Picking up survivors should be they same keybing as dropping them
Title ^
Explain to me why you have press space to pick them up and potentially get outsmarted by survivor abusing pallet-tech.
But to drop them no problem, its just another command.

I think this is more of an issue of the pallet break action having the same bind as the pick-up.
But also, it's pretty easy to punish if you see it coming. Be wary of downed survivors right next to dropped pallets. It's pretty much a free hit if they mess it up.

You should not have to worry about survivors just because the keybind lacks logic

probably the way the game is coded. they specifically have a keybind for your “interact with” and picking up a survivor would count as interacting with them. also it would probably bug out with hooking since it uses the same keybind as picking up the survivor. i know they could simply reverse the keybinds and call it a day but if there’s anything i’ve learned as a dbd player, is that the devs will do anything but the easy and simple route.
at the end of the day, it’s a oversight on the devs behalf but it seems like they aren’t going to change it anytime soon. who knows, they might turn CJ tech it into an intended feature like how they did with the vault fake with Knight’s guards.

Space feels very accidentally fat fingerable if you try hooking (also with space btw)

I complained about similar issue on survivor side years ago. On survivor side pick up item connectes to interaction while drop item is a different button. I wish pick up item could be separated from interaction so I could set it to a different button. Way too many times I can't unhook in basement or remove from cage because someone else died there and dropped an item. If I have item in my hand I'm wasting time switching item and then trying to get in right spot to have the prompt go for unhook/cage instead of pick up item.

I disagree, that would keep me from spamming the button to hook someone while two people run around with flashlights.
Exactly. If anything, there are too many actions on that button.
