Those are called Iridescent Shards - you earn some each time you level up. Leveling up is pretty automatic and mainly just happens as you play the game, its mainly based on match time and there is also a bonus for first match of the day per role. They also sometimes give out iridescent shards as rewards elsewhere like in the rift (battle pass) and as login rewards sometimes.

    • Simply by playing (regardless of whether you're a killer or a survivor). Also, if you play decently, that is, you score a lot of points in a single game, getting the "purple coin" (as you call it) is slightly faster.

There is a number at the top right of the screen along with the shards, bloodpoints, and prestige. That other number is Devotion levels, shared across all characters. Everytime you finnish one of those levels it shows you how many purple shards you will be rewarded. They are finnished by earning xp during gameplay.

Alternatively sometimes redeemable codes are released and shown through emails (by signing up for their newsletter on the website with ur account) or just their social media accounts like instagram. Current code is Happyhorseyear2026. It includes some shards and bloodpoints. To redeem this code, you go to the games store where you would get new cosmetics, and there is a Redeem button at the bottom of the main featured page

During events that involve login rewards like during the anniversary or christmas, logging in will give you claimable rewards in the messages tab in game each day.

There are also quests to complete for rewards, some being the shards. Stuff like finnish 10 generators etc.

Not that i know. XP depends only on match time (10min should be the cap) and the bonus for the first match on each side. There were also xp-events in the past.

I think playing survivor is better for leveling up because your play time is usualy shorter and there is cap to how max of a exp you can gain in the match (just thing I heard on some video on YT). So in short playing survivor is mostly more suited for gaining exp fast and effective to gain iri shards faster.

    • That's why I said "decently"... if you don't last long in the game, you'll earn fewer "purple coins" or at least more slowly. If you have a long and intense game, you'll automatically earn a few more "purple coins."

"Also, if you play decently, that is, you score a lot of points in a single game,"

If you knew it you would have said: that is, you stay a long time in the game.

Mate, its not the end of the world to say something wrong. You dont need to start a discussion. You said it wrong, i corrected you, its fine. Everyone makes a mistake sometimes.

Good luck with the grind! That's probably one of the most expensive cosmetics in the store.

I just unlocked the Naughty Bear skin myself and it took me over a year to earn enough shards for it. I did buy Vee with shards in September though, which set me back a few months.

Being a new player you might get there quicker than I did (I don't play regularly anymore). But yeah, you should know it's gonna take a while.

Yeah, it’ll be a bit of a grind, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. If you only got the game for one skin, there’s always a chance you’ll realize it’s not really for you and stop playing. Better that than spending money and then regretting it.
