Adepts on some killers just doesn't feel possible anymore.
To preface, I never bothered achievement hunting within my thousands of hours of playtime before and finally I am trying them out. I am almost certain I am high mmr…
…but because of that, trying for adepts on certain killers (xeno, lich, even nurse, killers with not super great teachables) ends up being loss after loss after loss after loss.
In today's modern DBD environment, where gens can fly and heals can be less than 3 seconds, slowdown perks seem to be required if you wanna 4k, and you need to do that for adepts.

To also add, I mainly play survivor, so I am lesser experienced on a few killers, but it doesn't change that the pressure to have to run good perks makes the game more stressful and less fun if you are playing killer without them…

I've given up on trying, just for my own mental health.
for me a lot of killers just aren't that fun trying to get wins with basically nothing. sure, maybe I just stink but killers like First feel like such a slog to play because of the counterplay that I kinda want perks to play around that. it's not even like the perks i use are that great anyways.

Adepts are one of those things that happen when they happen. Sometimes it's your first try, other times you're at it for a week. Just keep playing normally and you'll get there.

I got my Trapper Adept fairly recently and I had to play quite a lot of matches (maybe 10-15?). Got pretty close a few times, but the last Survivor would always find the hatch (I don't like slugging for the 4K).
You can also go full sweat mode and employ all the strats that Survivors typically hate. This is honestly how I got my Legion adept (I felt bad about how I'd played and decided I would never do that again). But if you have no such qualms, sweating is always an option.
Another is to play at times you know there won't be many players on. You're basically gambling here that the wonky MMR will give you 50 hour newbies instead of a demon SWF group.
So it is possible, you just have to persevere and keep trying until either your MMR with that particular Killer tanks to the point it hits rock bottom, you take the gloves off or you get lucky. I only adept my favourite Killers because yeah, it can be torture trying for Adept.

Singularity took me forever, I got Houndmaster on my first game with her.

TBH I stopped caring about making survs feel bad after the first time someone added me on steam after a game only to start calling me racial slurs. I literally had to make my steam wall private because of angry survs and make sure neither my steam name or forums name are in any way related to any other social media stuff I do.

The true way is play dirty when you can and slap good addons because not all killer either have solid perks like artist,clown and some are super weak even with midd perks like trapper, some i got totaly by survivor team loosing because they didnt want 2 escapes but 3 and lost to hook stand off or there is gab where you can slug and you must slug them all or my favorite when someone dc than its way more possible to achieave.
The truth is the adept for killer since they make it it needs 4k was always hard compare to survivor where you just need good team or luck for hatch and you will get it but on killer perks matter more especialy on weaker ones so you must compansate by some tactics like slugging and tunneling to achieave that adept like my on merchant I just was loosing so I said screw it and went against one guy hard basicaly throw the game and funnily enough it ended in 4k because they give me oppening for slug and I got kill and than it was just about being lucky on hatch.
For killer hatch is deal breaker because its 4 kills not 3 and hatch is big hazzard plus some maps have god like gates like larrys that you cant protect both if you dont have killer like trapper or singularity but tbh the games where it looked I will loose hard were the ones where most of my adepts on killers came from.

Pretty much the journey throught purgatory but they happen when you least expect it from my experience.
Just remember when on first 3 killers (trapper.wraith,billy) the adept was just about getting all theirs 3 perks unlocked as teachables I believe or something like that but it was changed later and worst days for adpet on killer were the ones where you needed merciless victory back than basicaly double pip and 4k which on killers like oni or twins was nearly impossible not to mention some class for points from 4 was bugged so you couldnt reach iri level of that class in points annyway which made adepts impossible for some time.

Lose enough and survivors you are paired with get weaker.
