Can a Dev explain why you guys hate event offerings?

Like I'm really curious about this. The game is almost 10 years old with so many players who say since years that the event offerings are terrible. They only work during the event and only work on yourself.

The only "event" that gave us good offerings are the anniversary offerings that are just better Bloody Party Streamers and even with them they started to nerf them by making them more rare each year during the event. We don't even know if we get this year any because the last Twisted Masquerade was the final one and maybe this year the event is completely different.

So again my question why do you guys hate event offerings since years and repeat to ignore criticism?

They probably have some data that says player retention is higher if they give out less blood points. At least that's what makes sense to me. It could also be a response to when they made the bloodweb cheaper and then later buffed survivor BP gains. Who knows since they will never tell us their reasoning.

The devs have been waging war on blood points for the longest. They think everyone is gonna put 8 hours a day into this game.

Honestly, it's better this way. When it's not a personal offering, killers bring a survivor pudding instead and then still benefit from all the survivor offerings while playing as scummy as possible.

The whole point of this event is that there is a separate BP boost anyway.

I've always theorized that it would somehow devalue the Anniversary offerings and therefore the Anniversary event. It's the only time of the year across roughly 9ish years where you can get an objectively better offering than the year prior that is fully sharable with the lobby. I wish they'd lighten up on the restrictions for the Blood Moon but ATP I only use the Cakes I accrue the June prior so I can set myself up for success P100wise.

Yeah I remember good old times (for bonus bp) where streamers offering was brown quality the lowest and event gave you more or rewards like for christmast when you log in were bigger, fact is now in bloodweb things are cheaper more but still I kinda see that each year rewards in multiple way meaning offerings or the ones for logging in are getting smaller and smaller.

There has been cake offerings since year 3 anniversary (before the Twisted Masquerade came out) so yes there will be cakes this year even though the event gameplay will be something else the cakes being more rare is also due to them getting rid of event rarity short-sightedly and now cakes have to share rarity with other items making them more rare

My own personal gripes with events as is:
    >The free items from them are usually pretty lackluster or don't match with almost any cosmetic outside of the event
    >Log in rewards outside of tiny microdoses of irri shards are pretty underwhelming

    >The "Events" are mostly just repeat slop from previous years with no new fun mechanics or maps

What baffles me the most is the MOBILE Dead by Daylight has all these fun modes and stuff we don't on console/pc still AND emotes. When the hell are we going to get anything like that? I prefer the silly random bs games over normal games usually. I'd love to be able to do the mobile modes on PC without having to use a mobile emulator to do so.

I wish more event blood point bonus items would stack as well - they can keep the stipulation that they only work during the event if they're really concerned about runaway bp bonuses the rest of the year. It just feels wrong that the objectively 'best' offering to bring for blood points during an event is never the offerings you get during the actual event (aside from anniversary events obviously).

I've made some calculations, out of curiosity.

I assumed that we have escape cake/survivior pudding and we average 56 000 BP per match with it.
Without lobby bonus, without additional BPS that someone can bring into a match for us.

I also assumed that match on average takes 10 minutes.

If we play 2 hours daily, 7 days/week we need…. 504 days to p3 everyone. Considering insta lobby time.

I hope that gives everyone some perspective.

I don't understand why BP gains are getting worse every year.

We have anniversary, halloween, bloodmoon, winter event

You really don’t need every character at P3. If you actually enjoy the game and take a bit of time to look into which perks you like, you can already build a strong setup pretty quickly. Even P1 on the characters with the perks you want is often more than enough.

With the current Blood Moon event, progression feels really fast. If you play around 2 hours a day as killer, you can get roughly 250k BP per match even without using cakes. That adds up to about 2 million BP per day if you take 15/min a match. Over the course of the event, that’s easily 30 - 40 mil BP.

Considering it takes about 3.6 million BP to reach P3 on a character, you can unlock quite a lot in a relatively short time whether that’s multiple characters at P3 (30perks) or a large pool of perks at P1 (120perks).

People need to enjoy and apreciate the grind more in my opinion. :)

I mean you can do 3-5 character of each side to have a decent build, that's true.

Doesn't mean people wouldn't like to have everyone p3 - having everything available is a good thing if you like changing things up.

We can literally prestige Bill, David and have decent build for surviviors - Dead hard, DS, Unbrakeable and Resilience for example.

Same with killers - Clown for pop, Artist for Pain Res and Grim and Sloppy Butcher and that's decent build.

I get that people like to have everything unlocked, and I understand why. People want everything as fast as possible, and then they get bored because there’s nothing left to work toward… and end up complaining about that too.

I’ve been playing DBD since 2019, and back then it was a completely different story. You needed around 16 million BP to get a character to Prestige 3 with all perks, and after prestiging you lost all your add-ons. On top of that, perks weren’t shared between characters, so you had to grind everything again for each one.

If the game was still like that, I would completely understand why people want progression to be faster, because that grind was honestly pretty extreme.

I also think a lot of people don’t realize that the first 22 tomes still have Bloodpoint rewards. Each full tome gives roughly around 2 million BP, which really adds up.

You also get a 250k free gift every week, and if you reach Iridescent rank each month, you can earn around 1–2 million BP, depending on whether you play one side or both.
