Title: Suggestion: Temporary Event for Survivor-Only Proximity Voice Chat
Hello Behaviour Interactive team,
I’d like to share a suggestion for a new idea to experiment with in-game voice chat in Dead by Daylight while preserving the game’s balance and core experience.
Idea:
- Create a temporary event where Survivors can use Proximity Voice Chat only among themselves, with the following rules:
- Voice is clear at close range (e.g., 0–3 meters).
- Voice gradually decreases at 3–6 meters, becomes faint at 6–10 meters, and disappears entirely after 10 meters.
- The Killer cannot hear any voice, even if nearby, ensuring the game’s tension and balance remain intact.
Benefits of the Event:
- Safe trial for players without affecting the main game.
- Directly measures player feedback: does extra communication enhance fun while maintaining tension?
- Evaluate the potential for future integration if the event proves successful.
- Encourages strategic teamwork among Survivors without making gameplay too easy.
Justification:
- The game relies on task distribution and realistic tension when facing the Killer.
- This system preserves the game’s core spirit and competitive style, while adding a fun communication layer for Survivors.
- It prevents instant information sharing across the team, as each player only hears nearby teammates, maintaining game balance.
I hope you consider this idea as a temporary test or event, allowing you to collect feedback and data before making any official decisions.
Thank you for your continuous effort in improving the game and player experience.

What considerable buff would you give the killers to compensate for such a massive survivor buff?

And why would we play this as killer?
Also yeah no, i'd rather play without my eyeballs than have to deal with all the ridiculous background noise that comes out of peoples mics.

Nope. Temporary is just to get the foot in the door for the general game.
