Unsportmanship

i'd like to open a discussion regarding survivor players that purposefully don't participate in normal gameplay as this causes so much frustration for me personally, I just had a game as a solo player and one of my team mates that had this behavior decided to bring Bardic Inspiration ( Guitar playing perk ) and decided to mess around in the beginning of the match using this perk in front of the other survivors and also during the game when we were working on gens and also being chased by the killer. so basically not participating in normal gameplay, Doing Gens, being chased, unhooking and healing. and when I get chased by the killer this person decided to throw themselves with me in chase and go down first, and then the killer gets me downed. Both of us get hooked. Anyway my point is I do occasionally run across this in some matches and I ALWAYS report this behavior but I NEVER get any result from it even while thoroughly explaining exactly how they decided to not play normally and what they did in depth. I believe this ruins the entire match for both survivor and the killers experience. makes the game way to boring and easy for the killer and for survivors just frustrating and boring. If this person were to do this in a custom lobby with the entire lobby being there friends I wouldn't mind it honestly but if you are going to play publicly with people you don't know I personally believe the developers of all online games should penalize this behavior obviously not TOO harshly and ban them but some sort of penalty like for example you cannot play matchmaking for the next 30 minutes or 1 hour. that way they don't repeatedly do it in public games. i'd like to know all of your opinions? looking forward to reading all comments.

Up to this point, there is no official definition of "regular gameplay", which makes phrases like this "refusing to participate in regular gameplay" essentially meaningless. Countless times people asked whether it was "reportable" for killers to farm, or even to give hatch (which also can be considered as "not regular gameplay"), and the devs have never answered these questions. We still don't know whether killer farming is "reportable" according to the rules, which are not written anywhere but assumed to be somehow known by everyone. We only know that in practice no one has been banned for it yet, as well as for other definitely reportable things, so it also doesn't tell much: it could be not bannable, or it could be bannable but neglected, like the rest of offenses. Nobody knows for sure.

Sounds to me mostly normal gameplay and in the end we only have your viewpoint of what even happened in the match. On my own experience of how much some people really get what is going in the match I would say this is just viewpoint bias. The amount of times I have been said not been doing gens in the end game chat when I fixed several in the match. Bardic is literally meant to be played when other survivors are around to give them the buff too and the chase thing just sounds like him trying to help you out or him accidentally getting into the same chase.

At most he was still technicly participating but making the wrong descisions in thinking that running around giving people bardic buffs is helping. Not participating is like a 2v8 round i had where a streamer and 3 others sat in the washroom stalls pretending to use the urinals, the entire round, while people all went to second hook stages in cages or died waiting. And they never set out to touch a generator or heal or take hits or anything. Just sat there and watched us all die trying to do the objectives without them.
