For the sake of the games health some of the maps need to go
Ten years is a long time, and in those ten years BHVR has never been able to make a good map for us to play on. No matter what they do it seems like they can never find a mix between balance and fun, because this is a video game made for fun, expect the maps are not fun to play on. MW 2019 had better maps then this, and that game had Piccadilly as a map. I mean can we even call Fallen Refuge a map it still feels like a playtest that was somehow put into the game. For the sake of the health of the game and for my sanity, some of the terrible maps like swamp and badham either need major overhauls or just cut from the game.

Anytime someone states that something needs to be removed from the game just tells me the topic is not worth the time to read. Removing something from the game does not improve its health it just makes the game less.
Still have to state that swamp maps are not really even that bad but tweaks on them might be good to do. Fallen Refuge is something I do agree on it needs way more work and main reason why its like that was because Behavior did not meant to it to be a map at all. They several times stated that it was meant to be a new tile that spawns on maps in Withered Isle realm but most likely they did not get it to work or they realized that there can be license issues as there is licensed map in that realm Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and mixing another licenses asset to it might have been problematic. Still there has never been a statement of why they originally claimed it to be a new tile for the maps and there was originally no map even marked to be released with the Walking Dead Chapter.

Unfortunately even if they wanted to they couldn't remove a lot of the more problematic maps due to map specific achievements being a thing.

I wouldnt say gone, but it does need a rework. It's "main" building should actually be a main building, not a glorified jungle gym

I always feel that this map is a mess because it was not really developed. It indeed looks like a test map and the special tile is just a joke and not iconic at all.
For me the map was basically developed shortly before the Chapter was released. Because at first it was advertised without a Map, so I can only imagine that the license holders changed their mind at some point and there was not enough time to make a proper map. Because after all, the same designers made Ormond Lake Mine, which is an awesome map.
And it is not like there would not have been locations for it. I think something like the prison in a state after the Governor did his work on it would have been a great map (and it would bring the prison to the game without making it an indoor map…).

I don't want any deleted, but changes are needed on some.
Badham definitely could use a huge overhaul. At the very least, gens on only two levels instead of three would be nice. Multiple loopable building is just ridiculous too. It was fine when Haddonfield balanced it out but that's done now.
I'd also like there to be more ways into the bottom of Forgotten Ruins. As it is, killer's can camp the portal entrance and still check the stairs, and those are the only ways in.
Fallen Refuge map is beyond embarrassing. Like that thing is a disgrace. They need to pretty much redo it from the ground up. Everytime I load in im like

I want a full rework of it, The walking dead map is so pathetic especially when you compare to what they did with trickster map.
I honestly believe its just a test map they slapped the main building tile in and called it at day because they couldn't get main building to spawn as a tile on other maps which they where trying to do originally2 -
They could still take it out until it has been improved, the green filter my friends tell me gives them a headache, though IDK if that's actually a more common issue.

Fallen Refuge feels to me like BHVR forgot they agreed to a map in their WD contract, so quickly threw one together last minute lol

while i don't think maps need to be deleted, they desperately need to be reworked.
a lot of the game's balance heavily relies on maps. most of the maps are not designed well, so perks are being used to compensate for the design flaws. this is not how the game should be balanced, nor does it make it fun for anyone.

BHVR is only going to remove content from the game that contractual obligations force them too, so asking for maps to be deleted is kinda pointless.
That said, large scale reworks, perhaps akin to a second realm beyond would be much appreciated. Simply change a map and keep tweaking it until the community is satisfied, rinse and repeat until profit.
Obviously there's a lot more to it than that and the community is not some one note hivemind that will agree on everything, but some proper effort would be nice.
Fallen Refuge should be fully reworked to be an actual fused take on the Hospital and Prison for example. Take the crumb in the one tile we have and expand on it.
Most maps don't need to be changed nearly to the extent Fallen Refuge does, but that's a good thing, start from the bottom and move from there.

I personally always disliked Rotten Fields, especially after the corn rework, because it was so easy for mobility killers to catch up to survivors without survivors really having any tiles to run to other than hugging the outer walls.
The walking dead map is basically Rotten Fields, but with no corn at all, so every single killer just has it quite easy info-wise.
I genuinely wish they at the very least added some walls in the center so that mobility killers dont have basically free cross-map information1 -
I also dont like Rotten Fields. Because you clearly see that it is a very old map. But this is also the problem I have with Fallen Refugee (and Dead Sands). I think this late in the game maps without a proper Main Building should not exist. It is fine if they dont add one for Rotten Fields and they added one for Shelter Woods. But I think Fallen Refugee and Dead Sands should have come with a Main Building.
But Fallen Refugee is just a bunch of C&P Rock Loops, a strange Tile, some Standard Tiles and Shack. Very boring.
