the maps are bigger, the area which needs to be covered per Killer is smaller than in 1v4, which makes it more extreme in 2v8.

That’s because, at that point in the match, the people who actually did gens are dead, and the sneaky ones can’t manage to finish a single gen.

I've been trying to raise awareness about this for awhile. It basically leads to old skull merchant gameplay and creates this boring war of attrition. I don't know exactly what the solution is where it wouldn't piss someone off but it's not sustainable and is killing what used to be fast paced and relatively exciting gameplay. The gen lock is strong in 2v8 because you have two killers who can effectively just commit to one specific portion of the map and endlessly kick gens. 2v8 is a significantly worse experience because of it.

Because majority of players rush to gens that are closest to the one they finished meaning they dont do the tacticaly but like some mold from one side to other or they do just corners and left the centre which is like 5 gens (when 1 is left to be done so gates are powered) near other and this hive of gens is easy to protect and mobility killers or even trapper can be very effective here to get many cages and kills.

This happened when 3 gen was a thing a saw so many people dont think about how gens are set on the map and how to create last 3 that are hard (impossible sometimes) to protect and they did same just did only the gens on corners and left the centre or went like mold from one side to other which created 3 gen that sealed any chance for victory and especialy soloq teams finished their game there and doomed it into slow torturous end around that 3 gen (3 gens cluttered next to each other) and this saddly happens in 2v8 too only difference is that on 1 gen left there are 5 gens instead of 3 and there are 2 killers instead of one but the core of this problem created by survivors is still the same and leads in majority of cases the same, with a big fat loss (meaning they loose hard even with the fact they did gens fast from the start they create situation that killers can grab and turn the tables over compleatly).

This is one of the biggest cases i see in 2v8 from survivors where fast start turns into slow death and than its just hatch game at best.

The whole counter just dont do all side corner gens so the centre becomes square of death or dont do them like mold eating bread just spread and create something different than clutter of gens that two killers can grab and protect easily but hard to coordinate even in soloq 1v4 and deffinitely impossible in 2v8 with all those hungry megheads that dont think for future what will they want their game look like in 2 minutes.

I see lot of pleople do even gens like top saloon or red forest first but they are best to be left to the end because only few killers can protect them effictively like nurse and maybe slinger, trapper, dracula.

This is how the entire game works by design. Killers are weaker early on when there is more to patrol, but as the survivors finish gens, there are less of them to protect, leading to the killers being able to patrol a smaller area.

Not really. Most all my games end with the gens finished.
