Trickster sucks to play against lol

I might be the only one.. but I always kind of hated playing against trickster. But now with him only needing what 6 blades? There's like nothing you can do it seems. Super annoying.

I honestly just hold W and go around obstacles to avoid Trickster.

It's harder to do on an open map like Coldwind or Shelter Woods.

I remember playing with some friends last night on the new map against Trickster (Mina was trying to tunnel me) and I just kinda kept running from grocery store to grocery store. I honestly think on my last hook (yes, she was still following me around and I think it took either my friend or Ada to force chase to get her off of me) - I honestly believe if I did not have Sprint Burst I would have died otherwise.

It's honestly ridiculous to me that she can melt through an endurance and down you, but indoor maps and holding W is the only counterplay to her and I'll continue doing it otherwise.

For open maps, I would just recommend splitting up to prevent her from getting a snowball - especially when survivors are trying to get flashlight saves, she can turn into an oppressive force when people are clustering.

He's dead bro, if u run to shack or just hold W, Trickster does nothing. He is more weak than before.

The killer is one of the worst in terms of core design but the couterplay just got easier, he is now 4.4 afterall.

All you have to do is play smart, split, break LoS, try not to loop in the open and hold W half the time. You can also try to zig zak to dodge a few knives when you are further away in the open.

He can run out of knives faster compared to before, once he does, just again hold W and force him to reload and again hold W to make distance.

Nothing really changed about going against trickster except hold W is stronger now

I think he was very boring vs before because he could easily just walk you down, but now that he's 110 LOS denial mid-tile is much easier and it takes much longer for him to catch up on even basic small loops if they deny him knife hits.

He's not the most involved killer to vs - not that that's a problem, necessarily - but this is VASTLY preferred to the previous iteration, in my opinion.

for me I can't stand his noise pollution of the knives shattering. trickster main evening me on the hook makes me internally scream

i agree its annoying cause you feel like you will eventually go down, but that down still takes longer than huntress. when throwing a pallet against trickster sure u get hit with a few blades but u take a whole health state against huntress.

trickster is more consistent but a worse off killer

Run Sprint Burst and just W key to the nearest loop with high walls whenever he heads your way and there's nothing he can do.

Yeah I really enjoy playing against them recently, unless its an awful map (no tall walls anywhere), but that's more of a map issue lol

I think the issue is that it’s very map dependent. He’s at a severe disadvantage if he loads into maps with high walls or indoors, and survivors are at a severe disadvantage if loaded into a map with open spaces and short structures. But unfortunately, that’s an issue with several killers and their counters. The map can instantly push a match into a certain direction without any input from the actual players.

Everyone's solution is to "Just hold W".

It's true, sure. But is fun game design?

To me, Trickster feels like a huntress for people with low skill level.

Huntress has to take care to aim and hit her hatchets. It feels good for huntress when she gets hits. It feels good for the survivor when they dodge it. And it feels impressive at times when you get hit by it.

Trickster can just spam until he eventually hits enough for the survivor to go down. It is just so boring to go against, and at least personally I'm never impressed when I go down from a Trickster, like I do with huntress.

So IMO, the problem isn't whether or not you can win against it. The problem is that it's simply not fun to play against.
