Kill Switch update: We have temporarily disabled The Legion due to an issue that allows for infinite power spam. The Legion will be re-enabled once this issue is fixed.

I'm sick and tired of weak killers staying weak, and nobody gives a damn

It's ridiculous seeing nothing being done about them after how many years? There are so many killers who deserve a list of buffs namely Ghostface, Trapper and Skull Merchant. There are more killers out there who also need buffs but right now, these 3 aformentioned killers are top priority.

Why do they remain as they are? It shouldn't take ages for you to make drastic improvements to their power. These killers need HELP!

What's worse is that nobody seem to care or at all despite the majority of survivors wanting killer variety? Then this should be the step to the right direction except we remain in a still stand of bringing this discussion to the devs because they refuse to do anything about it or give no answer. It feels negligent.

Anyone who says that "<insert name> killer needs to be deleted" shouldn't be playing dbd.

The devs have left Skull Merchant in the same state for so long…so? Sounds like they agree Skull Merchant is a boring killer. They don't even want her in the game.

Trapper: He's the intro killer, easy to play and pick up to help new players get into the game. If he was strong he would massacre new players.

Ghostface: He's difficult because his power is very strong on the right map and against soloq. A straight buff would make him too powerful in these situations, so a larger rework would need to be imagined to balance him out more evenly, but people like GF general design so that is unlikely.

Skullmerchant: Because her design was way too hated by a substantial portion of the playerbase, and rework ideas have largely been disliked as well, so she remains in the state she is in.

What's worse is that nobody seem to care or at all despite the majority of survivors wanting killer variety?

Mostly people don't want to just see the same two to four killers that make up S Tier. There's a whole lot of killers in the A/B tier that people are quite happy to face. The problem isn't the few killers at the bottom, its the few killers at the top.

Killer variety won’t increase just by buffing low tiers. The top tier has to be brought down or else there is no incentive to switch to the newly buffed low/mid tiers. It’s not that they are forgotten. It’s more likely that the roster has grown too large to rework so many killers at once. The more practical approach has been for new killers to be strong (essentially making some older killers obsolete).

Considering their schedule, this year we got a rework for trickster, which means trapper might get a rework later this year as ive seen mention hes on their to do list somewhere.

If the anniversary ends up being jason maybe trapper would need to be changed in ways to feel like hes up to jasons power level so that the inspired poster character isnt fully overshadowed by the real thing.

I am looking forword to a skull merchant rework as i did still enjoy her until the stealth activation change. But it seems they can only afford maybe 1-2 reworks per year and have alredy made changes to her recently.

I just honestly hated her Stealth in all honesty.

Really hated the fact that she could plop a drone outta her back pocket, have zero cues that she's near you.

I do like that they did the drone scans to show the survivor when they're seen and how to avoid being scanned. Honestly, I don't have much to say about Skull Merchant.

I played her for a bit, I'd have to look at my stats for the exact hours but she was okay. I didn't even play her in the way some Skull Merchant players do where they pull out the telephone (I like calling it this) and just whipping the scan back and forth. I think the main issue is that she is a jack of all trades killer.

Ask any survivor what their issue is with her, you will get a different answer every time, lol.

I liked playing as her, but she's not a very dynamic killer to play as.

You drop a drone out, pull up the phone, survivor gets to a tile, plot that drone out, imma bloodlust you as you get hindered and potentially injured (which is where other survivors hated her kit). She just needs something, I honestly feel like I could play music while playing Skull Merchant because she's very simplistic to me.

To be fair to BHVR, some of the weaker killers do actually get changes.

Back around when I was newer to the game, the weakest killers in the game were Trapper, Legion, Freddy, Ghostface, and Myers, plus Trickster when he was added (which was the first PTB I was around for, fun fact).

While Trapper's still firmly one of the weakest in the game, all the rest of those have seen significant changes. The new weakest crop in my opinion are Trapper, Skull Merchant, Sadako, and Ghostface (since his changes didn't really elevate him as much imo)— outside Trapper there's only one repeat and the other two didn't even exist when I started playing.

It's a fair criticism to say BHVR move very slowly when it comes to buffing the weaker killers (and also when it comes to nerfing the strongest ones) but it does happen.

There is still hope. They've said they will do balance changes during this year based on the survey they've sent earlier this year. Hope they don't nerf the wrong killers and change things that doesn't need change.
